Thanks to this review you saved me money. I will stick with my tomtoc. Is heavy but I could not live with so little space for a 23L. Thanks man

I honestly love when you do Thule bags my man ♥️ no one does backpack reviews this well! Some recommendations of you get a chance in the future: Thule crossover 2 20l, Exeo 28L, construct 28L. Would be amazing to see someone go in depth on those models!

I bought both Thule Subbtera 23 and EnRote 23 just to understand which one is better for me. And the verdict is - Subterra will stay and EnRote will be turned back.
Although I love some parts of EnRote like back-padding, side pockets for water bottle, and inside pocket for a laptop, overall this backpack just feels cheaper and lower quality. The "Safety" pocket makes this backpack so awkward. And the holder above it is in such a weird place - it is hard to grab it and I can not hang my backpack anywhere with it.
Subterra has nicer materials and an overall look, it has much better shoulder straps, inner organization pockets etc. But it has very small side pockets for a water bottle. I can only fit there a 0,5l bottle.
If I could combine various parts of these bags - I could make a really, really great backpack. But it is what it is and I am choosing Subterra 23.

Thank you for watching and for sharing both experiences with the bags! I haven’t had a chance to try that version of the subterra, but I’ve had good experiences with the other sizes so I’m curious to try this one out as well

I was just deciding between both. Your comment made it for me. Thanks.

This is so coincidental as I have been looking at this bag for the past 2 months. It's great for the carry on options it opens up to the cheaper airlines due to the size. The strap system is one that for this size is unique too so if you have a small amount of heavy items it might just be the one for you to use for a weekend get away.
In the end I decided to just get a classic jansport as it's only 500g in weight and more capacity with 30 year warranty and as far as footprint goes it's carry on complaint.
Ironically I'll be using the Thule powershuttle bags as it negates the need for the organisation in this bag.
Great overview and I could have done with this video a while ago but makes me feel like I made the right decision seeing the uses you have for this bag.

Thank you for watching! This is definitely a versatile bag, but I always had solid experiences with my jansports over the years! That’s great you’ll have the Thule pouches for additional organization, I haven’t used them too much but they look really cool!:)

Thank you for this interesting video! This new EnRoute would be on my shortlist if I were looking for this size. But I got this size covered with a Thule Crossover of similar size. I think you already reviewed that one. For traveling, I use a Thule Subterra 34L and I totally love it. Especially the big packing cube works very well for me, although it didn't suit your packing method when you reviewed it. I bought it anyway, because your review showed me that it would be great for me. It is.
Looking at Thule's new products, I would like to see a review of the Tact. It looks similar to the Subterra series, but it has a different organisation on the inside and Thule claims that it has some anti theft features. It seems to come in two sizes, a 16L and a 21 L. The latter looks more useful because of the extra volume, but the 16L probably makes for a more interesting review. Can you actually use all of those internal pockets, given the small size?

Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! I hadn’t heard of the tact but I’ll have to see if I can get one to test out!:)

How would you compare this bag to the Thuleenroute 25 and dslr 24l ?

Love all the quick access pockets. The zipper on the hard shell would frustrate me tho.

Thank you for watching and definitely agree on the pockets! Love how many options there are but really wish I could remove the hard shell from the top pocket

Man I'm trying to replace my Thule Enroute Triump 2 21L... Debating over that one and the Accent

Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! Between the two I prefer the aesthetic and organization on the enroute but both are really solid bags!:)

Great review. If half full, is it really a good daily bag for a jacket, umbrella etc? I hate unnecessary bulk. I looked at the 14l but looks tiny.

Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! I think even half full it can still work well for those types of items
