    I luv my 200 Titanium! For the back yard shop guy, I think it's perfect. I mean, you get a choice of 4 different types of welding with one machine. Bless Harbor Freight! If it weren't for them, a bunch of us would not be able to justify the cost of some of the tools and equipment we have. I just need to take a welding class. I'm 72 and having fun rebuilding my 56 Chevy and a bunch of side projects! :)

    As far as the sensitive knobs, get some O rings and place between knobs and panel That will cause some friction and help against bumping .Also, remove knobs and cut up some scrap sheet rubber, and glue to panel. Great Review! I have been thinking to buy, I retired from Welding/Metal Fab/Machinist after 54 yrs., this looks good for home fab,Etc.

    Outstanding review. Thank you for your honesty regarding its target audience, it helped my confidence in this unit. My mother bought the Unlimited 140 as a gift for my 14yr old son who has recently come to truly enjoy welding. It was a gift from a "I want him to have something to remember me by, that he can and will use for years to come", she even picked him up from school and took him to get it so it could be a great memory for them both. He is still in the learning stages, really likes to run MIG and ARC, and is getting better daily. This thing is perfect for him to get experience at multiple processes, and grow with until he is ready for a heavier duty unit.

    I appreciate your review and I wanted to say so. I have been wanting to pull the trigger on this machine for a long time now and I am just about ready to make it happen. Still saving my ducks so i can get everything I need for a small setup in my woodworking garage layout. Been wanting to add welding of metal to my woodworking projects so I can make more interesting work pieces for myself or to sell. But facing a learning curve means it will take time, but I wanted to be sure about the first welder I would ever invest my hard-earned money into and not end up with an inferior piece of equipment. So, saying, research goes a long way in making the right decision and you have certainly helped me with my welder choice. Appreciate you!

    I have both and can say from my experience the Hobart 210 mvp burns much hotter. Its a much heavier duty machine. But weights like tank not portable. The titanium 200 is a feather and versatile . I like both.

    • @everythingyukon
      @everythingyukon  3 роки тому +1

      I had that same Hobart, but I sold it, this one's a smoother machine, but a little cooler as you say

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 2 роки тому +1

      I think the Hobart is a transformer based machine VS the Titanium 200 which is an inverter based machine. For a homeowner DIYer the Titanium will do fine, if I were welding all day long as a pro I'd definitely want a pro machine LOL. My welding skills aren't good, ok at best, so this Titanium Unlimited 200 should do fine.

    Older clip I own one of these . I'm just a tinker kind of guy k. I myself can't complian on the machine at all. Now with that in mind I've welded with stick function does pretty well at some thicker bonds but currently I'm playing with some body work as mentioned I'm finding the steel I'm bonding together is too thin. This machine doesn't cut back enough . Not a con per say but just keep it mind. Over all I'm very happy with it.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 2 роки тому

      Thank you for that tid bit of information. I don't plan on welding anything that thin, but I'll try and keep that in mind. I run into the same trouble with my old Harbor Freight $100 MIG welder as well on occasion where the materials are just too thin and you can't turn the welder down any further and it just burns right though LOL.

    • @everythingyukon

      Mine takes a split second. They have pre and post gas, the gas starts before the wire feeds, and for a moment after the wire stops

    • @coltburk6413
      @coltburk6413 2 роки тому

      @@everythingyukon it feeds but then will slip on the bearings

    • @everythingyukon
      @everythingyukon  2 роки тому

      Ah, it could be the tension on the rollers. If memory serves it comes with a couple different sizes and types.
      It’s also possible the rollers are the wrong size or flavor for your wire, and oil or fine dust can cause wire slippage too.
      I’d start by check removing the rollers and making sure they’re for you wire size, 030 wire needs the 030 roller groove and so on.
      Many rollers are double sided, one roller will work for 2 different wire sizes, it just needs to be flipped to the correct side.
      Hope that helps, let me know if you get it figured

      For "pretty" welds I'll sometimes drag depending on position the application of the weld. With this welder wire and settings I don't see any difference in weld quality or penetration when drag is compared to push

    🙋 Hi I have this 200 for 2 yrs + works great. Also when to Primeweld now with I do like much beer.
    The thing I don't like is the TIG . No foot petal ! Can't put one on 👎 I do have the spool gun also. Never used it let. I thing Primeweld is so much more for the money 3 yrs on the warranty a big +
    H/ F 1 yr. You buy thr rest from H/F .
    Primeweld and H/ F so much more for Primeweld than you get from H/F + you got to try there 225 Tig wow great A/C D/C Tig . Foot pedal plus and lots more I payed about $700 for it . Also have the Primeweld plasma cuter 60 about $ 650 wow great cutter also setup for cnc which I have on a CNC TABLE WORK GREAT.
    One it's a better cutter and cheaper. But I would not put out H/F , there are not to bad , I do like mine too, one thing try out sick welding on it , I was surprised. Wow work great
    Great welds on sick and Mig . I Leaning Tig right now on my Primeweld 225. For now. YOU will like the H/F but it's not that cheep . I hope it holes up ,
    The thing I worried about it sitting out in the cold cold shop at times for weeks , just got out hospital, was not in my shop for 5 months. It's cold , do these things like cold ? I hope you enjoy your 200 and last forever ❤ and all good things come from it !
    God Bless 🙏 you all and A MERRY XMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR 🙏

      @@everythingyukon Yes. Scratch start and yes you can ,with it , just don't like that because I'm handicapped and it's very difficult for me to use the Scratch start it works fine though the scratch start once you get used to it I just want the foot puddle I checked all around there's no way you're putting a pedal on without great difficult they say you can not do it with that machine I talked to the technicians too they said you can not
      I'm sure there's some kind of way.
      This is This is why I went to prime wild they're multitasking machine like you have there and I have they have one also I think it's a little bit better it's a little bit better and it's the same money too or less ? I think , Scratch start for that 1 too . But you what to Tig get the Primeweld 225 about $700 AC /DC TOO. FOR THAT MONEY you get great welder and better everything. You can get better but strat about 2,000 . I really think you'll like that 200 titanium I believe if you're not using it every day as a professional it will hold up pretty good I'm waiting to see I haven't heard anything bad yet anything I've went and they've been out a couple of years now I'm buying about 2 and a 1/2 there's a doubt about 3 maybe 4
