Mate! Did you see Stallone's recent interview when he said that he shouldn't have killed Apollo and just made injured and wheelchair bound? I think he must have seen this video for sure. Man this would be an absolutely beautiful version of the movie.
It would have been more about Apollo and Rocky's friendship. Rocky would help Apollo with physical therapy, and and Apollo would be an encourager for Rocky during training. Apollo would have been VERY difficult to be around at first. 😄
@@dsmith24able yes because rocky movies are 70%drama/character development & 20% training and 10% actual boxing. So it would be fitting to be about rocky and creed's friendship.
According to Stallone, almost every move he ever made was a mistake. In case you haven't noticed, Stallone has turned into quite the pussy over the past 30 years.
Rip Carl Weathers…came back to this video because it was his creed character that got me hooked on what if concepts and character, and it hurts to see a legend go 😢

@@joeswanson6782 it would make the plot of rocky llll much much better if Apollo were to live. This could have changed Creed 2 Apollo would pass away giving Adonis MORE motivation to win and would create a stronger plot. Even if the story is basic it’s still good...
As someone who's been there, this really hits home for me. I became an amputee 16 years ago, and I went from someone who his physical condition, to a point defined who he was. To go from physically fit and imposing, holding my own in local MMA events, to not being able to walk, I can feel and identify with the direction you took Apollo in your rewrite. It would have made for a more compelling fifth entry, with both of them trying to fish that new path in their lives, and what comes next. Dealing with an unknown future, and starting over again, with each other, to be the rock they each lean on. As I did with my wife and daughter, and a close friend, who had lost his leg above the knee, to my below knee loss. Thanks for coming up with this.
3:50 “Death is the ‘easy way out’...” I see what you did there. To those who don’t get it, the song “No Easy Way Out” is in R-IV’s soundtrack. It’s what plays during Rocky’s driving away scene after his and Adrian’s argument over her being terrified Drago will kill him too.
It seems like Apollo’s death immortalized him and added to the mystique of the ultimate boxer who died in the ring. Much like James Deen, Marilyn Monroe, and Heath Ledger etc, people like when celebrities die young and never have to grow old. They can stay young eternally. I think that’s what makes the Creed films deeper. Adonis has no way to know his father other than old fight films and just being a boxer himself. He finds a father in Rocky as well and Rocky finds a son in Adonis after he’s more or less lost everyone.
This is quite phenomenal alternate timeline writing. I must commend you as this does create far more emotional impact and opportunities to expand on the story and character development. Well done indeed.
Grand Moff funny thing is some of what he said happened in creed 2. It was his son who was nearly killed in the ring and had the hospital scene happen. I would almost say that this guy should sue. Some of this is shot for shot of what is in creed 2
Rocky probably wouldn’t have lost his money. Either Apollo would’ve caught wind of the “tax extension” that Rocky was being asked to sign and stopped it or he would have had a team of lawyers get Rocky out of it.
Definitely. We know Apollo loves Pauly like a family friend you wish to see only once a year lol But he would’ve definitely stepped in and stopped Paulie from making another dumb dumb move. Can you imagine all the hilarious scenarios between Paulie and Apollo in an alternate timeline? Think of their meeting in Rocky 3, how it developed, bloomed in Rocky 4. That sorta thing
This version is so much better! This would’ve been Apollo’s ultimate character development. They never should’ve killed Apollo off. With Apollo, the fight would’ve been a little less personal but definitely still intense. This version is totally 10/10!!!
Interesting take. Apollo’s death was supposed to echo Mickey’s death, death of a close friend/mentor, in the hero’s journey. In Apollo’s death Rocky has to deal with the shame and regret, of to him, his friends death. I don’t know if that same emotional impact would carry over, it would carry the same beats as a lot of the other movies that came out at that time.
Rocky 4 should've been Apollo's movie. When I was a kid Apollo was my hero, I didn't care if he was fictional. Every time I watch Rock 4 I get a pain in my chest because of his death.
Had this been the case, we could've had a scene in Rocky Balboa where Apollo brings his grandbabies to Adrian's to meet Uncle Rocky. (That is, the children of Apollo's kids with Mary Ann, Adonis' half-siblings.) Rocky: You got yourself some great grandkids there, Apollo. I'd like a couple a' those myself, but certain parties ain't cooperatin'. An' I ain't gonna mention no names...I'm just gonna look at the party and whistle. (Looks at Robert and whistles. Robert rolls his eyes.) Apollo: C'mon, Rock, give the kid a break...at his age I was sowin' enough wild oats to buy stock in Quaker!
Thanks for the video! I really enjoyed the direction you took it. When I saw Rocky IV in the theatre when I was 11, having grown up during the latter half of the Cold War, I knew then that the thought of the Russians turning on their own and cheering an arch rival was ludicrous. When I went onto study Russian history in college, and learning about the methods of the the KGB, (which Putin is the former head of, and where he learned all of the brutality he unleashed on the Chechens in the 90's), and the former NKVD, no one in the Soviet Union would dared say anything against their own. Granted, the Stalin years were long over, but most still remembered how anyone appearing to be "counter revolutionary" was either shot on the spot, or sent to a gulag in Siberia. The picture you paint is much more realistic in that sense. For all of the brilliance in writing that Stallone has done in the Rocky and now the Rambo stories, my thoughts on having the crowd turn "pro Rocky" are, "nobody bats a thousand."
Great take on Rocky 4. And for the record it was my all time favorite of the series. Pops took me to see it when I was 10. My son is now 10 and Creed 2 this weekend. I'd love to see an Adonis Apollo conversation in a dream or day dream. And with today's tech to make Carl look like he did back in 85. Would be priceless
I literally got goosebumps just listening to this. If they would’ve done an alternate version of Rocky IV and gone with this concept it would’ve been amazing and I would’ve made the movie that much more epic.
Then Back to the Future Part II would be about Future (or rather present Marty) traveling back in time to tell his past (or present?) dumb ass self to get back to the future (or present) before creating any paradoxes and screwing up the timeline.

Not sure how Paulie or Duke were said to die but they left the series with little fanfare and their deaths were of little consequence in Creed, unlike Adrian's for "Rocky Balboa."@@caf110
Stallone says he left the biggest mistake ever killing him off. Says he should of been in a wheelchair. Stallone says he 100% would do it differently. He says it in the new cut of rocky 4 from last year bonus footage

It really would of made the movie amazing. Weathers would of had a chance to do real deep acting and even could of been a best supporting actor chance, maybe I’m going overboard but man I can picture it the way u described so well
Nicely done. What was interesting was that you created an alternate scenario for the movie without it being total fan service. We would have had a much more appealing story arc but also a very complex Apollo coping with the consequences of his arrogance.
If mufasa didn't die they would be no movie. And gwen death wouldn't matter anyway cause amazing spiderman 2 wasn't getting a sequel no matter what lol😄😄😄
I love this version. I actually wish it's how the movie was, but then again if it did we wouldn't have gotten the awesomeness of Creed, which imo is the 2nd best film in the Rocky franchise
I wish they would bring back Clubber Lang. There's a deeper story to be told with him also. After losing to Rocky he goes into a depression. He overcomes his depression through religious faith and spiritual conversion. He resurfaces about 25 to 30 years later having completely reinvented himself with a mellower, more humble and friendly image. That new image opens up opportunities for him to do commercials and TV shows as well as boxing commentary. Clubber more or less becomes Mr. T or George Foreman.
Already a big fan of this series. There's something about Walter that I really just enjoy. He hasn't been able to shine as much in Top 5 ever since Aiyanna and Heather joined him, and they started with the little superfluous sub-plots. I hope this becomes a regular thing for him.
As a die-hard Rocky fan, I have to say that this is such an excellent alternate timeline. I loved 4, don't get me wrong, but it just didn't have the understated depth that all the other movies (yes, even 5) had.
Can we see more of this please? Honestly, I always felt like Creed was a WHAT-IF Story... I mean like I'm so glad they fit into the world... I just love the idea that they somehow found a way for CREED lineage to still go on. Because it was a reach in the beginning of the film, that Creed to have a son that appears out of nowhere. For his wife to adopt his illegitimate child that he had with another woman. So the beginning for me, felt very much like they were reaching. However they made it fit. I think it is people who come up with ideas like this, people like you, that make this possible and it is awesome.
Until this day it’s still upsetting to see Apollo getting beat like that & dying from it, so I wish that didn’t happen to him! This scenario or close to what you made is more acceptable to me! Rocky could have still fought Ivan Drago where I think fans would’ve went to see Rocky 4 and still be a blockbuster! Logically like I guess we all know, Rocky just beating Ivan doesn’t really justify Apollo’s death! So making Apollo get hurt where he will convalesce in time causing Rocky to retaliating & beating Ivan Drago for that seems more equal of a justification! 👍🏻👊🏻✌🏻
Wait , you said “Killing Apollo was taking the easy way out.” Didn’t you watch the film? There’s NO easy way out! There’s no shortcut home! There’s NO easy way out! Giving in , giving in can be wroooonnng! If you don’t believe me , just ask Robert Knepper! Oh , and great vid , liked and subbed.
This was great! I truly enjoyed watching this. I hate that Apollo had to die, but his death did so much for Rocky’s development throughout the rest of the movies, including Creed 1 & 2. I think Rocky 4 loses some of its intensity if Creed stays alive. One of the many reasons everyone cheers so much for Rocky is because of his ability to overcome all obstacle and keep moving forward, including those closest to him dying. Great work though. Glad I found this channel.
I like this. I too thought killing Apollo like they did was lazy and a mistake. It left a void in the Rocky universe that to this day has never really been filled.
I remember watching this in the movie theater! In 1985. I actually was a extra in rocky 6 in las Vegas December 2005.I was wishing and orating for a rocky 6 all in the 90’s! Then i heard about it in February 1999! On the radio! You were astatic! I was jumping for joy!
I honestly think that if you were able to get the rights to do this story, as a cartoon or a Pixar style movie, it would get some interest. I love this idea. 👍
Realistically, something like this is what should have happened, because there is no way that the referee would have let Apollo come out for the second round. Of course then you lose the angle of Apollo being angry with Rocky, but then you get Apollo being angry with himself, and realizing the truth of Rocky's "you against you" question from earlier.
I really appreciate your love for the Rocky franchise, especially 4 meaning so much to you. From the soundtrack to every pert of the movie I loved all of it. With that being said I think you misunderstood a big part of Apollo’s character. Even if Rock throws in the towel and saves his life there’s absolutely ZERO chance Apollo flys to Siberia to let Drago and his team see him as an invalid live and in the flesh. You mentioned it out yourself. Apollo isn’t this great selfless character. He’s actually quite the opposite. He may have forgiven Rocky for throwing in the towel but he never would come face to face with Drago. No at least till maybe the Adonis vs Victor press conference.
Bad injury that put him out of boxing permanently? Or died of brain trauma from hitting the ground or broken rib. Would've loved to see Apollo train Adonis
I loved it! Well done very well thought out what if scenario I wanted to see. Having Apollo paralyzed but alive gave me Kickboxer vibes. Apollo is my favorite character in the Rocky franchise, so it was a big heart pain for me to see him die. I am glad I got to see the uncut version of Ivan Drago vs. Apollo Creed because there we see Rocky wasn't quick enough to throw the towel. Also in the uncut version Apollo put up much more fight. What it means to the first Creed movie is that Apollo might have came to introduce Adonis to Rocky and ask him personally to train Adonis.
What nobody realizes here.. is that stallone was scripted to die in rocky 5 but the producers wanted a rocky 6 so that idea got erased and the script was redone! The franchise went on!

You told one of the most genuine stories I have heard in a loooong while.
Great idea. I think Rocky developed this sort of emotional maturity with Rocky Balboa and Creed. What you did here was excellent, imo.
I think killing off Apollo was a bad decision, second to Rocky he’s one of the most interesting characters in the rocky franchise.
This concept would definitely make an already entertaining classic even better!! 😀
Damn! That was good storytelling Walter 💪🏻
Apollo creed was such a great character.
Wow- this is a whole different film and would have been amazing to see!
Wow! I love this concept! I wonder how this would have affected Rock V
Tommy Gunn kills Apollo in a street fight lol

As a die-hard Rocky fan, I have to say that this is such an excellent alternate timeline. I loved 4, don't get me wrong, but it just didn't have the understated depth that all the other movies (yes, even 5) had.
I love your alternative story line. I would've loved this version, even though this is my favorite Rocky movie of all time.
Solid video. And great job on the artistry and the theory. Thanks for sharing!
Cool idea for a show looking forward to more installments
great alternate universe guys ! Thank you for your hard work on this
Can we see more of this please? Honestly, I always felt like Creed was a WHAT-IF Story... I mean like I'm so glad they fit into the world... I just love the idea that they somehow found a way for CREED lineage to still go on. Because it was a reach in the beginning of the film, that Creed to have a son that appears out of nowhere. For his wife to adopt his illegitimate child that he had with another woman. So the beginning for me, felt very much like they were reaching. However they made it fit. I think it is people who come up with ideas like this, people like you, that make this possible and it is awesome.

Agreed
This was awesome & wished your version would've been the one Stallone used. Good stuff man
More Fanscriptions please!!!!!!!!!
Dude, this made so much more sense!!! Your a genius !
please do more episodes, this was so cool :)
Apollo doesn't feel so good
mcBUFFfluff lol
*Doesn't
MR. STARK
As a matter of fact Apollo doesn’t feel shit from the waist down
Dude, rewriting one of the best movies ever takes some balls my friend. I don’t think your version would have been bad, but damn.
OMG! this is pretty amazing! Please more of this.
10:49 to 11:05 MyGod that would have been an epic transition! Well done!
This is actually a great idea, and I agree the changes would all have improved the movie.
Not sure if this has been brought up anyone else, but Apollo's fate in this version is almost identical to Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump.
Oooh, I love this new series! It's so good! I can't wait for the next one!
THIS PROFOUNDLY AFFECTED MY PERCEPTION ON THE SERIES! YOU REALLY HAVE A GREAT VISION WHEN IT COMES TO FILMS!!!
I love the rocky movies
A thousand more of these, please.
What if i told u,creed 3 comes out later of 2022
This is perfect and i also like the rufio vid too! Like Watchmojo's "characters we wished didn't croak"
I love this I honestly think if they kept apollo alive it would have made for so much character development in creed 1 and 2
I remember watching this in the movie theater!
Yes or even a motion comic as Robocop Archive did for Robocop 2: Corporate Wars
Realistically, something like this is what should have happened, because there is no way that the referee would have let Apollo come out for the second round. Of course then you lose the angle of Apollo being angry with Rocky, but then you get Apollo being angry with himself, and realizing the truth of Rocky's "you against you" question from earlier.
Great Video :D
A vid like that for Ivan Drago would be awesome. What character and scenes would you add and take out, to add more to Dragos character.
I wanted to do so much more with Drago! He had potential to be way more than just a villain. Make sure you check back when the podcast goes up!
Your writing is amazing, good luck bro
U should do an animated film on this. If u can get permission. Awesome concept!!
Definitely would have been a better movie! Nice job!
You just perfected a great film. I would've loved to have seen you version. 👍🏾
I was skeptical but this was really interesting.
i always wondered about this, and this is exactly how i pictured it going. great job.
What nobody realizes here.. is that stallone was scripted to die in rocky 5 but the producers wanted a rocky 6 so that idea got erased and the script was redone! The franchise went on!
Man I want this Rocky 4 Now... Outstanding Job
