What do you think about a muffler mod on a 4 mix Stihl Weedeater to help get rid of some of the Heat? And I totally agree with your thinking on the 50 to 1 Ultra mix it's too thin.
Hello, can you tell me what the channels you show are for, I have a 064av with a 54mm cylinder, but it has too much compression so that the engine cannot be started, it turns easily and nicely without a spark plug, I suspect that one of the channels is not in its place because the cylinder is from an unknown manufacturer, or is the key in these additional channels?
Almost a must to use the aluminum flywheel. The 064's and early 066's share the same crankshaft. The flywheel side of the crankshaft is smaller than the later "poly" flywheel 660 crankshaft. there are ways around that, but if you have am 064 you can bolt on a 54mm cylinder. You'll just have to slot the bolt holes in the cylinder to fit the 064 bolt pattern.
@@chevy7134 There are several flywheel and ignition coil packages for the 064/066 "short case" saws. The chainsaw forums have threads with detailed info and part numbers. A quick search should clear up what goes with what.
How do you epoxy the intake? Is it just 2 part epoxy like devcon or something similar? I have heard people talk about it but never seen it. I have always wondered about it and what the reason for doing it is.
Yup. You can use devcon or original JB Weld. Rough up the application surface to bare aluminum and don't use any solvents to clean it. It's just a way to keep you within your numbers after machining. I don't do it all the time and only in the intake.
I order it off eBay. There's a distributor in Ohio that ships Priority Mail in a flat rate box. It's up to $100 for 6qt. I used to pay 65ish. There is another seller that has it for $80.

I have a 064 Scott Kunz built several years ago with a ms650 cylinder and lots of flow work that runs pretty fair 😉

I think it needs a better cam to really get some gains. I've pulled the screen and nothing really changed. The factory opening is pretty generous.

Also building a 064 hybrid with a 066 mahle cylinder & I was wondering if you can still use the 064 flywheel?
