    Even though you didn't go to salalah in the summer it is still beautiful, the good thing is that no body goes there , usually its packed... thinks for the video .

      Thanks for watching! Yes, exactly, it isn't quite the same scenery in winter, but much quieter. It's also a much more pleasant temperature around the rest of Oman, so an ideal time for us to visit for an overall Oman trip.

      @GoingTheWholeHogg  3 роки тому

      We try to remember, but sometimes we forget to tell people to like it too! I think this was one of the last videos I edited with 'free' copyright free music and it would take so long to find appropriate music to use that I think I gave up and just looped the track! After this I started paying for a music service which makes life much easier, and hopefully easier on the ears too ; )

      @@GoingTheWholeHogg Thankyou for your reply! We only have 10 days to explore so are torn on where to go. Do you think visiting the wadis close to Muscat, jebel sham, nizwa and masirah island would be enough to see in that time frame? Id love to venture south but unsure if we have time. i've watched these videos so many times, I really appreciate the effort you guys put in.
      Did you have to apply for a permit to use your drone?

    • @GoingTheWholeHogg
      @GoingTheWholeHogg  5 років тому +1

      Johan Roggeveen So glad they’ve been useful! I definitely wouldn’t try to fit in the south as well. The plan you mentioned is already enough for 10 days I’d say. Be sure to check the weather for Masirah Island before heading over there in case the boats are cancelled and you get stuck! Wahiba Sands is also a great experience, as is driving Wadi Bani Auf (if you have a 4x4) and staying at Misfah Old House in Misfah village. These things aren’t in the videos because we did them first time round! If you skipped Masirah you could fit the other things into a bit of a loop itinerary from Muscat. But if you’re looking for less touristy places then Masirah is great. We weren’t asked about any drones or anything at the airport. We only flew it in remote places when there was nobody at all around. Good luck with the itinerary planning!

    Very nice insight of Oman. Thank you. What about the drone shots you made? As far as I know there are no drones allowed in the county, whatsoever. Allthough most likely a fine place to fly. Any suggestions?

    What fabulous land and seascapes. It looks so pristine. Do local people not use the beaches very much?

    • @GoingTheWholeHogg
      @GoingTheWholeHogg  3 роки тому

      It certainly is. Depends on the beach I guess, more remote ones were usually pretty quiet in our experience, whereas those closer to towns were usually particularly busy around sunset.

    I'm going to Oman in a few weeks and your video make me even more excited about it!

    Hi guys, this is an incredible video, thank you for this effort. Can you please tell me the name/coordinates of the place which starts at min 5:30 of this video until about min 7:00 I think, is it all one place? It’s rare to see a green riverbank in this region. Can you also mention the name of the wadi which you start showing in minute 8:50 of the video. Much appreciated!

    • @GoingTheWholeHogg
      @GoingTheWholeHogg  5 років тому

      Hi Mohammad, thanks so much! The green area is Wadi Darbat and the area surrounding it. It's just north of Salalah and would be even greener during the khareef season. Khor Rouri is the area on the coast at 5:30, the waters from Wadi Darbat flow out to the sea here. The coordinates are 17.0311, 54.4352. We camped at coordinates 17.1022, 54.4519. The wadi at 8:50 is Wadi Suneik, 17.6012, 55.2555. So glad you enjoyed it, you can read our blog posts about Oman over on the website, with lots more still to come - www.goingthewholehogg.com/destinations/middle-east/oman/

      Going The Whole Hogg Thank you for all this valuable info! I did read your blog :) Do you have specific location recommendations suitable for a family with young children (6 and under)?

    • @GoingTheWholeHogg
      @GoingTheWholeHogg  5 років тому

      @@mealayan I guess the beach/coastal areas we visited are probably the most suitable for families - Musandam, Yiti Beach, Bhandar Al Khiran, Fazayah Beaches. Bimmah Sinkhole is also family friendly. On our first trip to Oman we went to Misfat Al Abriyeen, staying at Misfah Old House, and this was gorgeous and suitable for families. The more adventurous wadis and mountain hikes are probably too much for young kids. Hope this helps!
