In Europe we build houses more stable, even if we don't have hurricanes at all. Best wall material is made of ceramic gravel, blocks that are giving warm and protect from heat at the same time. Heating is essential here and also cooling. 15cm walls are of no use. Wall should be with insulation in the middle and then finishing can be added right on the outer and inner surfaces of those blocks.

I was watching a bit of how to build in this civil engineering class. Interesting the trusses and building of the second floor, stairs etc. You can relax and watch but ha you'd be tired doing all that. I enjoyed watching the fitting of the roof tiles and the outside siding. Have to finish that attic for storage. :). Good view of the mountain.

Yes Normal houses are built with plywood. 1/2 inch to 5/8 inch on the exterior, including roof, 3/4 inch or thicker on the subfloor. I worked for a contactor while I was in junior high and high school in the late 70's and early 80's. Started working concrete foundations, moved to framing, then roofing. We contracted drywall specialists for the interior and electrical subcontractors. We built 19 houses between 77 and 84 in the county I grew up in. All 19 are still standing and are still stylish after 40+ plus years.

Why are they not bricked? New builds in UK are mostly timber-framed and insulated from the elements and then outside brick by brick to the top. Maybe it’s just me but this just looks cheap and built to last maybe 20-30 years, and the roof slates, is that even proper roofing when it’s installed like a laminate floor 😢
These aren't prefabbed, they are not modular, I built both working for a contractor while in high school. These are stick frame built on site. The only major components built off site were the second floor joists and the roofing trusses. Those are built in lumber yards with special equipment and you can make dozens of each in a day then ship them to the site. Prefabbed and modular homes are built in a factory where they are about 90% finished then trucked to the site and lifted into place by cranes. The go together quick but these were no prefabs.

У нас какая то фирма занимается постройкой крупно блочных домов из пено бетона, знакомый обсчитал все варианты и выбрал этот, откопали залили фундамент, после блоков из 10-15 примерно сложили коробку, стены и стыки идеальные, штукатурка по минимуму, толщина стен как у обычного блока, очень быстро поставили капитальный дом. То что здесь ребята построили, больше чем на дачу не выглядит. Строил такой домик, но добротней, дерево антикорил, прикладывал пленку с ватой, пенил и тд, Фины от мышей у таких строений, по низу приделывают ленты из тоненькой метало сетки, что бы норы не прогрызали, если мыши заведутся, спать невозможно от ихнего шебуршания

cookie cutter houses.. cheaply made.. cracks in the outer wall (panels not aligned) and no spray foam...!! what a crap house.. one strong wind and the whole thing is flat.. the crazy part is that someone would pay $500K + for this garbage. if only they know how it was built.

As an electrical contractor I have to say these are done way above code. Never seen so many outlets in a kitchen ever. Lots in the bedrooms to.

cookie cutter houses.. cheaply made.. cracks in the outer wall (panels not aligned) and no spray foam...!! what a crap house.. one strong wind and the whole thing is flat.. the crazy part is that someone would pay $500K + for this garbage. if only they know how it was built.
