This is a wonderfully informative lecture dotted with occasional wry observations. He perfectly illuminates the Bernstein lagend and legacy, and how superbly he transfers the composers orchestral writing to the piano.
A fascinating upload.
This is one of the best lectures on American music that I have ever heard. Eloquent and moving. Thank you.

Richard Kogan, MD is a concert pianist & psychiatrist - a genius who enlightens and entertains with such warmth. I like his voice too.
Wonderful concert and lecture, captivating from start to finish. Dr. Kogan manages to convey both Bernstein's genius and his humanity. The opening rendition of "America" was dazzling, and the ending with Bernstein's farewell and "Somewhere" was poignant and sublime.
An absolutely amazing analysis of this musician. And Dr. Kogan's musical talent is spectacular

A multi-talented genius with super communicative skills with youngsters to enhance one's JOY in music Pythagorus (mathematician) said music was a gift from the gods. Bernstein was that!
