“Sou desu ne” just translates into the polite form of yeah so you know he’s a real weeb when he doesn’t use Japanese right

@@raspberryjam I'm no expert, so don't take my word as gospel or anything, but i'm pretty sure 'sou desu ne?' is either 'is that right?' or 'isn't that right?' depending on the context with it often being shortened to just 'ne?' for 'right?'.
i have also heard "Sou desu ne." used to mean:
"Yes, I see."
"Don't you agree?"
and "So that's how it is."
and "ne" used in the same way as:
"yeah?"
"eh?"
"huh?"
with the context of asking for agreement or confirmation, basically what the phrase means overall.

They pronounce "sou desu ne" (そうですね) just fine. It just doesn't make a lot of sense in context though.
And when I was in Japan I got chased by people with katanas a lot. I have no clue where they hid them, but man, could they wield them! Unfortunately for them I run pretty fast.

I was a freshman and a senior in high school when those videos came out. I loved them at the time because I was a huge weeb back then. Now that I am nearly 30, it makes me cringe looking back on it. I got to give them some credit though. They are very creative and might as well be considered UA-cam classics.
What are you saying? I would still be listening to these bangers of I knew they existed back in the day. This kind of nostalgia is something you can't just find anywhere, dare I say it's unique to that era, where people didn't care because a lot of what was posted couldn't be monetized.

I was there in high school. Twilight hate was a character trait, it was an easy conversation starter for why you were the coolest nerd girl. There were a ton of bands like this, um..umbrella... You Favorite Martian, is one of the first to mind.... Starbomb too, but that has Egoraptor/Game Grumps so it might have been later.
people absolutely LOVED to hate Twilight back in the day. It was one of those things where if you liked it you were like the internet's favorite punching bag. It was kinda the same as being a one direction or Justin Bieber fan. Most of it was just not letting teenage girls like things though and not hating it for the reasons it actually sucked.
I remember being a teenage girl when those were popular, the twilight fans were always so pushy and trying to hype it up to me even when I told them multiple times I'm not into vampires. My mom gave me a copy after she read it and I couldn't get past the first page because Bella was whining insufferably about first world problems. Though now with a much wider view on romance novels I can say, Bella isn't nearly as insufferable as Rhiannon from the K-novel "I don't want to be loved" and I read much further into that than I did Twilight
