Fun fact: the sky-cruise was actually a 3D model made by a teenager and may or may not be a real concept, I’m no expert but the mass bulky pill-shape along with the amount of cargo it would need more then just massive jet engines to fly and probably would be impossible to build and would almost crash immediately, not to make you more disappointed but they would need to hire thousands if not millions of captains and crew, and would be almost quadrillions of dollars.
This is just from rumors, and most likely doesn’t exist, but the Lockheed Martin TR-3 “Black Manta” may be one of the craziest planes of all time. The TR-3 is a spycraft, similar to the SR-71, but it’s a black triangle that looks weird. The TR-3A would just give locations for F-117A targets during the First Gulf War. But the TR-3B is the star of the show. If in existence, it could use reverse-engineered antigravity drives from a crashed alien spacecraft. Another theory is that it uses plasma to create a magnetic field which repels it from the ground when active. What’s scary is, Lockheed Martin has a patent cold fusion reactor they claim can fit in the fuselage of an F-16.
Lizerally everybody: "No aviation disaster will ever be worse than Tenerife, March 27, 1977!" Meanwhile the "SkyCruise" being doomed to become the airbound version of the Titanic...
The entire idea of a cruise is that you travel towards a location whilst having comfort and fun af your disposal. The idea of flying to something that is also flying, with air drag and planning in mind, is redicilous for something that has no use for being in the sky instead of being on the ground.
I’m astounded at the gullibility of so many of the commenters. The concepts are all fake except the sky cruise - it makes total sense, although it needs to be scaled up a bit to be economically feasible.
The coolest plane concept ever developed is the American flying nuclear powered aircraft carrier jet. Thing would be able to stay in the air for months at a time without refueling, be able to launch and retrieve parasite fighter jets, and was even vtol capable. I think this concept should be explored now with our more modern advanced technologies.
