- Join me in "Exploring Chetco River: Rockhounding Adventures in Southern Oregon!" Located near Brookings, Oregon, Chetco River offers a diverse treasure trove of rocks waiting to be discovered. From stunning red and green jasper to quartz adorned with beautiful black mica inclusions, each find tells a unique geological story.
During this adventure, I also encountered basalt formations with intricate iron oxide veins and sparkling epidote crystals, highlighting the area's rich geological diversity. One standout discovery was a sizable chunk of multi-colored jasper, too large for my rock tumbler but perfect for mineral oil enhancement to bring out its vibrant hues temporarily.

It sure is a beautiful place! You found some pretty nice pieces of jasper's, that big one is very cool but my favourite is 4:04 "rainbow jasper rock"😆 and yes we see faces in rock's too
