There was a brief time in early 2000s where you'd be ridiculed for being a fan of that band that had the same 10 songs constantly playing on the radio during summer of 97 and everyone was now sick of. But every true fan knew that Sublime was so much more than that. I witnessed their popularity grow exponentially after that initial pullback. Maybe it's the streaming platforms that gave everyone quick access to their other material that catapulted them. Either way, their music is too good and vibe too unique. The spirit of Sublime will never die.
lol, i was there, I remember the whole rant about how much he loved his dog, funny shit...that was a good punk rock show with all my favorite local bands
Right on man super jealous. Quick question... do you know where this show was held on the campus? looks like they had it at a speedway or is that the velodrome? Im trying to find the location.
Especially true for these hometown shows. They played so many shows in SoCal, odds are many people in attendance had seen them numerous times. So it was like one giant party. It's interesting to compare their setlists from SoCal to say, East Coast shows. They took a lot fewer risks on the road.
Brad was a real naturally gifted singer... I don't know if he's schooled.. somehow i doubt it, but at 26m he sings STP beautifully.. I love this whole show.

I was at this show.. looking back from all footage compiled I never seen Brad have so much fun..just a different demeanor from any other footage I ever seen..too me they were on it this night and he was enjoying every minute of it
He was drunk and comfortable in his own skin and able to really let loose. I saw him in Las Vegas at the hard rock where they really made them behave and sign contracts and he was sober and clean from heroin it was right before he died. I’m a musician, and a fellow opiate dependence person, I see the signs in all of his performances and songs. His best performance is unfortunately we’re on drugs or drunk. His clean performances he seemed uncomfortable but I think he was uncomfortable unless he was high he was brilliant I knew him from the music industry. Man, one of the best live shows I’ve seen on UA-cam of sublime. One have been cool to see them live. Sublime was the first band I downloaded in the late 90’s on Napster and Kazza. Still one of my favorite bands.

awesome show, that bass too tho, what a sound, that must have been amazing in person, that pa system is just pumping it out. great to have this recording, would have been nice to have more video time of the entire band.
When they were on, and when Brad got the right pre-show fix (too much and he'd be somnolent/apathetic and sans fix he was sloppy and would be holding on for dear life just trying to get through the set ASAP)... they had the reputation of being somewhat hit-or-miss in terms of live performances.
