    Just FYI there's a tooltip in game that says that if a dot appears in the center of your crosshairs when you're aiming at an enemy, that's a sign that you're in your gun's optimal range.

    HUGE TIP FOR GUN! There’s a chest in Ward 13 near gem, second floor. Code is 0415 that’s on ur flashlight. Chest gives key leads to purple “mp5” as a handgun. Head north to shipping containers and there’s a locked door after a “hallway”.

    1: You can change your shoulder perspective when aiming down sights which can come in useful when peaking corners.
    2: There is actually a small red marker that will appear when standing next to walls etc to let you know when your line of fire is blocked by terrain, in which case you need to move away from the wall/obstacle/whatever you're standing next to a little.
    3: General advice: There are almost always more enemies than you can see. Whenever you engage an enemy, be prepared to face down not only that single one, but possibly an entire horde.
    4: During the tutorial you will be given the choice between four different mods to craft with the gland thing that dropped from the mantis. Do not worry about your choice too much - you can buy the other mods for scrap from the vendor. In fact, you should buy at least one of the others so that you start off with both your primary and secondary weapon carrying a mod. I recommend the heal shot, as you start off with only three uses of your dragon heart inbetween rests and these may not last you long. The heal shot allows you to explore for longer and recover missing health in situations where the dragonheart would be wasteful.

    Tip related to taking a break from boss fights kinda; hoping into a public game *will not* affect *your* story progress, so it’s a great way to go get more XP, new items, and more crafting materials without having to go mess up your own story progress, then you can come back to your story and pick back up on those annoying bosses or Dungeon events you needed to take a break from.

If you want to see what how your stats affect you. You really can’t overstate how important the sound cues are in the game. It’s not just about alerting you to enemy packs or elites. If you want to make several boss fights quite a bit easier, learn to listen for the sound cues. Those who have tried Annihilation on veteran or above know how useful they are with that fight. It will change how you approach a boss when you realize what’s going on at times by listening rather than watching

    In each adventure area you roll, you can find a single similacrum somewhere in the tile sets. This rare material will let you upgrade your weapons to max level but also allows you to purchase additional relic charges from wallace, which also might help if you're struggling with a boss.
    Also, the damage reduction you can get for armor and flat bonuses caps out at a combined 80% (check under advanced stats in the menu), so you don't need to go past that if you're going for a tank build.

  • @darkmirror21

    To add to the tip about dodge, neutral dodge is also a thing. All weight levels can do neutral dodge but unlike From The Ashes, at least from what I've noticed, the dodge does get slower the higher your weight and no, you don't flop with ultra weight either. Not only that, but neutral dodge also allows for extra moveset for melee. Personally, I like the scepter's neutral > normal attack because of aoe but I won't say no to the charge attack's kick in the face either. I know it doesn't dodge everything (like ground aoes and the like) but it's great for, say, The Red Prince trying to take a swipe at you. What I'm trying to say is that it's generally better to do neutral dodge than directional if you can help it.

    Following up on the relic mod tip: As you get upgrades for relics that you already have, your relics will automatically improve, rather than like other games where you need to equip more powerful ones when you get them. Fallout showed really early ones which aren't that powerful but as you progress to harder difficulties, these start to make a significant impact (think 20% ranged crit damage with Mythic relic mods from Apocalypse).

    The audio cues are HUGE to get down. I was epxecting this to be like a FromSoft souls title where for the most part, the world is pretty statis in it's enemy placement. In elden ring, the enmies moved around but for the most part, when you respawned, and go to an area again, the enemies will largely be the same each time.
    R2 is like a mix of Diablo 2 procedurally generated levels and Risk of Rain where there is a chance of new enemy placement each go. I didn't know this at first and was like "why do new enemies just appear each run thru and then it hit me...those audio cues mean something. For me, I found the Handler/ Summoner is a pretty awesome class combination, cuz doggo destroys ground enemies with bleed, and when you get the Summoner class to level 5, you get the Flyers summons which are super good for hitting ground or aerial enemies. Also Handler as primary class lets your dog revive you WITH YOUR OWN DRAGON HEART when you go down. Which the Handler and the Challenger both have a Prime Perk that’s a self revive, but the Challenger has a 10 minute cooldown, whereas the Handler has a two minute cooldown. For me it seems like the Handlers revive always gets you to half health, (but I don’t have it leveled up all the way) whereas leveling up the Challenger can revive with full Health.

    Good loot can be anywhere.

    And each relic upgrade applies to all relics you have.

  • @robertkarp2070
    @robertkarp2070 Рік тому +3

    You can upgrade your weapons often. As soon as you go out and gain some scraps, you can come back to the home base, get iron from Cassidy and go upgrade a weapon. It makes a huge difference from barely damaging the elites while they are chasing you, to almost one shotting them before you've even leveled up. Make sure to upgrade each of your weapons that you keep in each of your weapon slots. Just select one set of weapons and stick with them until you've picked up something better out in the world. I carry the widowmaker, that sword that was initially given to me and that submachinegun we get from the cargo units. I'm still new to the game but the best way so far in surviving has been steadily increasing my weapon damage constantly.

    • @AntiSocialHero
      @AntiSocialHero Рік тому +1

      Yeah, I don’t think I agree with this tip because if you over level your guns then you increase the world level, and any other guns will feel much weaker until you level those up. You end up running most of the game with the starter weapons this way. Or, you end up grinding unnecessarily for mats to upgrade the other weapons equally.

    • @robertkarp2070
      @robertkarp2070 Рік тому

      @@AntiSocialHero and @johnlevinson, I've gotten new weapons and leveled them up pretty quickly. I haven't had any trouble gathering mats and leveling up other weapons that I feel might be useful. Not all weapons need to be leveled up if you're not ever going to use them. I'd rather scrap or sell off some but the game won't let you. The Cube Gun is a good one in most situations, however, it lags out in heavy combat situations or when teamed up with other players. I haven't picked up a long weapon yet that matches the Widowmaker. I have the crossbow and it has pretty good burst damage, however it doesn't have that zoom in scoping ability like the Widowmaker.

    It's worth mentioning that the Challanger can offset the weight for stamina when rolling - so you can have heavier armour and still roll fast.
    As a souls player - I would call it "Pannic rolling", just case you know. It's a genre thing, it's more fun to say ;-) Cause you usually panic ;-)

    Nice! A few things The stamina trick is a great idea. Also, I thought the fog horn was for an elite because one almost invariably followed the extra minions. One other tip for people who are truly thick like me: after the tutorial, you get something to turn in for your first weapon mod and you get to pick from four options. It took me a bit to notice it, but once you pick one, you can still get the others by just paying scrap for them. I thought you had to get another boss part to buy the others until I looked more closely. The other thing I would say is that there are some mechanics I found unclear. If you see something on the screen you don't understand look it up. I played a medic and there was a blue bar that was filling up and once full... it did nothing. Turns out, if you are down a charge on your relic (the healing device) it will refresh a charge every time the bar fills up. Since I was playing solo, I was just using the fast healing ability not the limited resource relic so I was never down a charge. Who knew... 😀

  • @michaelstrong8841
    @michaelstrong8841 Рік тому

    1. Break everything for random scrap drops
    2. Strafe is as good as a dodge roll in some ecenarios
    3. Platform jumps and ladders give you breather time to heal and reload while larger enemies follow you
    4. Upgrade your weapons evenly and avoid upgrading anything you arent actively using, materials are scarce
    5. Hold down on the d-pad with a controller for emotes

  • @jeffythebird3841
    @jeffythebird3841 Рік тому +1

    1. Reloading before a dodge will continue to reload during the dodge
    2. Neutral dodging is your main life saver, rolling is good until it puts you out of position or into an attack
    3. Liquid escape is way more useful than people realize, if you host games to randoms and they split off? good, they can get items you miss and vice versa, you can interact with a door while they are on the other side of the map, and then they liquid escape so you can use the door, if they die randomly, please for the love of all of us who took new players to all the secrets we could show them, please, just dont spend 20 minutes running over to 'investigate' how they died, ive seen some absolute saints who will sit there while you do all of that.
    4. Less of a tip and just advice, weight will only effect your neutral dodge no matter your weight if you get a ring off Reggies shop, makes your dodge light roll regardless of encumbrance, so if you want heavier armor, build that into your loadout and go best armor, but if you like you can build a cool outfit and improve your dodging, armor doesnt hold up to a combo in a corner with your cheeks spread all out of stamina

    I keep coming back to my Engineer/Warden build using combat drone with the Phetyr armor set, Twisted Idol to max out armor and using Nightfall and Enigma guns maxxed out and also Monarch with buffs. Bosses are easier to beat using the heavy turret of the Engineer. I tried every other class combo out and armor set except Leto set (impossible to get!) even Summoner/Archon and they were too weak and squishy. Handler/Medic was best dual class at first but love the Engineer/Warden combo now.

    In the world N'eurd (in this Dark Souls like shooter) I maxed out my class to level 10 before I even got to the boss which means I level grinded dying to a flood wave of enemies, got to the boss and died so much so I was stuck for like a day or two until I upgraded one of my weapons to do 950 damage per critical shot and that's how I beat it because I needed to do damage quickly before the boss hit the next phase and I get bombarded with him throwing stuff at me because he's about to die, I didn't get discouraged I refused to walk away and then I deleted my character because for me and my play style it was the wrong class, now I have The Handler and die less, got a better weapon and just now figuring out the shard/heart thing, The Handler is good for me because I don't play online so I needed a companion to help get me up LOL I spend most of my time running until I cluster up a ton of enemies then turn around and unleash when I get to a narrow doorway so it's a straight shot

    Just a heads up for people who haven't played the first game there 100% is an ultra weight dodge. It's just not directional. If you hit the dodge button without putting in a direction you will do a quick duck and you'll back away a bit. The duck dodge is the best dodge. It has a very fast recovery and you can chain them pretty easily to avoid combos. It does not put a lot of distance between you and enemies but it's very powerful.
    This dodge is available for ALL weights.

    Don't rush weapon upgrades! The game evaluates your overall progression and gives you a "power level" score, which your highest level Archetypes and Weapons contribute to. The game constantly tries to keep the enemies balanced against you, denoted by the number next to the name of the map you're on, and this can make trying out new weapons extremely difficult since they'll be significantly under where the game thinks you should be in terms of power.

    My only 2 complaints about Remnant 2 are that 1: you can’t upgrade armor anymore, which I understand why cuz they want you to experiment with different, armor combos. 2: there’s a limit on Trait Points, Remnant; From The Ashes let you level EVERY trait to maximum, but Remnant 2 wants you to either pick one Build and put relative points into Traits, or you can use the Orb of Undoing to refund all your Trait Points if you wanna try another Build. (Buy the Orb of Undoing from Wally boy up the big construction looking area)
