THANK YOU! Everyone is so judgmental these days, Bullying people for their pieces they create is so far from punk values, and not everything has to be decorated with bands for it to be truly punk.
i’m a 16 yo just getting into punk. I think your style is sick!!🤘don’t let anyone put you down. People on the internet like you inspire me to keep dressing in the way i love!
ur the most wholesome person i have seen in awhile, coming from the goth scene i feel like diy is such an important thing but sometimes it takes good amount of time to learn about it + coming up with ideas in the first place is not always easy so we should just encourage/inspire others more who dont know anything about diy and what it means creating ur own stuff and not just buying from big companies or fast fashion.
You get my sub for your rant on the gatekeeping bullshit. Punk has always been about doing things yourself- whether it looks sloppy or perfect. The people who talk shit we used to call the "punk police", they go around checking your "uniform". Also your crust pants are legit... thats how real real crust pants are "made"- you get some pants, put some patches of bands, when they start getting holes then you get a "base layer". Nothing wrong with making a base layer, but that used to just be from wear and tear. Up the punks!
Hey there. 64 year-old punk here from the late 70s. It doesn't matter if you wear a suit and tie (I was just wearing band shirts and worn jeans by the mid-80s). If you like the music and don't mind or like being called a punk rocker...that's all that matters. Hell, you don't even have to like the term. Just the music. The attitude. The DIY.
love ur DIYs! altho I'm not part of the punk scence myself, im heavily inspired by the DIY aspect! It sucks to see how many online forums dunk on beginner DIYers...great vid!
THE WHOLE POINT OF BEING ALTERNATIVE IS TO BE OUTSIDE OF THE NORM, THE FACT THAT "ALTERNATIVE" PEOPLE ARE SAYING THAT SOME PEOPLES CRAFTS LOOK BAD OR WEIRD ARE NOT ALTERNATIVE BECAUSE THEY'RE TRYING TO MAKE OTHER ALT PEOPLE LOOK LIKE THEM/FIT INTO THEIR BOX OF WHAT LOOKS GOOD.
I’m around 13 am in getting into punk style (my dad is so I’ve been listening to the music since like 7) umm and if you want to start making patches by yourself you can download a light box app onto whatever you use and trace it off there that’s what I use and the majority of my patches turn out very well I think!! Also I love the suicidal tendencies hat+ everything else 🗿🤘
I LOVE THE HAT!!! I love love love everything that you made it looks super sick :) I agree with what you are saying, and Im glad to hear other people call out the negativity in the scene!
Jacket looks Good, if you get some POSCA PAINT MARKERS it makes really easy to paint the edges white or do anything really. Its a good paintmarker brand and works for leather
In my day nobody would say that shit out in the open cause they knew it was sounded bad, but the elitists noticed and behaved towards you a certain way. Elitism in the scene wont ever go anywhere bro, kids wanna act cool, they wanna be cool, you got to be wearing the perfect uniform to be cool. At some point though you realized none of that shit matters. At some point I started feeling embarrassed I was dressing like everyone else, after all, it was in stark opposition to the ideals of non-conformity that original drew me in.
Ayy fuck yeah bro fashion is damn near dead. Everything will go diy keep pushing the positive message luv the jacket luv crass, luv bad brains, if u fw them def look into sum subhuman patches/pins and conflict patches always look sick
I hangout with a ton of people in the punk scene but I dont listen to as much punk as I could be listnening to. I still really love DIY and stuff but I havent expirimented with clothing. You think I gotta be into the music to start making my own stuff? or can I just enjoy it on the creative side not so much the music side (not that i dislike the music i just dont know much about it). I know its super entwined with the music culture. Great video though I really like your clothes especially the pants!
@@pestomanpapi great question! I think anyone can get into DIY culture. Punk is heavily entwined with DIY but not all punks do diy and not all diy is punk DIY is present in many different subcultures, skaters, punk, decora, etc. So in a nutshell, dress however you want, you don’t gotta be punk or listen to punk to make your own cool clothes.
This is one of the reasons I personally feel Hardcore is superior. Just wearing mosh ready cargo shorts and a regular tshirt.... Carry the core in your heart...punk seems to be a lot of rubbing it in peoples faces with the style aspect.
@@Wildwiggy69 100% agree. All the hardcore shows I been too 99% of mfs look like your average Joe just a band tee and some cargo shorts. That’s half the reason I honesty kinda hate the term punk, the word is such an ick for me now. Hardcore all the way
