I must admire the job you have done repairing this boat, but as the designer of the TC670, I am horrified to see what the previous owner (builder) did to my design. Not only did he make substantial alterations to the design (foredeck, aft deck, centerboard etc.) but the amount of rot and degradation you found shows what a poor job was done of the initial construction. The boat was designed for full epoxy saturation construction, and that rot you found in the starboard bow and elsewhere simply should never have happened. To you guys, top marks for saving her. She wasn't designed as a power boat, but I was surprised the speed you managed to get on her with a 10 hp motor. Well done.

Wow, thank you for your comment! We've been nervous about the reaction we may receive from converting her to a power boat, however having the support of the designer means a lot!! We love the look, feel, stability and low tow weight of your boat and are thoroughly enjoying using her. Thank you for your comment and support ☺️

Thanks. It's a great unit for your family adventures. I'm looking forward to hearing about your investment so far. I think it will compare favourably against current prices for a caravan or fancy, land based camping set up.

It certainly is comparable to land based camping. There are pros and cons for both setups though; as with any setup there doesn't seem to be the 'perfect' one. We have also been considering making a pro/con video in the future with a comparison to caravans
