To all of those saying that Diplex favoured the Americans in this battle opposed to the prior allied advancements, I believe you are confused in quite a few ways. First, as an individual who is University studying War studies and military philosophy so that I may become an officer one day, I can tell you that if you look at any successful battle throughout history that had previous failed attempts, the identified errors in the failed attempts are what made the last attempt a success (eg. Vimy Ridge). Diplex merely learned from the British and Russian waves, how to create a more successful attack with the Americans. Secondly, Diplex creates these videos to provide a cinematic experience. How boring would it be to consistently see failed attempts at this base? We have already seen two, it was time that someone broke through otherwise it would be mind nulling. I would argue that Diplex did a great job with this mini-series and I look forward to seeing the future base. Also just a bit of constructive criticism for @diplexheated , as a Canadian, I would love to see engagements with Canadian forces sometime throughout. Perhaps you have done them in the past, of which I am unaware, but I think it would be great seeing some famous canadian engagements such as Vimy Ridge or Juno Beach in Men of War style.

I think that the Shermans with rockets were OP as hell and when he started pulling defenders back from their MG positions that could easily hold that position for ages, that was when the Germans lost because he put them at the BIGGEST disadvantage I have EVER seen. I mean sure they would have lost anyway but it would have lasted longer if he hadn't pulled them back from their PERFECT position.

Good battle. A little disappointing you just controlled the allies and not the axis. Would've liked to see some of the super anti-tank gun action. I also think the only reason why wave 7 was successful was because of the rocket mounted Shermans, which pretty much destroyed all of the axis' AT capabilities.
The only reason this attack was successful was because the Americans used a lot of artillery. If he did not use artillery the attack would have been better and closer. He would have had to use the final wave.
You could make it more realistic by saying that they have a high value hostage inside the fortress or a nuke maybe.That way it justifies the fact the infantry is going in.You know to make more crazy and fun.Love the video Diplex. I have one question: When or is Season 2 of the Post-Apocalyptic series going to happen. Last time we heard about it it was in your update video you posted almost four months ago. I thought Season one was great the storytelling and plot was there but there was also a sense of randomness that we did not know what was going to happen and that was made even better when you let the A.I. do almost everything on their own, it was great! I would totally love to see, like, a Coastal Fort assault in this sort of way, like say, an American or German Coastal fort, and actually have to take an island with a fort like this on it. I don't know about anyone else, but that sounds extremely cool.
The calliopes single handedly changed the tide of battle. Everything else flowed from that. Now early on the airstrike wiped out the two new 20mm guns Diplex had added. As we all saw with the soviets those guns are amazing at killing infantry. Removing the rocket launchers from the Germans also made a huge difference. The half tracks also had a big impact as their .50 cals tore up the 20mm cannon at the front of the fortress. Still without the calliopes I don't think the US would have won this one. For your next fortress instead of high gun emplacements put the guns inside the bunkers. If you don't then you'll get the same results. The attackers will get mowed down until they bring rockets or dedicated artillery and just blast the exposed gun positions.

Why you give Americans rocket artillery when Soviets used rocket artillery (katyusha) waaaaaaaaayyyyy more than Americans? When I was watching the Russian assault on the fort, I was really expecting them to use some rocket artillery against the Germans. I was let down. :(
I understand, however, wouldn't it be expected that the Soviets use Katyusha's on an assault on a heavy fortified emplacement? I was really expecting that to happen. I'm not mad that he didn't use any due to them not being tanks with rocket pods, I was just a little confused at that moment. Many, maybe even you I assume, would have definitely have enjoyed seeing the German fortification being bombarded by rows of katyusha (or at least a few).

Yeah so unfair when for three episodes in the series the defenders in the fortress kicked the attackers ass... Much unfair, such unfair. And he helped the defenders to.
If you look at the P-51 at the end of the vid when Diplex is going over casualties you can see the pilot survived and was gunned down outside of the plane.
These are the battles I love and crave. Please keep doing more of these. I would switch out the 20 MM anti infantry machine guns for MG42's, Panzerfaustz, and similar Mounted machine guns that don't have HE. The HE just shreds the infantry before they get close. Besides, the minefield destroys the infantry so they don't have a chance. Bringing a tank just to clear out the mines is too risky. I would keep the mines, get rid of the 20 MM HE guns, replace it with mounted or machine gun or heavy ordinance troops that don't have powerful HE(like the 20 MM fire rate). With those replacements it would be easier to get into the fortress, but still would require tanks to destroy the heavy Pak's and other defenses. It would be balanced in my opinion. Plus, you wouldn't need to bring in any Calliope's. You would just need to shell the defenses with tanks or artillery guns, provided they can get a shot off accuractly. Hopefully with these improvements some tanks might get repaired and keep fighting, this may even help the British and Russians in last 2 videos. Please consider my comment Diplex.
i think you should do a fort that has mostly anti air guns but a few machine guns the objective for the allies would be to bomb and strafe the base till the last wave of the attack(infantry) would be able to push into the fort and take it
This is a bit of continuation of my previous post. I am being Biased (I was a 21B, Combat Engineer) lol, but it would really cool if you created some scenarios that have Sappers Breaching Barbed Wire, Hedgehogs, etc, as well as laying and clearing minefields. This is my opinion, but I am sure some of my brothers feel the same way and that is how we are like the "redheaded" stepchild of the Military lol. We are basically Infantry that are very good with explosives and basically do everything. We do Route Clearence which, for the misinformed, means that nobody goes anywhere until we say so! Just would be very cool to "open peoples eyes" as to how important Sappers are to ALL Combat Operations, Convoy Security, etc.
You should try expanding the fortifications. Maby by adding trenches either side or infrount of the fortress or by widening the map a bit. Then you could have larger waves and add a bit more of a variety aswell whilst also having a larger battle
I have another idea for using this fort. Use early war weapons. Use 37mm, 50mm and 75mm PaK's, MG34's, no StG44's or SMG's, just riflemen. Replace the twin 120's with a 105mm or something similar. Attacking forces are just as restricted, relying on light tanks and such.
Do a French attempt, where they attack from the sides with only ~5 waves, and they'd attack from the sides as a surprise attack, just for fun, even da muricans broke through

First high set pill box bunkers with medium or heavy artillery with anti infantry roosting on the top. and like your twin barreled naval gun set two up one mid way between the walls with your entrance set between them that give way to a dead end (from perspective of atterker entering) on their front and left and set your MG42's on sand bags at least 10 meters down the right hand corridor. tjwm for the sake of the attackers send infantry behind armor so they don't get tottaly fucked by machine gun fire send them at least 30 meters behind your armored/mechanized units
The infantry keeps stopping at the tank obstacles, and turning their backs to the fort. They need to push hard and fast. Bring up some GPMGs to lay down a base of fire.

On your new fortress, make it a split section design, with one side managed by the British and the other Americans. Be sure to send lots of germans both ways, and end it with a Maus!
i would love to see you make a "staged" fortress, with multiple walls, where you have to take one level, and then the next one, the top layer having multiple big guns (the 122mm AT gun, or a nebelwerfer or so)

If you look at the P-51 at the end of the vid when Diplex is going over casualties you can see the pilot survived and was gunned down outside of the plane.
These are the battles I love and crave. Please keep doing more of these. I would switch out the 20 MM anti infantry machine guns for MG42's, Panzerfaustz, and similar Mounted machine guns that don't have HE. The HE just shreds the infantry before they get close. Besides, the minefield destroys the infantry so they don't have a chance. Bringing a tank just to clear out the mines is too risky. I would keep the mines, get rid of the 20 MM HE guns, replace it with mounted or machine gun or heavy ordinance troops that don't have powerful HE(like the 20 MM fire rate). With those replacements it would be easier to get into the fortress, but still would require tanks to destroy the heavy Pak's and other defenses. It would be balanced in my opinion. Plus, you wouldn't need to bring in any Calliope's. You would just need to shell the defenses with tanks or artillery guns, provided they can get a shot off accuractly. Hopefully with these improvements some tanks might get repaired and keep fighting, this may even help the British and Russians in last 2 videos. Please consider my comment Diplex.

i think you should do a fort that has mostly anti air guns but a few machine guns the objective for the allies would be to bomb and strafe the base till the last wave of the attack(infantry) would be able to push into the fort and take it
This is a bit of continuation of my previous post. I am being Biased (I was a 21B, Combat Engineer) lol, but it would really cool if you created some scenarios that have Sappers Breaching Barbed Wire, Hedgehogs, etc, as well as laying and clearing minefields. This is my opinion, but I am sure some of my brothers feel the same way and that is how we are like the "redheaded" stepchild of the Military lol. We are basically Infantry that are very good with explosives and basically do everything. We do Route Clearence which, for the misinformed, means that nobody goes anywhere until we say so! Just would be very cool to "open peoples eyes" as to how important Sappers are to ALL Combat Operations, Convoy Security, etc.

You should try expanding the fortifications. Maby by adding trenches either side or infrount of the fortress or by widening the map a bit. Then you could have larger waves and add a bit more of a variety aswell whilst also having a larger battle
This would have been a much shorter battle with destructible terrain. The German base would probably have been mostly crippled by the fourth wave.
I have another idea for using this fort.
Use early war weapons. Use 37mm, 50mm and 75mm PaK's, MG34's, no StG44's or SMG's, just riflemen. Replace the twin 120's with a 105mm or something similar. Attacking forces are just as restricted, relying on light tanks and such.
Do a French attempt, where they attack from the sides with only ~5 waves, and they'd attack from the sides as a surprise attack, just for fun, even da muricans broke through

ideas for next one. First high set pill box bunkers with medium or heavy artillery with anti infantry roosting on the top. and like your twin barreled naval gun set two up one mid way between the walls with your entrance set between them that give way to a dead end (from perspective of atterker entering) on their front and left and set your MG42's on sand bags at least 10 meters down the right hand corridor. tjwm for the sake of the attackers send infantry behind armor so they don't get tottaly fucked by machine gun fire send them at least 30 meters behind your armored/mechanized units

The infantry keeps stopping at the tank obstacles, and turning their backs to the fort. They need to push hard and fast. Bring up some GPMGs to lay down a base of fire.
Canadians were also apart of the special forces brigade.

On your new fortress, make it a split section design, with one side managed by the British and the other Americans. Be sure to send lots of germans both ways, and end it with a Maus!
Great video! but the Calliopes were the ones who turned the tables, you should remove rocket units from both sides.
Diplex the slugger is a tank destroyer with the wolverine body and the Jackson top, it looks pretty similar to the Jackson. Anyways good video.
i would love to see you make a "staged" fortress, with multiple walls, where you have to take one level, and then the next one, the top layer having multiple big guns (the 122mm AT gun, or a nebelwerfer or so)
