    You had me in stitches when you mentioned Danny's jumper!! There I was happily knitting my wrap when all of a sudden I heard - come on Alex put the wrap down!! I looked around for cameras 🤣🤣xx

    I've scrambled to note down the patterns of so many of your beautiful socks. I'm a magic loop sock knitter, cuff down, heel flap and gusset with a rounded toe. Thank you so much for sharing all of your beautiful socks. What a fun podcast episode!

    I’m definitely a DPN/cuff down/heel flap and gusset girl. Right now I have two pairs on the needles - WYS Nutcracker socks! and a pair of socks that I’m knitting with my hand spun yarn for a sock spin along. They’re quite rustic. Your plethora of socks is something to be proud of! They’re all beautiful.

    Karen another beautiful podcast -thank you so much. I constantly talk myself out of trying to knit a pair of socks (easier than facing my fear😂) but after this podcast I have made a promise to myself that March is the month I throw caution to the wind. I am so excited that you are going to do March vlogs but no pressure 😂 Karen, you are pure sunshine xx Take care and remember you are wonderful 🌻

    So inspirational to see all your different socks. I too love making socks and made my first pair about 60 years ago on DPN’s . My preferred method at the moment is 9” circulars.

    Hi Karen, I use 9” circular. Cuff down, heel flap and gusset with a wedge toe. To do the toe I use 2 of the 9” circulars and finish with the Kitchener stitch. Hello from across the pond!

    Hello Karen. It was lovely to see you and all of your gorgeous socks. I have to get some Maude, I had an Auntie Maud, and she was a character! I love knitting socks, I am a fairly novice sock knitter. I finally mastered the art of knitting socks about 9 months ago. I prefer a 9 inch circular for the sock, changing to magic loop for the toes. I have recently discovered the love for knitting them concurrently, too. I was lucky enough to test knit Alex's new pattern. I finished the pair in just 5 days! They are a beautiful sock, I loved knitting them, and, as this pair have gone to my daughter today, I will be casting on a second pair for myself very soon. See you next time xx

    You've knit such gorgeous socks, Karen! I'm a 9in Chiagoo sock (mini lace set) needle fan, and I knit all of the sock with them- from cuff to toe. ❤

    Karen, all your socks are gorgeous. I've ordered the patterns for By the Fire and Key to my Heart socks. I started knitting socks on dpn needles but now use and love 9" circs (ChiaoGoo red).

    Thank you so much for sharing your amazing socks! What a beautiful collection you have created. The answer to your question is magic loop 2 at a time cuff down. When your done you're really done! Thank you so much for sharing your precious time with us.

    Your socks are so gorgeous. I don't make socks often, but when I do, I use magic loop. Mostly just a vanilla sock, cuff down, on a 2.5 mm needle, size medium. I usually crochet, so knitting socks isn't something that happens a lot. Thanks for a lovely podcast.

    Loved seeing all your beautiful socks. I didn’t count up all the pairs I did last year but maybe I should. Enjoyed seeing the fun with your mum too! I’m a magic loop, top down, heel flap & gusset type of gal (usually anyway and never dpns 😬) 😘

    Love all your socks. I always knit mine top down, heel flap and gusset and use DPNs. Would love to try other ways but never seem to get round to it as I’m too eager to start a new pair and think maybe next time😁 I currently have 7 pairs on the needles and I’m resisting (so far!) casting on any more until I’ve finished at least 3 pairs. Looking forward to your March vlogs x

    Hi Karen wow I love all the socks you’ve made and the colours are fab also I like your little teddy that was sat by a pair. I keep saying I want to make socks but I’ve never made any and not quite sure what pattern would be the easiest one to do. Any advice would be greatly received xx

    I knit socks on DPNS, magic loop or 12” circular needles. I am a cuff down girl and always do true after thought heels because I want to use up every scrap of yarn. I make two pairs of socks out of every skein. I prefer shorty or shorter socks. It’s nice to always have a pair on the needles.

    This was a perfect video for me today as I am an avid sock knitter! Socks are definitely my go-to knit! I prefer dpn’s and 9 inch circulars for any bits of colour work! I make scrappy socks too. At Christmas I sent off a large box full for charity and included my Ukraine MAL socks which came out too large for me. When I heard back I was informed that a lot of my donations had been sent to Ukraine so I was hoping they went “home” Will love March vlogs if you can manage it! Take care xx

    Hi Karen, so many beautiful socks you have made in a year. I’m hoping to make 12 pairs this year and entering them into Amanda’s imsocksyandiknowit knit along. I knit with the 9” circular, I can’t get on with dpns and I pull my stitches off the needle when trying magic loop😂

    I love all your socks!! My goodness, that's a lovely bunch! So cute to have matching socks with your mum! I am a magic loop girl! I've never tried the flexi flips (is that what they're called?). Anyways, I'm sure there are videos with tutorials on how to work them. Take care and stay well now!! 🥰

    I don’t mind shorties, I have some socks on magic loop, which I enjoy, but I can really power round with dpns. Today I just bought some HiyaHiya Flyers at Unravel yarn show and tried them in the car on the way home. Can’t say I enjoyed them as my left hand last fingers had nothing to hold and I was getting cramp in them. I will try them again though.

    So many pretty socks! You have such a talent for knitting.🤗
    I am off on a thought tangent regarding your word "focus". Too often I have a million things I want to do but never do them, like knitting socks. I might have to implement some way to focus. Maybe a " bucket list" for the year, to help me focus on things I really want to do and a specific time, like an appointment, that I set aside for it. Do you ever feel like you need to set aside time in order to make yourself focus on a new project?
    Thanks for sharing.

    Magic loop is my needle choice but once I am on the round and round of the leg and foot I enjoy 9” circulars using continental method of knitting. The sections go fast 💨 lol. I have never tried double points (ashamed to admit). I don’t see many using the flexies. They don’t seem popular.

    Hello Karen, it's lovely to see you are still well. Your socks are amazing but I wouldn't have said Fred and Ginger for you and your mam, more Monty Python 😂. I've only ever made one pair of socks over 60 years ago and they were done on 4 needles. I felt I no sooner cast on than I was casting off as I take a 2 1/2 shoe, plus trousers weren't worn much then so it was a dress or skirt with stockings and suspenders!! A sixpenny piece was a necessity in case a suspender 'pinged' off 😱🤣. I'm looking forward to a March vlog if you decide to do one x

    That’s a fabulous amount of socks Karen! 😯 As I’ve literally just started making, a vlog/podcast (I’ve made 2 at this point in time) can you tell me what the difference is between a vlog and a podcast? To me a podcast is just something you listen to and not watch. The ones on UA-cam are all vlogs to me, no idea 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @sueking3915
      @sueking3915 7 місяців тому +1

      Hi. I'm not a creator but I believe a vlog is showing day to day life as well as projects. A podcast is showing just projects in progress and finished items.....

    • @sueking3915
      @sueking3915 7 місяців тому +1

      But yes, I agree a podcast is audio but a lot of creators in this community refer to them as podcasts.
