This is crazy! Good for you! My brother-in-law was there. Said it was one of the hardest things he’s done. Also, you’re very polite. I like that. Lots of “thank yous” and “sorrys”. Thanks for the inspiration. 💪
Thanks for the kind words! I try to show appreciation for all the amazing volunteers out there. We couldn’t have these great events without them and hope everyone treats them kindly.
Good job dude. I really wanted to do this Spartan challlenge but I couldn’t make it out there. Thanks for uploading the video allowing people like myself to experience the event vicariously through you. And I appreciate how well manored you are. Stay fit dude.
Thanks for the video. Registration was well done. I went to a lot of trouble to buy a clear bag meeting their bag check criteria, but I noticed when I checked my bag that most of the bags did not meet the criteria, a similar theme seems to define the company, strict rules that are not enforced. They are literally called hand release pushups, that rule is very clear, probably a 15 second differential between not doing the hand release and doing it., not doing the hand release is just a low key cheat imo. Similarly it is common in videos I have seen that people don't extend at the top of the box jumps. As I understand it they do video reviews on the top finishers in age group and elite to see if they did the exercises properly and all the reps, but not on those that finished outside of podium positions. If you are doing open category, then lack rule enforcement is understandable, but we paid an extra $25 or so for age group, and there should be some effort to identify low grade age group cheats, even if it is only 10th place in the the age group. I ran at 8:00
@@JasonWilliamsOCR I also started at in 8:15 wave, but I think I was 1 or two groups behind you! Was very pleased we had the sun on the west stands and the east was still shaded when getting to that point! Thanks for posting this video, this was my first Stadion :)
@@mjsfpc oh wow, what did you think of all those stairs? I was happy after getting done that we didn’t start any later. I can’t imagine doing that course later when it got so much hotter!
@@JasonWilliamsOCR So that may have been the one slight advantage I had.. lol I am from Colorado Springs, CO so train at higher altitude, and didn't have much breathing issues; my legs definitely got a good burn, however I also was able to train using the Manitou Incline (google it :), so that helped with prep! The humidity and heat would have put a real hurtin on me starting later lol
Awesome man, im going for my first time here in Tampa, your video definitely made me feel better about doing this, though still a little scared. Hope to see you there!!!

Appreciate the kind words!
I was the volunteer with the grey hat at the spear throw. I ran the race at 2 and it was a blast. Everyone crushed it!
That’s great! Thanks for volunteering! Kudos to you for running at 2. It must have been so hot!
@tmhdscooby9901 YOU MADE ME DO 15 BURPEES!!!
So many stairs 🥵. We did it 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾. You guys pass me on the second set of stairs 😅😅

Thanks, it’s good to know I’m not alone on some of thoughts. Appreciate the info!
you run so many stairs, but it is so worth it.
👍🏿💪🏿that heat almost killed me 🥵
What time did you run? I was at 8:15, and if it was any later I would have probably died!
@@JasonWilliamsOCR 10am. Sun was the worst obstacle. 🥵
@@JasonWilliamsOCR signed up for next year. Definitely running early.
This was my first OCR at a stadium, all those stairs were brutal! The 9:30 start time didn't help either.
9:30 start must have been rough! I started at 8:15 and it was hot for me.

Rolling on the cement? How's your elbows, knees and hips? Ouch, man
Not bad! Luckily I wasn’t rolling fast 😂
What was your time
My final time was 46:41. I spent waaaayyy too much time at the burpees and jerry can carry lol
