the favorite song of the dogen during doing nothnig and just sitting
Sure is~!
Hi, Brad. Can you play the bass line from "YYZ" by Rush? Just curious :)
I have never attempted it. But I did learn "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick" by Ian Dury & the Blockheads, which is probably just as difficult. It's somewhere on this UA-cam channel.
New bass? Haven't seen the Guild before. Sounds good!
Thanks! I got it in March. I've been playing it on all my recordings since then but this is the first video it's been in. It's a Chris Hillman (Byrds) signature model!
Great cover
Most excellent - I dig! Though I would have enjoyed this marvel even more if you had used the much maligned 1975 NASA logo
I didn't know they changed the logo!
@@HardcoreZen Nasa tried, but failed due to pushback from popular opinion, to modernise their logo in 1975. They wanted something more in line with the idea of a forward looking, 1970's space faring, computer driven organisation - but people preferred the familiar blue circle with childlike cosmic splodges. But now the 1970s attempt is considered old and familiar, so actually pretty cool.
Listening to this remarkable Stones cover, another song of that legendary band comes into my mind -- just with slightly modified lyrics:
"... You're out of tune, my baby
My poor discarded baby
I said, baby, baby, baby, you're out of tune
Well, baby, baby, baby, you're out of tune
I said, baby, baby, baby, you're out of tune..."
Maybe true artists are allowed to transcend the frame - to appreciate the wonder think of it as art rather than music 🦄
@@macdougdoug Well said. I fully agree with you 😄
@@markusschipke5975 As an amateur musician myself, struggling with my own difficulties keeping in tune - I did have problems fully appreciating Brad's harmonies myself for a long time - but maybe due to a breakthrough after years of zazen, I am finally free(ish) of what "should be" ?
@@macdougdoug HA! Hey! I've gotten a lot better at doing harmonies than I used to be. Also, it never bothered me when harmonies were a little off. Like Linda McCartney in Wings. I sort of like that.
