Given enough force, a spring will keep compressing, at some point the compression will cause the spring to stop being a spring as the spring material fuses with itself and loses its ability to spring back up. The kinetic energy will be released as heat as it is compressed
0:27 I put my a slinky in my 2 year old and 4 year old's Christmas stockings. Took my 2 year old a solid 1 minute to get them both tangled to the point of no return.
One thing to add around 5:00 is Tekking is describing a compression spring, whereby you apply compression to the spring and it then tries to undo that effort. A slinkie is more along the lines of a weak tension spring, whereby the effort is to pull it apart and it tries to return to being compressed.
Fun thing to think about was Bellamy was subjective of sky island and couldnt believe it was a thing because an island in 5he clouds dont make sense but his boss doffy uses those very clouds to get from island to island if he needs to
I would imagine Bellamy’s Awakening would be like the initial theories for Luffy’s DF before we learned what it actually was. I’m thinking Bellamy can turn anything he touches *_into_* a spring, so then he has the opportunity to use sneak attacks on his opponent. Like Bellamy throws a chunk of rubble at an opponent, it misses and while the opponent is gloating going “You missed!”, Bellamy actually touched the building behind the opponent earlier in the fight so it springs the rubble back at the opponent while they’re unawares
You should add in a "cool potential if another character had the fruit" segment. Like here, any CP/High ranking marine who can use Finger Pistol having the fruit. You'd be able to do longer range stabs by sproinging your finger forward
Loving this series. I want to propose maybe knocking a few of these out during a livestream. Might be weird clipped into the playlist but would be fun to discuss the lesser known fruits live. Thanks for reading!
So a couple things If he has a thrusting weapon like a spear or straight sword, he can compressed that and given any thrusting attack more power and range. He can turn parts of buildings into springs and have them launch at opponents. If he doesn't have to worry about any reaction force that will send him flying, he could compress he body, make contact with an object or opponent and release that stored energy into the target like a one inch punch. If he can block an attack with haki, he can compress that section of the body and send the force back at his opponent.
Hey, Tekking. Physics nerd and anime lover here. A slinky still exhibits the property of storing potential energy and releasing it as kinetic energy. It's just extensional rather than compression. You can also twist them (torsional) to achieve something similar. As for Haki, I'd imagine the spring constant K, how much force is required to displace the spring 1 unit of distance, would greatly increase if the spring were entirely coated in Haki. That would make the total potential energy storage capacity increase linearly with K!
Bellamy is honestly such a cool character. Oda could've easily just had him stay dead as some random pirate that died along with Sarquiss in Jaya. But he brought him back and made him a really compelling side character. His loyalty to Doflamingo while also making him respect Luffy, him realizing he's wrong but staying on Doffy's side because of his principles etc. One of my favorite parts of Dressrosa.
The Spring Spring Fruit is very cool, and it makes sense for Bellamy to get so swole, in contrast to Luffy. Luffy can stretch all his muscles, so working out and gaining mass is a huge effort with his abilities working even passively, because he can't damage his muscles to start the process, so his body stays slim, that also allows Luffy to naturally have more strength, as he can push each individual muscle fiber to a limit way beyond a regular human. Luffy had to get shackled with Seastone to then train and gain muscle tone. Bellamy though has an active ability, he turns into spring, he's not a spring naturally (otherwise the iconic punches wouldn't have made him unconscious). So he can train without turning into spring, and for him thats ideal as thicker body = thicker springs, and that's way more powerful, amd harder to compress as well.
I believe not all paramecia will have the same type of awakening. Like, all of them will change the environment as shown from all the awakened paramecia users and the road to Laughtale Guidebook, but both Kid and Law show that it doesn’t necessarily JUST turn other things into their respective specialties but does it in a way to enhance their respective abilities; so, maybe instead of literally turning the area around him into literal springs, he could give them spring-like properties. With this they could do things such as the ground making it harder for those around him to move and make him bounce better; he could also change the properties of weapons/tools to extend their range after compressing it, or by a similar route Kid took, he could give other people the properties of springs at inopportune moments to disadvantage them.
Hey, tekking you never talked about Muramasa or the abilities in death. I mean, turned on everyone else’s swords, their powers, their abilities, their names and even the user but you never talk to them. The one that started one of the most popular arcs like even, you think you can do that in the future
I also like to add that since Bellamy can make his limbs as springs what if his limbs are now are as hard as metal (like the Dice-Dice Fruit) that can be deadly, & here is a thought what if he learned how to bounce off the air like he had Geppo Moonwalk which would allow him to not need to bounce on the ground or any structure
Hey tekking, I know you're working through the devil fruit encyclopedia right now, but have you ever made a list of your personal favorite moments from One Piece? Most of your content is analytical, but I would love to see your take on the most personally impacful/your favorite moments from the series. I'm certain many of us love to see a video or series in this format. If you've already done this, I must have missed it. Either way, thanks as always for the content! EELLBAAAAAFFFFF!!
This is another one of those fruits which would probably be really strong with a better user. I’m imagining you could probably trap somebody in a spring and then use your other limbs to speed-bag them.
If Bellamy was more creative with his fruit he could turn his whole arm into a spring as use it to grapple/grab/disarm people. He could also parry/counter alot of blunt attacks by turning his arm into a spring before he gets hit to bounce the force off to an enemy.
I did quite like his character arc. He have this whole, never meet your hero vibe when it came to Doflamingo. It's like this young person's high admiration for somebody. And even after witnessing their worst qualities. You still refuse to overlook them at first. However, I think you have one crucial moment that being after Doflamingos defeat. That he finally realized that this person really isn't everything, then he decided to become a drier after officially retiring from the life of piracy. I think he realized he probably never had what it took. In order to be a major pirate, there are just certain aspects that you need in order to be recognized as such. And unfortunately he did not have those qualities.
One of my favorite moments in dressarosa was when Bellamy sees luffy for the first time since Jaya and says I'm not going to laugh at you anymore strawhat.
With a fruit like this, it's no wonder Bellamy bounced back from such a bad impression, to becoming a fan favorite. You could say he was pretty quick on the rebound.
I imagine an awakening would be fairly devastating. Imagine being in a fight bracing on the ground, when suddenly the ground directly below you turns into a trampoline to make you balance. That could end lives. Or maybe the mail box springs out at you. Cabinets full of fine plates spring forward to throw a bunch of glass. Other than that I guess maybe turning your opponent into a spring could mess them up. Tangle their arms together. Nothing sucks more than a tangled up slinky.
Yeah, he could cause some real chaos if he got creative with it, i'm imagining him surrounded by a squad of marines, stomps the grount and springs em all into the air
He could also do a move similar to Luffy's bazooka. Hold on to something with both hands and sprint to the opponent, release and slam hands into the opponent. Also sky walk similar to gear 4th Luffy, bouncing off of the air.
Since i watched both Videos back to back, a fight between Hina and Bellamie would round out his arc. Fighting a cage after he lived in one his hole live. Both can create metal but one for a more fun reason (Sun God) and one only for control(Imu).
I could Imagen him be able to make spring traps that are already fully compressed that he can release at will as a part of his awakaning. Other than that I think his fruit would be a lot like Luffy's but without the power of a sun god.
the whole friction thing made me consider... is Luffy actively hurting himself every time he uses red hawk? he doesn't have fire control or immunity to it like fire users like Ace or Akainu, so he's effectively setting himself on fire... constantly, he's a big boy so there's no doubt that he can take it, but the fact that one of his strongest techniques for the longest time boiled down it AND NOW I'M GOING TO SET MYSELF ON FIRE!!! is so funny
I really think during the final war, all of the Straw Hat allies are going to show up out of nowhere, like the Whitebeard pirates during Marineford, all with Straw Hat pirate flags made by Bellamy.
If we ever get a awakening for Inazuma's Shear-Shear/Snip-Snip Fruit. Bellamy's awakening would probably be on the same level of absurdity and ridiculous. Where things in his area would just coil into spring-like structures with no rhyme or reason. Where Inazuma would shear/snip things in their area and rearrange them into new structures, with no rhyme or reason.
I've beaten Bellamy so many times recently in One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 in the Treasure Logs that I almost feel bad. He just keep appearing as a potential enemy commander...him and Perospero, but I feel less bad about that one.
What if you had the puff puff fruit ( Hoya Hoya ) and then summoned the genie and fed it itself a Devil fruit ? VIDEO IDEA been pondering this for a couple days
End war dream fight. Bellamy vs arlong. The rematch, fighting for luffy as luffy. Man vs fish, sh fleet vs bbeard, following the right man vs the wrong. Completion of the race war, Jimbei watches. Bellamy screams of dreams, and triggers arlong flashbacks of the park and fisher tiger. When wins, arlong jimbei tag team up, maybe sacrifices his life to save koala, dying breathe hack names him the second son of the sea. Peak loading
Would Bellamy's Spring Hopper imply a rudimentary use of Observation Haki? Moving that fast while keeping track of his surroundings, the correct angles to bounce so as to not overly damage your platforms, and a target?
My man, if you want to heat up using springs the force of contracting the springs will heat them, this happens with shocks to a small degree. Also hitting the air with speed causes enough friction to ignite punches in anime. Anime BS physics are fun.
Don’t have time to watch the video yet, but is there any discussion of Bellamy potentially using an impact dial from Skypeia? I always liked that Dressrosa-era theory
Technically a slinky is a tnsion spring, so drunk Bellamy slinkying down a flight of stairs by accident and getting all tangled up is something that could happen.
You can compress a spring to a flat sheet, but then it is just a metal sheet and not a spring anymore. If you exceed the compressive strength of the metal than you are simply reshaping it. With anime logic you can increase the compressive strength with haki, but it will still need to remain a spring.
2:08 Some random dude at Sabaody had tone-dial earphones and I think somewhere it said Brook had the best selling TD in the world, so you'd figure _most_ people on the Grand Line would know about sky islands, right?
The greatest invention to come out of Pennsylvania was Tekking101.
And pens
For real
so true.
1:00 💯
Pin this comment @tekking
Bellamy's arc is basically realizing he's in an abusive situation and finally finding peace and purpose through art.
Tekking chill tf down! Being so consistent makes me afraid that you're actually going to cover all devil fruits
16:34 Tekking casually using observation haki
😂fr. so easily
Future sight for a brief moment. Him yelling No as he couldn't left that future happen.
You know I do fully believe tekking would be more proficient with observation haki over arms haki.
advanced observation*
Given enough force, a spring will keep compressing, at some point the compression will cause the spring to stop being a spring as the spring material fuses with itself and loses its ability to spring back up. The kinetic energy will be released as heat as it is compressed
Bellamy's awakening would be the 4th (canon) heat based fruit im the story
We are pushing through this series huh
Only 4685 fruits to go !
Im not complaining
About 50 or so. We got a lot left
@ still extremely excited to watch always love your breakdowns keep it up man
0:27 I put my a slinky in my 2 year old and 4 year old's Christmas stockings. Took my 2 year old a solid 1 minute to get them both tangled to the point of no return.
Tekking can talk about anything i want a tekking101 podcast about just his day
I can see a previous user of the Spring fruit using it to attempt to climb the Red Line reaching Castle Pangea
Bellamy's Fruit is basically where Luffy get the idea of his Gear 4th Technique Kong Gun
I thought I was crazy thinking Luffy got inspiration for moves from Bellamy
I don't remember if this was anime only, but I remember Luffy using gum gum spring bullet on doffy
Also imagine if bellamy learned geppo. He could spring off the air instead of relying on his surroundings
One thing to add around 5:00 is Tekking is describing a compression spring, whereby you apply compression to the spring and it then tries to undo that effort. A slinkie is more along the lines of a weak tension spring, whereby the effort is to pull it apart and it tries to return to being compressed.
Tekking is really putting his foot on the gas pedal with this one
I feel like Bellamy got told that Santa wasn’t real at too young of an age… and that’s why he is Like That.
Fun thing to think about was Bellamy was subjective of sky island and couldnt believe it was a thing because an island in 5he clouds dont make sense but his boss doffy uses those very clouds to get from island to island if he needs to

Tekking i just love listening to your videos on long drives, thanks for being so great
Loving this series. I want to propose maybe knocking a few of these out during a livestream. Might be weird clipped into the playlist but would be fun to discuss the lesser known fruits live. Thanks for reading!
This is the type of content I like to see.
Nostalgia factor, loved him in the Jaya and dressrosa arcs.
So a couple things

Fun Fact this fruit should make you immune to fall damage which is perfect for anyone who is falling from heights.
Tekking my sister loves musicals and im getting into em more and the fact you threw in a Six reference has thrown me for a loop 😂
The Slingy is dope
for someone with a rather "goofy" DF Bellamy actually turned out to have quite a decent moveset
I was at work and thought "I really need a Tekking video right now" and here we are
Remember when we all thought that Bellamy wasn't being creative with his fruit when Luffy was still a paramecia 😂
Ooh yeah... *now* we cooking, streets been saying Kaido didn't want smoke with Dressrosa because he'd have to go through Bellamy first👀
Sooooo true! Bellamy would forsure awaken his fruit and turn kaido into a dragon slinky! 🤣🤣🤣 gg ez
A cool awakening iv always thought of is that he can use Spring Hopper in the air so he wouldnt need a surface to spring off of
Hey, Tekking. Physics nerd and anime lover here. A slinky still exhibits the property of storing potential energy and releasing it as kinetic energy. It's just extensional rather than compression. Luffy taking inspiration from Bellamy for G2 actually makes a lot of sense, given how he's so able to learn from his environment
Also, I'll add that "remember your high school physics / chemistry and add some anime bullshit to it" is a great way to break dnd
The awakening would probably be more esoteric like kid and and Law. I think it would allow him to compress and store other types of energy like heat
Hell yes Tekking, please come to NZ, it's awesome here!
Merry Christmas Tekking
damn tekking is really the op youtuber who works the hardest
I believe not all paramecia will have the same type of awakening. Spring Spring hopper is still one of my favorite looking attacks in the series

This is another one of those fruits which would probably be really strong with a better user.
I’m imagining you could probably trap somebody in a spring and then use your other limbs to speed-bag them.
That dragon ball catch was hard🔥
I thought Bellamy's DF had a ton of potential! I hope he gets more screentime, with the little we have left.
You should come to NZ some time Tekking. It's lovely here
If Bellamy was more creative with his fruit he could turn his whole arm into a spring as use it to grapple/grab/disarm people.

Tekking's going to try and get through all of the Devil Fruits, and Oda's going to keep making more.
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
Imagine his awakening compressing air and getting hit out of nowhere
One of my favorite moments in dressarosa was when Bellamy sees luffy for the first time since Jaya and says I'm not going to laugh at you anymore strawhat.
With a fruit like this, it's no wonder Bellamy bounced back from such a bad impression, to becoming a fan favorite. You could say he was pretty quick on the rebound.
Tekking hammering through this list meanwhile Oda “time to throw out 100 more devil fruits!”
Maan 2025 Tekking on a run, lets goo
Can you do a video on the gusha gusha no mi from the movie stampede
(aka clank clank fruit)
I imagine an awakening would be fairly devastating. Imagine being in a fight bracing on the ground, when suddenly the ground directly below you turns into a trampoline to make you balance. Hi Tekking! I forgot who Bellamy is but glad to relearn 😅😅😅
Thanks for the new video Tekking and *please* go hug your furbabies all 🎊💙🐱💙🎊
This is the episode good to start again watching One Piece where they are going to Sky 🏝️.
Give him sky walk and he’s gonna be unstoppable
He could also do a move similar to Luffy's bazooka. Hold on to something with both hands and sprint to the opponent, release and slam hands into the opponent. Also sky walk similar to gear 4th Luffy, bouncing off of the air.
Love the House of Holbein reference hahaha
TEKKING UPLOADS 6 DAYS IN A ROW😢😢 What is happening to the fabric of the cosmos
Since i watched both Videos back to back, a fight between Hina and Bellamie would round out his arc. Fighting a cage after he lived in one his hole live. Both can create metal but one for a more fun reason (Sun God) and one only for control(Imu).
I like the idea that he started using glasses because Luffy deformed his skull, and by extension his eyeballs.
Hey that's Sanji's thing
I think mock town was use as a testing ground for s.a.d. And the smile fruits
I could Imagen him be able to make spring traps that are already fully compressed that he can release at will as a part of his awakaning. Other than that I think his fruit would be a lot like Luffy's but without the power of a sun god.

This reminds me of an interesting OP FF with a Bellamy isekai. Spring time I think it was called.
I really think during the final war, all of the Straw Hat allies are going to show up out of nowhere, like the Whitebeard pirates during Marineford, all with Straw Hat pirate flags made by Bellamy.

Could he crush skulls by putting heads in between his springs than close them. Also oda came up with the spring fighting game before the switch.
What if you had the puff puff fruit ( Hoya Hoya ) and then summoned the genie and fed it itself a Devil fruit ? VIDEO IDEA been pondering this for a couple days
I swear this happened already, the dejavu is hittin hard
He could also use the springs to absorb punches and even fire then back
imagine bellamy doing a maxium compress attack and he basically becomes one punch man that would be badass
A giant spring with sunglasses would be pretty impressive even without physical damage
I feel like Yui can be katakuris dad.
Both red hair both and slim as heck and tall. Also they both cover their mouth.
End war dream fight. Bellamy vs arlong. The rematch, fighting for luffy as luffy. Man vs fish, sh fleet vs bbeard, following the right man vs the wrong. Completion of the race war, Jimbei watches. Anime BS physics are fun.
Oh nooo, not the All-Mighty Slinky Slinky Fruit.
If Bellamy reach its full potentional, we are all Doomed.
5:48 TF2 scout
😆
Don’t have time to watch the video yet, but is there any discussion of Bellamy potentially using an impact dial from Skypeia? I always liked that Dressrosa-era theory
"Bullshit anime physics", works everytime.
Great reference
Technically a slinky is a tnsion spring, so drunk Bellamy slinkying down a flight of stairs by accident and getting all tangled up is something that could happen.
my FAVOURITE DEVIL FRUIT LETS GO
You can compress a spring to a flat sheet, but then it is just a metal sheet and not a spring anymore. If you exceed the compressive strength of the metal than you are simply reshaping it.
With anime logic you can increase the compressive strength with haki, but it will still need to remain a spring.
Belamy creates super hot spring? So like a summer 😂
Checking there's a reason I subscribed to you for so long LMFAO 😂
I wouldn’t mind having Bellamy’s powers, don’t need a ladder, I could go super fast, I’d kill it in boxing
Video 15 of swiping my finger randomly on the keyboard in order to create an auto correct word for the video algorithm : narrows
So we getting daily videos now? Cool
2:08 Some random dude at Sabaody had tone-dial earphones and I think somewhere it said Brook had the best selling TD in the world, so you'd figure _most_ people on the Grand Line would know about sky islands, right?
Called the Po-who-ta-kawa tree bro 😊
Interesting how Bellamy grew up in the Notice Kingdom while ultimately becoming obsessed with being noticed by Doffy. Oh Oda, you sly dog.
