- Hamas is facing international pressure to accept a U.S.-backed cease-fire deal with Israel, but the group is proposing changes to the potential arrangement that the Israelis call unacceptable. Meanwhile, on Israel's northern border with Lebanon, fighting is intensifying with Hezbollah. BBC News Middle East correspondent Hugo Bachega joined CBS News to discuss the war.

How can they do that? Israel would never stop bombing them nor just killing civilians calling them Hamas. The war is against the civilian population, Hamas is the elected ruling party of Gaza. Why does the elected government have to be abolished. How will aid be brought in, who will administer this. Al Quuds is the armed wing of Hamas. Hamas is an elected govt.There is no peace possible at this point I believe.
Surrendering is not in their dictionary, it is a win or martyrdom.

We've been knowing what Hamas wants, a lasting ceasefire, this is nothing new. Netanyahu wants to stay out of jail.
Hamas wasn't going to accept that deal.. a deal which allows idf to stay in gaza means hamas won't be ruling gaza anymore which they don't want that.. so they rather prefer everyone die than to let go of gaza.. simple

There are thousands and thousands being held in Israeli detention with no charges filed. They are allowed to detain Palestinians for 90 days without pressing charges. Not to mention, they have abused these prisoners causing some needs amputations and surgeries. There are Palestinians who were later released without any charges who had to get limbs amputated in Israeli custody. That is a war crime.
