Yes, In a way, suffering becomes a gift, as it gives us the chance to rediscover ourselves. When we live in comfort we lose sight of what truly matters.
For the person asking the question, and for all of the do-it-yourself sufferers out there: give yourself a project. Build a house (Home) for your soul if you don't have one already. Metaphorically speaking, of course. It could look like anything, or be anywhere! ...give Yourself a place to dwell in silence. This theme has surfaced via a few different sources recently, and I found some poetic words... i can summarize. the foundation is informed by Your will. (I would add God's will / Higher Power determines the extent of the foundation) the walls are informed by Your awareness. the roof is informed by your Faith. ...and i could go on and on... Gallery question: So, what does your house look like???
...okay, I will start.... my Home would look something like this... it would look like a giant chunk of earth- ripped from some planet. something like what you would see on the cover of a Yes album. Yes, a sacred memory dematerializing before my eyes. with dirt, and rocks, roots, and vines hanging down- floating across the sky. Tropical. And on top of this chunk of earth, I choose a foundation of bronze. A footprint only large enough to breathe...and rest for awhile. Clinging to uneven surfaces. A place for lightning to strike. I choose bronze because of ductility and malleability With enough heat and pressure, it will melt away. It is impermanent...and can become refined into something else.. tempered; and with patina, or dissolved away completely... For the walls, I choose no walls to start I will start with 4 pillars- holding up a roof to shelter from solar winds, and the unforgiving and inhospitable elements of the Universe. Perhaps a series of movable screens and book cases to provide shelter from approaching storms- as needed ... and to bring the outside- in... Perhaps a place to go underground for awhile... I guess i see the roof as something resembling an observatory, but made of thatch instead of steel. ...a place to open up to the sky...and look at distant galaxies as I wave and pass by with awe. .
Hello sweet soul , Sounds like you’re not well , if you don’t want to talk about your illness and it’s private that’s fine , sorry for asking , I have always thought differently, not my words but everyone I’ve ever met , with this in mind I will give you advice regarding your illness that you will never hear elsewhere , your probably waiting for the song = Always look on the bright side of life = Monty Python.
Thank you for this reference. I haven't seen "The Life of Brian" in over 30 years and had no memory of the song. Great song to cheer you up (if you're in a consolable place.) I wish I could follow this advice perfectly and never stray into the doldrums.

Theres 30 comments about beautiful, but is it advice that is actually effective? Go beyond something, i dont know what that mean, be awarenes, your not affected bla bla bla, but maybe half a word of how to do it? Detach yourself, surrender something, hell no, dont do any of this, this suffering will not go anywhere, it is here to be felt, you cannot surrender it, you will be just supressing it instead, it is happening, reality is doing what it wants to do, and you cant do anything about it, you have the story in your mind that you can, but reality dont care what you think and this is harsh truth. Feel everything without supression as much as you are capable and try to change what can be changed in your life for the better, thats all you can do, maybe try some ahswaghanda for anxiety or some stuff like that. Dont surrender the "I" that doesnt make any sense, theres no "I" to be surrendered in the first place, and now you will have two, the one that needs to be surrendered and someone whos gotta surrender it, you go even deeper into delusion as a result. True surrender can happen when you are so depressed that you decided to commit suicide, and the story in the mind will change before you do it, from the story of the sufferer existing to the story that his already dead and awakening will happen along with that change, but that will be result, you cannot do it willingly.
