A zappy and successful version of this old hit, especially by Halie Loren and Matt Treder, a marvellous five piece band!
Halie Loren è ancora più convincente ascoltata dal vivo che in disco.
Halie Loren is an incredible talent. I love her voice and style!!
Even her every motion is amazingly beautiful..
This is great, she's definitely the best jazz singer to ever come out of this area.
Fly me to the moon
And let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, darling, kiss me
Fill my heart with song
And let me sing forevermore
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you
Fly me to the moon
And let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars
In other words, baby, hold my hand
In other words, well darling, just kiss me
Fill my heart with song
And let me sing forevermore
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words
I said, in other words
I said, in other words
I love you
I love you

"In Time," one of four original songs on Heart First, was initially released as a digital single to benefit the Japanese Red Cross in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami of 2011that devastated Japan. It was later remixed for the album, and features Loren accompanying herself on piano.
The song became known popularly as "Fly Me to the Moon" from the first line of the B verse, and after a few years the publishers changed the title to that officially.
It became "the first music ever heard on the moon" when played on a portable cassette player by Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin after he stepped onto the moon.
"Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On a-Jupiter and Mars

In other words, baby, kiss me
Fill my heart with song
And let me sing for ever more

[instrumental-first verse]
Fill my heart with song

Francis Albert "Frank" Sinatra (pronounced /sɨˈnɑːtrə/; December 12, 1915 Hoboken, New Jersey, U.S. - May 14, 1998 Los Angeles, California U.S.) - American singer and actor.
"Sinatra was... the first modern pop superstar... Following his idol Bing Crosby, who had pioneered the use of the microphone, Sinatra transformed popular singing by infusing lyrics with a personal, intimate point of view that conveyed a steady current of eroticism... Almost singlehandedly, he helped lead a revival of vocalized swing music that took American pop to a new level of musical sophistication... his 1950s recordings... were instrumental in establishing a canon of American pop song literature." - Stephen Cynthia Holden
The U.S. Congress passed a resolution on May 20, 2008, designating May 13 as Frank Sinatra Day to honor his contribution to American culture. The resolution was introduced by Representative Mary Bono Mack.
Loren's fifth jazz CD, Heart First, was released in Japan December 14, 2011, and in North America on March 6, 2012. As of Dec. 1, 2011, it was the No. 1 pre-ordered vocal jazz album from HMV Japan, and it went on to appear on the Billboard Japan Top Jazz Albums chart for 17 weeks.
JazzTimes reviewer Christopher Loudon, noting her "chameleonic vocal skills," found that the album had "generated plenty of buzz about her emergence as the next big thing among jazz vocalists."
"Loren’s ability to find something new in the old makes this a fun ride. She finds the middle ground between Bob Marley’s impassioned delivery and Annie Lennox’s pop sheen on “Waiting In Vain,” strips “Sway (Quién Será)” to its seductive core, and removes any hint of Eartha Kitt from “C’est Si Bon,” wrote Dan Bilawsky on All About Jazz. "… It all comes together to perfection. Depending on the song, Loren can be sweet, sly, or sultry, but she always finds the right read." "Alternately sexy and smooth, sultry and wry, Ms. Loren uses her not inconsiderable gifts well," wrote Brian Arsenault in The International Review of Music. "Heart First is an eclectic yet personal release that sidesteps some of the more self-limiting categories induced by the recording industry in favor of a far more organic approach as a story teller," reported @Critical Jazz in a 5-star review.
Loren performed a concert with the Corvallis-OSU Symphony Orchestra and her touring band (Matt Treder, Mark Schneider, Brian West, and William Seiji Marsh) on March 9, 2012, featuring more than a dozen new arrangements by pianist Treder and guest conductor Rob Birdwell.
Stages was re-released by Justin Time Records on July 10, 2012, with the addition of two bonus tracks from live performances in South Korea and Japan. Many Times, Many Ways was re-released by Justin Time Records on September 11, 2012.
