Arnold Palmer Presents Jim Nantz - 2009 NSMA National Sportscaster of the Year

On May 3, 2010, Arnold Palmer presented Jim Nantz with the NSMA (then
NSSA) 2009 National Sportscaster ofthe Year Award. This is Arnie's
speech, during which he commented on the friendships he had with many
sports media, and told the story of how Nantz, 25 years earlier, got
the call from CBS Sports

I was a volunteer for many years at the AT&T tourney. Pebble Beach. I served as a communications volunteer on the 3rd hole at Spyglass, a downhill par 3 right by the ocean. Beautiful. The great Arnold Palmer was the last group thru my hole. He finished then teed off the 4th, a shortest par 4 with a tight green. Arnie teed off, I followed him inside the ropes down the fairway. His caddie, Arnie and I, an absolute nobody volunteer, had a great conversation, most of which is not shared but I learned that Arnie did not like pizza. He was as genuine and real as my dad. What a great man
