Great video on how to climb the mast when your alone ,with triple safety measures. Certainely the sliding knot is a great backup if things go really wrong.
This is reason #1 why sailing would be a huge hurdle for me. As i have gotten older my issues with heights has gotten a little worse. I still want to try but i would have to pay someone to do this and check my rigging with a drone.
What an amazing place! Yes!!! Definitely agree with you. This is an amazing place and you have depicted it perfectly. Jealous?!?! Of course I am. ;-) Tricky question for you. Do you prefer the Caribbean or Spain? Or other? Maybe Greece? If you had one choice, where you would want to sail?
Great question! For my favorite towns, the food, good prices, and the friendliest local people probably in Greece. Spain has a great vibe and beautiful locations. Caribbean is awesome depending on where. I’ve sailed in the BVIs. Very nice. St. Vincent and Grenadines also great. Loved Tobago Cays there. And Bahamas (while maybe technically not the Caribbean) is awesome and maybe my favorite as far as beautifully colored waters. Main downside with Bahamas is everything is very expensive and it’s best with a catamaran or shallow draft boat. Other parts of Caribbean also fairly expensive. So Greece is definitely at the top of list. Main problem there is they can have unpredictable weather with heavy winds a lot. So, there are pros and cons to each. I feel lucky to have experience all of these places. I’d love to go to Thailand or Indonesia and that area to experience that. ⛵️🌅
@@JoshPostVlogs thank you for the detailed reply. I agree every destination is different and has pros and cons. Depending on the what one values the most, the favourite locations may change accordingly. I could not comprehend how expensive the Caribbean could be until I saw your former clips a while ago. So far several you-tubers sailors seem to be drawn to the Caribbean and Indonesia. Indonesia however seems to be challenging in terms of getting visas etc. Anyway thank you for the great video as per usual. Thoroughly enjoy your story telling and also thank you to Andy for sharing the rock climbing gear solution to climb up the mast. 👍👍👍
Me too! The sea colour is lovely, but having people go past blasting music like that would be enough to make me set sail again quickly. The mast-climbing info is great, though!
Hey Josh. Love your video s. Been a follower since the sailing lessons. One question. You use many mooring buoys. Have you ever seen them lengthening tge rope attached to them.... regarding global warming, rising sea s ?
Apart from the Med, most cruising locations are Tidal or very tidal, the nouring buoys are already set to deal with large height swings in tide. They are generally loose, even at high tide with a decent swing room.
Andy has the knowledge , humour and the british accent . All the good qualities for a good sailing ⛵️
Thanks for that explanation - very informative

Looks super crowded to me. Not my idea of a paradise. To each their own I guess. I'll take an island in the middle of nowhere any day of the week.
