For CB operation it is important to change the menu 12.FR--CH from "FREQ" to "Chan". In this way, the frequency assigned to a channel is kept when switching through the channels, even if the frequency is shown in the display. For amateur radio operation, select "FREQ" and you have 40 different "VFOs".
I heard from a couple different sources that the FCC is going to allow FM on the CB band don’t know if that’s accurate or not and besides that even if it isn’t accurate you can use FM on CB. because the FCC don’t care what you do on CB band. Another reason why they don’t care they dropped licensing for CB radios I think something like 20 some years ago don’t remember cause it’s been so long.
What is the advantage of using fm on cb?? Do you just select fm, and talk like normal?? Can others who don't have fm hear you?? Alot of questions, but I am curious, & a bit ignorant!!
@@rgnichols567 If I remember from years ago listening to AM on a FM signal or vice a versa I think it does sound distorted but FM‘s got a better sound quality than AM my personal opinion and all the newer CB’s coming out have it built in now with AM & FM or single side band. I hope that answers your question.
Thanks sounds awesome and simple to operate any information would be greatly appreciated I own a mess of radios I just want to add this to my collection plan not to go in side of it and just run a 3 or 4 watt key on am with a small amplifier going to it they recommend not to run it at full power all the time a lot of people say they gonna use it for a base station that's what I plan to do I have base station galaxy Saturn and a cobra 2000 and 7 other base station radios and amplifiers any information would be greatly appreciated Mike Holden out of north Carolina said that they tell me the radio does not have to be gone in that you can use it stock but do not run the radio wide open it's not good on the duel finals I'm going to purchase a stand that has a fan built in with external speakers can't beat that cools the radio and lights up blue under it very interested please send me any helpful information would be greatly appreciated Mike Holden said thank you
If you screw it all up, can you do a factory reset and then start over? I don’t even know if a factory reset exists on this radio. I just got it today and went a little crazy turning knobs.
Because if you press the frequency button and change the freq, it will save that freq to the channel you were in. So just make sure if you are in vfo mode and scrolling through frequencies, instead of channels, that you put it back to.the proper frequency allocated for the channel
Oh ya! You can either select the other bands like e f&g or you can use the vfo and tune it all the way up to 30 MHz. This is a very capable 10 meter radio, that's what I use it for.. I also use it to monitor the CB band in my truck
Have this radio. Great radio. No one has ever given me a bad report. Everyone always tells me it sounds great.
I love it
It's a stryker 955 board

Thank you for sharing all the information. I got to get me one of these.
FM is not a ham band.. Its just another mode just like USB and LSB and can be used on 11 meters as well. Just say'n.
Yep got me right where I needed to be.
Thank you so much im gonna buy this
Exactly what I was looking for thank you
FM isn’t ham radio it’s a mod just like am and SSB also fm is now legal on cb!
Not till 2022
@@richardcarroll2605 seems to be 2022
Not at the time of the filming of this video Einstein
It's not a mod it's a mode

FM on CB has been approved and licensing for CB ended 40 years ago. Around 1983.
@@airshotsphotoco Thank you for the information. I knew it has been a long time. I guess I was off by 20 years. Thank You for the information.

Its a great radio stock!
Yes it did, but I am now trying to get the squelch off so I can hear 😁
Go through the menu options and check out your auto squelch settings sometimes it's a little difficult
Thanks 👍
Fm isn't ham. It's only ham if you're using it on ham frequencies. If you're on cb aka 11 meters, it's fm on those frequencies.
Were you able to do this straight from the factory or have to program it differently to do what was shown on the video? Thanks
Straight from the factory
Not to sound stupid, but is it always on side band or will i be able to talk to others with plane jane cb radios?
wil this work on the new anytone 6666 pro?
Very useful video. Thanks. Question: If you switch te set off will it start with cb next time?
It will stay in the mode you select

Why are people having trouble with the cb channels? Debating on purchasing this radio

Does it have the A channels like the RCI? example... 19A instead of 19.
No. But click the vfo button in and you can scroll up 10 hz for in between stuff
I have a question after you do that little trick to make it into a CB radio band how do you put it back to the original way.
Do the same steps and put it back in HF mode which would be 10 m mode
So your sayin you can access cb/sideband without a freq conversion ? Thanks
Yes you don't have to do anything except for the menu driven conversion
❤
When changing to the CB band does the radio lower the watage output to legal limits?
Full power on CB. About 60 watts
How I can reset radio?
You can just turn it on and push the mode button and it'll go to am
Does anyone know how many watts this is pushing in 11 meter
60 watts
is this radio hardware converted to use 11m ?
That's what he just demonstrated
Will it go above 40 like 27.445.00 ?

Cant you just turn it on and talk? Jesus lol
No. If you don't know what an export radio is and why they exist, you shouldn't buy this. Just but a cheap cobra
@@thesuccessfulbarber 😝
Better camera angle would be nice.
@@maxdonoghue8935 it’s a $300 radio that’s what it is lol
Will this out perform a coleco cb40?
