Hello joanna, I understand stand your fear!realize your greatness, your not standing in front of a large amount of people but a camera, your so pretty and the world would love to watch you speak to them, use a mirror to practice your script, have a glass of mead, for the nerves and angsity! Being a Druid means speaking to all types of life, you've got this I've read the comments on you blog, people love you so much already!and you cause them to think! Shine your light bright, this is what people need right now, you touch on stuff that I teach my to my neophytes, no judgment just advice, it's all about you and your craft, I use to imagine speaking to elfin folk, when I first started and that was in a group of people, it's silly but it worked me, and I still do it today!it helps to have a excellent imagination, besides the fact I absolutely love pointed ears!,I would even send reiki out to everyone, while speaking a hidden benefit, after all its about magickal tools, and the reiki will relax people ,give them comfort, the world's a stage, and nothing is true and everything is permitted, so have fun with it. ...😆

Hi James, yes, over the years since I filmed this video I've gotten much better, and now work without a script for the most part when speaking directly to the camera. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement.
At Druid College we teach that there are many ways to be a Druid priest, and some of these ways do not involve speaking with or working with a human community at all, and so the necessity for public speaking kind of falls by the wayside. I know that as an author, I'm much more comfortable behind the written word, rather than the speaking voice. That's my nature. Others have other strengths, and I honour them all :)

How about YES?!!! ;). Thank you for the very sweetly and positive explanation. I have so many cups and bowls and sets of whatnot. LoL. I have a sitting chalice that stands on the altar most of the year. I keep it filled with ritual water. Then I have a silver well, cups for libations, outdweller cups, cauldrons, burning dishes and I said to myself.... so what is the difference? Until now I had not heard the cauldron as a representative of ancestry. But the moment you said it it all made total sense. You have a new fan!!!

Isn't it nice to wake up from someone's light, you can learn from a child playing, and when you apply that simple approach, you wisdom fills you for all to see, or not. ..lol....

Interesting. I guess it really depends on what tradition of Druidry you follow as to how you use these "tools". The bowl or the cauldron can be used as a Well for the Ancestors. The Cauldron can also be used to hold and burn smudge to smudge the folk, or if you have two small ones, can be used to hold & burn smudge at the 'entry' way into the sacred space so the folk are censed upon entry to said space. And the bowl as stated can be used to hold offering items for the gods, the Ancestors, the Deities of the occasion, the Nature Spirits, Mother Earth, the list goes on. If you are leading ritual for others you should have at least 6 bowls. The Cup would/could/should be used to drink whiskey, or mead for the Waters of life. A lot of folk today don't like to drink out of the same cup so one is ok for one person or a hand fasting couple but is rather impractical in todays Druidry - unless you are going to use it only to pour liquid into other things. Shot glasses are a trending favorite option. I would rate these Druidry tools and her description as pretty accurate.

The Awen alone and Hedgedruid are wonderful books and my introduction to druidry. Got all the tools and can cast a circle. This path resonates with me more, can’t afford the obod course. Not getting new stuff with the Awen symbol. My )0( things are fine. BB

My question is when will the neo Druids, stop using scripts when explaining their mysteries? And when doing elaborate rituals, I am a former Druid ,but what I've learned over a period of time your rituals should never be over a page and a half, period! , scripts are only used to memorize the rituals in private, but when you preforme, the rituals in public and out in the country! No scripts all should be preformed by memory this will bring a dynamic performance to the gods, and nature spirits, I don't care what anyone says in this matter, our druid masters required the neophyte to memorize everything, I learned this from my magus, when I studied in the I.O.T, and it stands to this day, my rituals are powerful, and it will manifest, with desired effect, and cause change to occur, with the right intent, once again the old ways shows us where real magick manifests, through our creativity, the same is for teaching on your blog, this is just advice from an old godi my dear lady something to keep in mind, thank you for your effort......🙄

Hi James - thanks for your input. I would say that many people are hesitant, if not filled with anxiety, when talking in front of people, and so using a script can help them overcome that fear. It can be used as a starting point, a platform to get you over that anxiety, and once you have become more used to public speaking, you get more confidence to go "off script". I know in my rituals, they are not scripted at all, but that was only after years and years of experience that I'm now comfortable to just say what's in my heart, and able to open my heart, mind and soul to the world around me and speak from a place of deep connection, immersed in the moment, with confidence in my ability. When I first started making videos, I needed notes to help me as I was not used to the new format of speaking in front of a camera - it's a very strange experience, knowing people from all over the world will be watching, and subsequently for many years to come, this one moment in time. As I've progressed in my videos, again I've found more confidence. So my advice would be to go gently, with compassion, as people are finding their feet :)

I read that it took 19 year for the complete formation of a Druid and that they would not write anything, but 19 years is a lot of time to practice and memorize. A script or notes are needed during the time of formation and when you begin to face a camera to explain something to an audience. The best actors in movies and theater have "notes" hidden somewhere in front of them.
I am one not gifted with a great memory, I can "wing" something but if I have to recited something verbatim, I can't.
I can't get enough of your videos. I leaner a lot. You are truly mesmerizing and I will learn more. I have adopted you as my mentor and inspiration.
The path in front of me...at my age and as a late comer into this wisdom and transformational path...just begun. @@joanna_vanderhoeven
