There is a little book that teaches you how to take care of your cello, and besides that, you can get infos from a good Luthier -- the book is available at Amazon. I will get the name and put it here later. I don't have it by heart.
There is also a little appliance you can use to check the level of humidity and temperature in the room you keep your cello. I have it at home and it needs a battery that takes long to expire.
When I bought mine the Luthier gave me a cloth used to take the rosin from the instrument after playing it and when I play I also put a silk scarf behind, between the cello and my chest so if I sweat it doesn't hurt the cello in its back.
So, I keep one piece of cloth to take the rosin from the strings after playing and another piece of cloth to take the rosin from the body of the cello -- I don't mix it so I don't transfer rosin from strings to the body and vice-versa.
And from time to time I bring my cello to a Luthier so he can check it for me and see if it is all ok.

I watched your 'What's In My Cello Case." video. On the strength of that I have bought a hygrometer and a Humistat. I live on the west coast of Scotland at around 250ft above sea level...thank you for this insightful advice. Take care. 🌹🌹🌹

How should I get my bridge adjusted with the virus and everything? I don’t know the next time I will be in-person in a lesson with my teacher.

I know this is an older post, but do you have links for the humidity devices she was talking about? Specifically the bolvata? and stretto? if that is what she was saying? Also any opinions about what "Ideal" humidity is?
