The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

I’ve grown to appreciate Wayne Newton’s talents, particularly the 1960s version of Wayne.
A true singer and showman. The great wayne Newton.
Show woman don't be fulled
And this is Mr. New Vegas telling ya your nobody until somebody loves ya and I love you
He was a young man out on his own.
He was holding it and pulling it off.
He had a good voice back in the day.
Naw...he sounded like a girl....I'll take Jack Jones vocals over this guy any day..
@@SSGTA440 I’ll take Frankie lymon Vocals over Jack jones
@@theog2315 Frankie Lymon? Really?...I guess it depends on your tastes...I was just making a blatant "out of the park" comparison...
As crooners go...Jack Jones, real smooth and great tonal quality...
@@SSGTA440 is Jack jones in the rock n roll hall of fame?
He had a great voice, too many singers of the day have good voices.
Wayne was a natural at performer. It was like he was always having fun.
Is
She
He very much still is
He’s still going I’m going to see him live in may can’t wait
Let's talk about the picture quality, shall we? The picture elicited from the Norelco PC-60 class cameras was remarkable given that CBS Studio 50 was next door to a subway substation with a DC transformer that caused such problems that the cameras had to be equipped with mumetal shields. Unless this was taped at CBS Television City, where Sullivan sometimes originated some shows per year? But there's no mistaking the color from this camera vs., say, the RCA TK-41 workhorses still being operated over at "another network."
He performed last night here in NJ and still has that same smile and plenty of energy. Crowd loved him.
That boy can swing!!! Jesus has blessed his throat pipes!!!
Thank you so much for this! I've always liked this song and it was a fair-sized hit for Wayne. It's got a bit of a "Danke Schoen" feel to it. Hope to see more Wayne, and thank you again!
He was 55 when he was 20.
Rather listen to Wayne sing anyday over todays pop idol dross.
Wayne Newton is the Best!! Thank you for your talent and love with your Voice singing like an angel ❤. You are a great man.
A womans voice don't be fulled
Wayne Newton and the actor David Hasselhoff favor each other!!!😊❤
Brilliant performer!!!
Old Wayne is a shadow of young Wayne. When I listen to his Vegas performances I feel so embarassed by his vocal decline that I have to stop before he ends. But I keep coming back to his early stage - great voice, frazing and charm - complete showman!
Respect to a man who still gives the crowd his all at 81!
Wayne at his best ! Gotta love this 1!
I remember wayne on the Bonanza Christmas episode.
I like this song
Wayne is awesome
Beautiful
Bobby Darin produced his first hit record and Wayne considered him his mentor.
I still love him❤❤❤
Love it..
I remember several years ago in the interview with Wayne Newton he was telling a story that Johnny Carson always used to make fun of him in his monologues that he was gay or a sissy and Wayne finally got sick of it went to his office one day at NBC just walked right in and told him Jonny if you don’t quit the shit I’m gonna give you a beating he said Johnny Carson about shit his pantsNeedless to say Johnny Carson never mentioned anything about the 6’ 3 “ Wayne newton again
Flawless. My Goodness, Ed Sullivan was an odd one. Perhaps he hated the joy/fame the acts had, but here... he might as well have been introducing root canal work. Jeepers.
Wayne is was a woman transsexual don't be fulled
Fantástico
Another great song by Bert Kaempfert,
The same Bert Kaempfert, whom several years prior, whose company was recording a group by the name of The Beatles( Pete Best drummer @ that time) backing Liverpool singer-guitarist Tony Sheridan, making a series of tunes, in a school hall in Hamburg. This was 1961, I think. Mixed in were a couple of Beatles tracks, instrumental " Cry For A Shadow", a Lennon- Harrison comp, featuring George Harrison,& a John Lennon interpretation of " Ain't She Sweet". As said " rest is history"
Good Gosh, I hope he doesn’t get canceled ☕️ Y’all need to wake up an smell that coffee ☕️
Tremendous performer. Great voice.
thought it was kd lange at first. great voice
😂😂😂
Who could not love him. So young, so talented, and he knew how to use it.
He had a very adolescent voice at that age.
He went into puberty late, the longer it’s held off the taller boys get, he’s a tall guy!
that'll be because he's an adolescent, at that age!
He was 23.
He sounds like he's been huffing helium.
Ladies and gentlemen MR WAYNE NEWTON
Que hermosa cancion
He was a great singer and showman, sad his voice changed
GOAT LEGEND
Wayne is was a woman transsexual don't be fulled look at its first recording low womans voice and the figure
That "word " does not mean greatest. ...it is baphomet worship. Don't say it! !!
National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation and Superbowl LVIII brought me here Ellen.
Wayne. Could..really..sing....in..days..gone..by..
“They say ‘remember when’ is the lowest form of conversation”
Missed seeing "Mr. Las Vegas" in Vegas, but as luck would have it he came to nearby Knoxville TN on 9/14/2023 to do a song & story show. Great to hear him sing, play several instruments and show clips of vintage solos and collaborations. A great talent, even at 81.
Mr New Vegas 😎
such a better time......what happened
✡️
He must have been so comforting to the parents and grandparents who were horrified by The Rolling Stones and Chuck Berry.
Sad that he didn't keep his voice the way it was. He had such a smooth voice, great performance
Teo shoes night in Vegas take his toll on anyone
In that time we had Wayne Newton. Now days, Justin Bieber.
he was popular until his voice changed that was the end of him
what exactly happened
actually, when his voice change, that was the beginning of him and what happened then? he ended up becoming the king of Las Vegas. You call that the end of him?
@@disrespect3021 Wayne Newton always had a 3 octave range, but his coach always made him sing in the highest octave. But by 1971, he got another coach that helped him pull his voice down to the bottom octave.
Regarding Wayne Newton going to Johnny Carson's office to confront him about the uncalled for remarks said about him, Johnny was no wimp. Although Newton stood four inches taller than Carson, I'm sure Johnny was more taken by surprise rather than being a coward. During World War ll, Johnny was an amateur boxer in the navy and was undefeated. He was 10-0. He would have won more matches but Japan surrendered. Carson should not have mocked Newton, but he wasn't craven.
He's a distant cousin!
Ma non è David Hasselhoff????
Did he ever get married?
Mr Las Vegas, one of the great showmen however lately he has gone over the top with his plastic surgery which has left him barely recognizable.
He always seemed so feminine to me. He was "cute", too.
coz he was born female. In his 20s on Ed Sullivan.
He looks and sounds like a gay woman.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
as a kid I always thought he was a girl...my Mother would always scold me and tell me what a great voice he had...
Now I can't unsee it...
Look up transvestigation and celebrities on yt. You'll be shooked.
he looks like a giant 2 years old baby
Ha Ha
He looks like a lesbian except for the fact that he is very tall, has a large, masculine head and basically doesnt actually look like a lesbian at all.
Gee she had long legs !!
boooo lol
Am l the only person who thinks Wayne was born a female?
It’s quite obvious he is actually she. Padded shoulder pads etc. and you can’t tell me that’s a man singing
One of the early examples of a transgender celebrity. You have to congratulate them on their courage.
WHAT? No he was a guy, he was not transgender......christ
Not transgender. From what I've heard Wayne's voice has not lowered in puberty and he had to do a hormone treatment to lower his voice. And what I heard from his voice in his discograhy reassures me that's what happened as his voice randomly dropped.
@@KajiVocals He just went into late puberty, that’s all, he may have had some testosterone tx excell it but it’s perfectly normal.
@@michdoug1 Late puberty… into the late 20s? His voice has changed in the early 70s.
That awkward kid... singing thru his teeth. So cringe
Sure looks, acts, and sings like K D Lange
Coz its a female.
