  • ANC leader President Cyril Ramaphosa says universal healthcare is a 'no-brainer' and says the NHI will ensure healthcare for all, the poor and the rich.
    He denies its signing into law last week was strategically timed.

    Useless journalists asking useless questions. Should have asked him as a president, has he ever used public hospitals for medical attention and take it from there.

    Smh, I don't know if I should be disappointed by the line of questioning & it's lack of diligent detail, or by President Ramaphosa telling stories as always.

    Might be better to start with building an economy that supports a jobs for all including a decent nutritious meal ( less Healthcare needed then) and an education - everything else would follow, like less crime etc etc

    If the British NHS has millions of patients waiting for treatment what hope do we have. The ANC's track record is not exactly great; however the ANC has a propensity to loot.

    Very disappointed, the NHI sounds like a good idea but there is no concrete plan and I was hoping the journalist are going to ask direct details and expose him that he signed a law with no concrete plan. Its like signing a law saying we will hire 20 million people with no action plan what use is it.......

    Fair enough medical care is good for S A first of all rural areas don't have good living conditions which was promised for 30 years and not delivered didn't come out with a plan and now NHI people will like this b coz they were put into a position to like just how it was done for free education last election as long as there is no good education government will say what people will like to hear

    • @naze1266
      @naze1266 4 місяці тому

      Just like free education, but, in 30yrs, how many pre-schools, primary schools, high schools, technical colleges, or varsities have they built?
      On the contrary, they closed nursing training colleges and teachers training colleges

      @@naze1266Most new schools have been built by the private sector-no new state schools have been built in the past 20 years in the area in which I live-despite the fact that the population keeps on.increasing due to people moving here.State schools are taking strain.

    NHI is a step in the right direction, after it has been implemented, there should no longer be private and public hospitals, only public hospitals. So acquisition of private hospitals, and nationalisation of insurance companies & all the funds that have already been established. Taxes should also be increased, it's for the benefit of all. So I don't understand the resistance, rather we focus on making it work than trying to sabotage it.

      Yes, its a great idea. But that is all it will ever be. We all know how this is going to go, the same way PRASA, The post office, transnet, our education system, Denel, SAA, etc etc... Dont be a fool.. This ANC is interested in one thing, and that is enriching themselves.

      With such high unemployment figures and not all employed paying tax - there are about 7 million taxpayers, increasing tax is simply an obscene proposition. Those that can leave, including doctors, are likely to do so, thereby further diminishing the tax base. The whole thing is unsustainable.

    • @solani5621
