I've mentioned in a previous video, but I love the diagrams provided in these videos. It really paints the picture as too what you need to look out for

Excellent video. I shared this video with my nephew who is keen on fiahing for trout, but frustrated that he hasn't caught any yet.
This video will help him understand how to read the water.

Great video Tom. I always appreciate Pete’s casting tips too. I just learned a couple things on why I get tangles sometimes and will try to apply the fixes.

I love your videos but I still suck at fly fishing lol. I spent the entire time I was in the army dreaming about fishing and now I e been collecting stuff for a while. I’m the dude that went and bought tons and tons of stuff and probably don’t need half of it but now I’m to the point where I can’t buy what I need. Experience and a clue about what I’m doing

Thank you for your service sir.
It'll come man, I spent years trying to get things figured out. A couple of guided trips would have been the most helpful I think but I'm getting better.
Best thing I've actually done to improve is moved closer to good fishing.

Work at one type at a time, dry, wet, nymphing, streamer. Learn the rigging, then technic how to cast. Do it till you got it down, then learn to read the water, reading Moving Water is so important, watch these videos over and over. Reading Moving Water is like, what a fish finder does in a boat on a Lake. You have to put in the time, you'll get it, takes time. 👊🏽

We all still have bad days, but boy do the good ones make you forget those bad ones. Keep dreaming, watch videos and make friends with fellow fly fishers where you live. The more gear I have is the more I have to share and pass it on.

Alan i suggest that you also see if there is a fly fishing club in your area. The clubs usually have hands in educational events that can cut your learning curb.
