These titles are mediocre. It’s the same tired style we’ve had since 2019, but much worse in execution than before. I am really surprised that these are being well received. More than ever, the sequence looks like it was put together with run of the mill clips from the show. The framing of the shots is poor, exposing so much background that just doesn’t need to be seen because it’s not all that visually appealing. With the camera being so panned out, there’s no depth to the image at all, everything is in focus and flat. It also looks like they were shot with actor credits in mind. Then the inconsistent motion. WHY are so many of the shots static when the sequence is supposed to be gliding along? It’s really jarring. Karl and Susan’s shot moves so much faster than any of the others. The theme song is just ahead of the 2013 version, at the bottom of the ranks. I was really excited to see the titles but they are so so ‘meh’. One thing I DO like; Karl and Susan NOT being in some pathos-ridden final shot. I didn’t like the cheesy, self-aware ‘guardians of the street’ thing they had going. I like that they are in the middle of the sequence, just as important as anyone else.

Great opening sequence. It’s got a nostalgic feel to them which a lot of other shows don’t have these days. 5 stars
