I always chuckle when Beast in X3: The Last Stand, tells Logan “Boy, I’ve been fighting for mutant rights before you had claws” 😂 not knowing he’s close to being 200 years old
When Wolverien originally had the adamantium bonded to him it was an improper process causing it to poison him. When Apocalypse redid the process it was done properly and no longer poisoning him. At least that is how the writers explained it, plus it's known in the comics that if the process is done incorrectly the body rejects the metal and it poisons the body. A prime example is Bullseye, he has an adamantium spine and he does not suffer from being poisoned due to the process being done correctly.

I heard it's going to be a lot of death in the finale 😢 But I'm glad you explained that he will get it back. Onslaught is coming 😭 I can't wait to see how this will end and great video, Charlie ❤
as I recall, it was Bryan Singer that pushed Wolverine and Rogue into the spotlight in those early movies. The rest of the movies kept that theme of focusing on one or two characters. Mystique being the worst of the that trend. I'm sure the popularity of Hugh Jackson's Wolverine factored into the subsequent movies but it was Singer that started the trend.
Great explanation of Wolverine's powers, and a breakdown of adamantium. Comic book readers weren't as shocked, this was amazing to see on X-men 97. We're just waiting for Onslaught's arrival!
Without Adamantium Wolverine’s healing factor and strength drastically increases so the only drawback is he can’t cut through everything. Also if his limbs are chopped off he presumably can grow them back like Deadpool.
The Onslaught arc in the comics was also unpopular with fans when it was first released. If they do Onslaught now, I think it will be way more popular as well.

Losing claws that can cut through most stuff seems like a pretty big nerf. It negated most types of blocking and still left him with a very strong healing factor. For example, unless his bones are different, they can't go through any serious body armour or mechanical enemy (centinels). The added strength and agility are good, but it seems like he would have no choice but to switch to fighting without using his claws most of the time
I don't know that I agree that Wolverine is stronger now. It's a trade-off. His healing factor is now stronger and he's lighter, but he can't do things like slice through metal without adamantium, and you can break his bones more easily.
@@senya1672no he’s completely right. His bone claws are wayy more dense, and could cut through crazy things, but he’s way more powerful WITH it. He’s just temporarily more feral and beastly when it’s out due to him, not the claws or him being coated
Actually, having adamantium only in claws will be the best. The only weakness is his claws, they can break (they literally just a bones), but returning adamantium to his claws will make him nearly omega level threat
Wolverine's healing factor being nerfed in the movie "Logan" due to adamantium poisoning has been theorized to be bullcrap. We know that he thinks that's happening, but he's not a reliable narrator in that part. In the same movie it's been stated there's no new mutants since they manipulated the corn syrup in a way that prevents the powers from activating. What if it also puts the brakes on existing mutant powers such as Logans healing factor? Alternatively, it could be that his healing factor is slowing down due to his age. The healing factor slows his aging but doesn't prevent it entirely. Could be that at over 250 years of age his powers have become weaker. But what if both happen at the same time? The syrup weakens his healing factor causing him to age faster than he has in decades (look at how much older he looks between the end of the Wolverine and the start of Logan) which further weakens his healing factor. I feel like this is a better explanation than “metal bones bad” because they haven’t established or hinted towards that in any of the earlier movies. Of course, I’m not an avid comic reader, so I could be wrong.
In the comics, having the adamantium bonded to his skeleton does actually nerf his healing factor to an extent because it's constantly working to counteract the adamantium poisoning - kind of like how Deadpool's is always working to kill the cancer cells in his body. So Wolverine without the adamantium is indeed more powerful because his healing factor is massively boosted and he's much faster/lighter on his feet without the adamantium weighing him down. Obviously the tradeoff is that his bones/claws are no longer nigh indestructible. On a more abstract level though, not having the adamantium does mess with his psyche for a long time after he gets it removed because it's been on his body for so long he kind of views it as part of his identity, but obviously he gets over it eventually.
Just finished Eps.10. Great series. I’m really glad they kept the grittiness of the comics and didn’t tone it down for kids like they did with the old series. I loved all the other cameos too.
The phrase he said was also said by magneto in “The Final Decision” episode when they went off to fight Master Mold. “The brave are always the first to die”
Also, he’s actually “more dangerous” without his healing it has been stated in comics!More powerful…..naw. More dangerous in ways…..and his healing is kicked up…..but overall way NOT more powerful lol he is way more destructive and more of a beast with the Adamantium, but him going feral has nothing to do with him not having the metal, it’s just his body going through a traumatic state. He’s more of a threat to big shots with metal
Not sure about more powerful but he defo got even more interesting when he lost his adamantium and finally regained his healing factor (hope they run with that, give us some solo episodes with him). With any luck, if they go the full whack and hopefully introduce new characters to this, maybe some Electra, which would be a nice hint at a daredevil animated series, which I would watch sooooo hard if they did that but kept the tv series level of gravitas!!
Wolverine's adamantium skeleton poisoned his entire body and weakened his healing factor. But, without it, he's going to mutate into a mindless feral beast.
Only because of the trauma from having it ripped out of him did he go feral. He doesn’t need the metal to maintain his sanity, so they might not even go that route in the show
He doesn't go feral because of the admantium being ripped off or because it is now off.. he went feral because Genesis tried to rebond adamantium to his skeleton and failed. THAT is what triggered the feral change.
In the comics Wolverine healing factor did kick into overdrive after losing the adamantium. The only reason he went feral was because Cable's son tried to bond Adamantium back into Wolverine's body but the process went wrong and Wolverine snapped and then went feral.
One thing I REALLY want to see now that they've finally shown Cable's backstory, and that they're bringing Apocalypse into this, is that they lead into The Executioner's Song maybe at the end of Season 2. Stryfe is my favorite X-Men villain, I really really want to see this storyline on the animated series.
I think saying his healing factor is working overtime when he has the adamantium is a OVERstatement lol he was able to live for a few centuries with the adamantium. I also think it was a great move making Wolverine more of a side character. Wolves does dominate the screen 😂
He didn’t have the adamantium for centuries. Department H gave him the adamantium skeleton remember? They weren’t around two hundred years ago. And Logan is only about 200 years old anyway.
I think what they are saying is that Wolverine's healing factor is as strong as Deadpool's, so it is overcharged when dealing with an external material fuser with his bones. Maybe without the adamantium Wolverine can regrow limbs and recover faster They aren't saying his healing factor is weak, just "distracted" dealing with metal on his bones
Finally! I love Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine but when I see the X-men, it’s the team dynamic that has always appealed to me. It’s about time we get to know the others. I hope we get to see Longshot, Dazzler, Kitty Pride, and a lot more of Colossus.
Excellent job. I’m going to show this to my 15 year old to explain why Wolverine is a LEGEND. The Apocalypse story was awkward tho… gonna fast forward there lol.
I actively read Wolverine during this time, let me tell you something.... It's such a horrible storyline that they abandoned the feral wolverine story within a few months.
I haven't seen the episode, but let's be clear, without the pretty inevitable plot armour wolverine didn't just "try" to kill Magneto. Getting run through the centre of the upper chest with three blades, especially that size of blades, is pretty much guaranteed to be fatal, even if not instantly lethal. So while its definitely plausible that magneto would stay alive and conscious for a minute or so, long enough to retaliate, without plot armour he's definitely stone dead, unless Jean intervenes and by like telekinetically patching his lungs and major blood vessels while they get him to a hospital. Which I assume is very much not what happens. Also, if the adamantium is what keeps him from devolving into a feral beast, kind of seems like that's a huge plus, not a problem. But from the description it rather seems like the adamantium made his healing factor go berserk, because remember, he was alive for like a hundred years without devolving before the adamantium, and then devolves in only a short time.
Wasn't it Genesis (Cable's son) that attempted to turn Wolverine into a horseman of Apocalypse? If I recall, that was from the 100th issue, still got it somewhere in a box. Although the adamantium had bonded to a true molecular level that time, Wolvie consciously expelled it in order to save Cannonball's life from Genesis' Dark Riders. He turned himself into an adamantium shards claymore, took out 2 enemies that way. Then he ripped through the entire gang, including Genesis who got slashed into a bloodied rag.
But tell me, without the adamantium in his body, how will he be able to cut through solid objects? Because no offense, his bone claws aren't exactly strong enough.
@@YayoHernandez-b1j read a comic kid, or watch the old cartoon. He's got a Japanese wife and Eveything, tied into the ninja, and speaks better Japanese then he does English. His sword when it comes around peak between somewhere between captain's shield and thor's hammer.
X-men is Hella tight - the writing/story is as engaging as any show out here, and the philosophy spat out by each character is worth their weight in real life…
I hated the useless bone claws in the comics and especially that absurd “feral Wolverine” storyline. They completely ruined Wolverine during that time and I truly hope they skip that. I feel like they are cramming too much in these episodes, making them look totally incompetent when they keep getting tragedies and defeats dumped on them relentlessly. And I really hope they get their 90s uniforms back as well. I need “X-Men ‘97”, NOT “X-Men ‘79”.
I went back to check out the original after how dope this show is.... The original is completely different. Couldn't get through 4 episodes. Just way too for children. Guess I missed out on that one but damn I'm loving this. Thank you for covering all the stuff so I could just tune in and have an understanding of where these characters are compared to the films. Like, I swear, the films make Xavier far more compassionate in tone. I totally get the 'professor' title. A little more conviction in hist one and commanding. Scott is actually dope af I love this dude and I'm still not use to it not being centered around Logan lmao. They better bring Gambit back though... And holy shit, Storm is amazing! I want to see a movie based on THIS Storm. She's such a bad ass bro no offense to H.B. this just comes off as a real Goddess yk?
yes! i was hoping they'd go in this direction with the show also. & even though bone claws just aren't AS cool as the adamantium blades, i am loving the stakes in x-men '97 - they are NOT f'ing around!
You would think that extra weight that he’s so used to carrying around instantly disappearing would also make him even faster too, and maybe they’ve played into that in the comics as well. I’m SO EXCITED for the finale, but that also means now we have to wait for season 2, which is gonna suck lol. Season 1 has been ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!
A Danny Devito Wolverine would be f&@king sick, cause he was one of the original actors whose name was attached to Wolverine back in the mid 90s. Knowing Ryan Reynolds’s, he knows this too. I’m hoping we get a cameo.
I was SO happy that Wolverine was more of a side character in '97. He's a very important part of who the X-Men are, but he's often treated like the main character instead of being part of the team.
it was poisoning him,but it also was keeping him from going completely feral also. So it was kinda a double edge sword. He was kinda dangerous to everyone even friends in that feral form.
Awsome viddeo 👍 I think that the next season might deal with a vaulrable Wolverine & Jean to be his whisperer sort to teather him, or calm him from becoming full fury Wolverine, & will be great to see him & Gambit becoming horsemen of Apocalypse hopfelly.Very excited & can't wait for tomorrow to watch the finalle, & am wondering what the final scene & cliffhanger will be, & how big it will be. I just hope we won't have to wait more than a year to get the next season that they are already working on 💛💛💖👍😊
Also, in the 1990's book, Apocolypse uses deathwatch beetles to eat Cyber and leave his adamantium behind. Then, Apocolypse has Sabertooth and Wolverine fight to see who will become the Death Horseman. Genesis then rebonds Wolverine's skeleton with Adamantium.
It's wolverine. I am pretty sure he didn't go in for a kill shot. He's been in wars. Killing is his game. If he wanted to kill Magneto in that moment, he would have. He only tried to subdue him to buy gold team some time. On the other hand, Magneto went in for the kill.

He doesn’t need the metal to maintain his sanity, so they might not even go that route in the show
@@theprodigalsun__ if they had more seasons planned they could definitely explore the feral Wolverine arc a bit.
This could explain why they nerfed him this season
He doesn't go feral because of the admantium being ripped off or because it is now off.. he went feral because Genesis tried to rebond adamantium to his skeleton and failed. THAT is what triggered the feral change.
I clicked on the video to here this
I wish we got Xmen movies as good as Xmen 97.
Wolverine better keep his powers. He needs too, to fight the Hulk!
His powers are fine, in fact they're working normally now.
The Morph, old man Sinister mimic 😂😂
Logan didn't fight in the us civil war, that was only in the movies. He is Canadian after all
It’s so crazy how each episode has only gotten better & better. Great reviews Charlie! 🤞🏾
I would love to see a vibranium Wolverine
It would basically have the same affect on his body as the adamantium
Maybe it'll be a What IF episode one day.
@@emergencyawesomebut it’s not poisonous is it?
The finale is awesome 👌🏽!
I don't want this seasons to end
You what they say: "All good things must come to an end."
@kazallroberts well a season 2 or more would be nice
@@code066funkinbird3 I know, Season 2 is being released in 2025 while Season 3 is development.
In the comics Wolverine healing factor did kick into overdrive after losing the adamantium. The only reason he went feral was because Cable's son tried to bond Adamantium back into Wolverine's body but the process went wrong and Wolverine snapped and then went feral.
Here comes Onslaught...
Wolverine lived 200 years without having a gray hair but when exposed to admantian he aged like normal human
Maybe without the adamantium Wolverine can regrow limbs and recover faster
They aren't saying his healing factor is weak, just "distracted" dealing with metal on his bones
"To me my Adamantium" lol.
Lmao
Finally! I love Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine but when I see the X-men, it’s the team dynamic that has always appealed to me. It’s about time we get to know the others. I hope we get to see Longshot, Dazzler, Kitty Pride, and a lot more of Colossus.
I've always thought the animated universe of X-Men 97' to be the one we saw in Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness.
It's meant to be riffing on that, but it's not the actual x-men animated series universe.
Excellent job. I’m going to show this to my 15 year old to explain why Wolverine is a LEGEND. The Apocalypse story was awkward tho… gonna fast forward there lol.
Feral logan incoming...
Also Wolverine as a Horseman of Apocalypse.
I actively read Wolverine during this time, let me tell you something.... It's such a horrible storyline that they abandoned the feral wolverine story within a few months.
@@ibrohiem Yeah, dude had 200 years to evolve then suddenly he's feral?...lame af.
"Congratulations Magnus, you played yourself and possibly paved the way to Onslaught's coming"
Don't forget, he is a master samurai.
@@mindsight9732 metal does he have one like that
@@YayoHernandez-b1j read a comic kid, or watch the old cartoon. He's got a Japanese wife and Eveything, tied into the ninja, and speaks better Japanese then he does English. His sword when it comes around peak between somewhere between captain's shield and thor's hammer.
marvel's Muramasa_Blade
X-men is Hella tight - the writing/story is as engaging as any show out here, and the philosophy spat out by each character is worth their weight in real life…
Feral wolverine looked so derpy in the comics. I'm glad it didnt last long before he got his admantium back.
Dude just enjoy the show and appreciate we have such a great show on hand
She's such a bad ass bro no offense to H.B. this just comes off as a real Goddess yk?
they lost me when they had Morph change into Jean Grey and go gay for Wolverine LOL
You projected your inner rainbow.
I hope we get apocalypse and onslaught and gambit in the season finale
I hoped in future season of x-men 97 we get to do Cassandra nova
yes! i was hoping they'd go in this direction with the show also. & even though bone claws just aren't AS cool as the adamantium blades, i am loving the stakes in x-men '97 - they are NOT f'ing around!
They are pulling no punches!
I have the solution. 24 episodes per season and keep it at 5 seasons. That way everyone will get their time to shine.
I'm pretty sure it was Cyber who apocalypse took the adamantium from in the comics. Sabretooth doesn't have admantium
A Danny Devito Wolverine would be f&@king sick, cause he was one of the original actors whose name was attached to Wolverine back in the mid 90s. Knowing Ryan Reynolds’s, he knows this too. I’m hoping we get a cameo.
He needs to be alpha flight Puck
X-men 97 is hands down in the top 3 marvel animations.
It's wolverine. I am pretty sure he didn't go in for a kill shot. He's been in wars. Killing is his game. If he wanted to kill Magneto in that moment, he would have. He only tried to subdue him to buy gold team some time. On the other hand, Magneto went in for the kill.
I’m just waiting on Sabretooth to appear in some of these episodes!
That episode finale was...so metal
