I have a bunch of variable displacement vane pumps at work and some of them have the volume adjustment bolt screwed in farther. It seems that the farther in it is the more even the intake and outtake is just by opening one up and messing around with it. I'm just trying to figure out why you would want it to have a more limited output with more input. (bolt screwed in farther or out farther). With the bolt screwed in farther and a more even input/output it seems to work better. We run at 1400-1650 psi. Any kind of explanation on why it might be better to have the bolt in vs out would be great! (Rexroth Bosch15 pumps)

Unbalanced vane pump and variable displacement vane pump are almost same, just in variable one there is spring screw and reaction ring right?
