The magazine is on the underside of the rifle. AFAIK, wildlife can randomly spawn anytime anywhere. But if you go hunting with Pekka, animals spawning seems to be (at least nearly) guaranteed. I don't think the places he takes you to are any special unless he's with you. Having said that, the field next to the shop is one place he takes you to, and it has moose and deer quite often even without him.
