I wanted to get the Civic but was a little concerned about the ground clerence where I live, but this seems like the best alternative since its based on the civic should retain most of the driving dynamics? Any comments on that? The jdm zr-v is fitted with a multilink rear suspension correct?

This really pisses me off that Honda doesn’t offer any of these options on the US variant. I think the US variant, also known as the HR-V, is a great car design & handling wise. However, the engine is trash, and you can’t option anything decent beyond AWD. It’s frustrating to know that all the options one could want in this vehicle exists, but it not made available in a market that offers this vehicle under a different moniker.
So they released in US, Japan, and... China which I left the country. So what about this car the will release on ASEAN countries, including Malaysia?😂😂

As you said, the ZR-V is based on the Civic.
And it has a MacPherson type front and a multi-link type rear.

In Japan, it is called "tip-up mechanism", but ZR-V does not have that mechanism.
