    Hardy, now this kinda stuff I love. I love drawing Zombies
    and ugly creatures. This is right up my alley. I haven't tried it yet but you can bet I will be. Thank you for another wonderful tutorial.

    Hey Hardy! Beautiful work as always! It’s so amazing of you to share your knowledge, experience, and process with aspiring artists! If I’d had a teacher like you when I was in my late teens and early 20’s, my life and career path would look completely different. That said, I’ve heard that ‘you’re never too old to start an art career’… well…after purchasing (and currently working through) all of your Udemy courses, with plans to join your Academy when I get my chops up a little bit… my goal is to test that statement for myself after a couple of years of working through your programs. You’re an inspiration, and an amazing teacher! If there’s anyone who can jump start my middle-ages brain into learning some new skills and techniques, it’d be you!
    Thank you so much!

      Hi Michael - thanks, that seriously makes my day. I'd love a chance to work together in the academy and see what levels can be reached. If it's any comfort, there is a fairly wide age range in the current session, so new careers should no be ruled out! Good luck and stay in touch!

    Woo! Another Hardy Fowler video! Love your videos and can't wait for your next tutorial pack to come out. On the topic of inspiration for artwork and story telling, I've always found games like DnD and their adventures are always gold mine for character and environmental design. Hardy have you ever played DnD?

    • @fowlerillus
      @fowlerillus  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks! I never actually got into the game itself but I've always loved DnD artwork, even as a kid. Some amazing stuff over the years.

    I don’t think I’ve learned so much so fast ever.
    A big thank you 🙏🏼 to you.

    Hey Hardy, i've literally purchase all of your courses on Udemy. One thing i wanted to ask was the battleaxe part of the warrior tutorial. I've purchaed the painting machines course but i couldn't see the axe tutorial. I haven't completed this course yet so is it hidden in the content there somewhere. Thank you for all you do to help us struggling artists.

    If I sign for your courses, can I use my iPad Pro & Procreate to learn digital painting?

  • @rulerovall1219

    Ok QUESTION.
    How are you adding the values to the character when the sketch layer is Harley visible? How can you see where you’re going? Idk that lost me.

    • @fowlerillus
      @fowlerillus  3 роки тому +1

      I try to keep it just visible enough for me to see what I'm doing but really light so that none of the sketch will show up in the final painting. It's great to keep the sketch (or a copy) on its own layer so that you can always make it darker or just make it visible to check where you're painting. I hope that's helpful!

    Hi, Hardy. I love your videos and I'd really like to know how you make the silhouette! Somehow I can't figure it out.
    I've tried selecting my sketch and filling it in with the paint bucket tool but it always selects the wrong parts and gets messed up. Maybe I'm not making clear enough sketches.
    Thanks :)

    • @fowlerillus

      Definitely make sure that there are no gaps in your line art all the way around the figure. If that is √ make sure that the "contiguous" box is checked when using the magic wand too. That should work!

      Hi David - I'm so glad to hear it and thanks for your interest. Yes! I have huge things coming this Spring. I've been spending all of this past crazy year creating a master academy. It's specifically designed to replace art school and launch careers in concept art. I'll be completely relaunching digital painting studio with a new look, new interface and some awesome course bundle deals for all of the existing content. I think it's going to be an awesome resource and I am soooo close to having it all ready. Thanks again for the message - that's my favorite thing to hear.

    Hardy as always excellent! a question how do you study faces or any object with your technique? I'm not talking about copying the object exactly the same, but I'm curious how you can take advantage of something like this, by the way I have bought all your courses and they are wonderful thanks to your work in the industry

    • @fowlerillus
      @fowlerillus  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks Alan. I try to look for the value edges in any object I'm rendering - areas where light cuts to dark very abruptly. I've found that to be the single greatest factor to getting more realistic forms - with faces more than anything.

    Hello hardy fowler do u have a tutorial of value (for beginners ofc) and how to apply value to humans and not just some sphere (because I don't really know how to apply value to other than basic shape) and please maybe make it simple so dummy like me can understand (I know this is a huge demand from a nobody like me, and im sorry for that, it's just I don't know how understand value especially to apply them to things , even I already seen a lot of video talking about value and I still didn't get a lot from those vids)

    • @fowlerillus
      @fowlerillus  3 роки тому +2

      Hi! I am working on a course on painting people and it will be extremely comprehensive. Value will be a huge part of it. In the meantime, I would check out some of Proko's channel's resources on apply value to human figures. He really does a nice job breaking it down and going from fundamentals to advanced.
