His only qualities were that he came from a well-off family, has a descent job and is loving to her. Why didn’t she want better? Because she thought a hotter guy would treat her like crap, cheat on her and hurt her feelings. So she settled for what was more important. She is happy because she thinks that overall, her non-attractive husband is the best thing going for her. When women thing “there is better fish for me out there than the guy I am with right now”, that’s when the Devil starts tempting them on their weak spots. ------------------ Some women ruin their lives dumping a nice guy thinking that a better one will make them happy. The most desirable man to a woman is a man who has a good balance of everything-- good hair, good face, good skin, masculine physical and mental features, tall enough, rich enough, sexual enough, good enough social status. Of course, this all differs between women, but their biology is hardwired to make their attraction be more than just looks-- which explains why women have always chased after older men over their better looking, younger male peers. The younger male peers lack in virtually all aspects when compared to the older man, except in looks of course, but yet the older man has much more success(and this isn't even anecdotal since the sexual peak of a man begins in his mid 30s). However, having everything is near impossible unless you're a male celebrity like Brad Pitt, Henry Cavill, etc, so women will naturally go towards men with social status, resources and success because all of these things help her and her offspring. But if the man isn't well balanced in every category, and might look/act a little beta, when women get into heat, they'll definitely start seeking the alpha men she desires. For a woman to be 100% attracted and in love with a man, you have to be that guy that can keep her attracted to you while she's in a rational state of mind with stable hormones AND for when she gets into that time of the month where she's in heat from all the rush of hormones she's experiencing(which studies have shown women change their preferences to more masculine, alpha traits/men). You are missing the essential meaning and scientific facts regarding hypergamy. Hypergamy is an INNATE drive, whereby females generally find males of higher socioeconomic status more attractive. Put another way, male socioeconomic status is generally a trait that attract females. It is more than merely a social construct. It is a biological and psychological instinct. Nor is it definitive, meaning any one woman may be attracted to some other man for whatever reason - maybe he is 6' tall or something - than a competitor with greater resources. But male socioeconomic status IS, GENERALLY, a primary attracting factor for women.

When I’m looking at a woman I actively avoid focussing solely on looks. There are plenty of tests to validate a woman’s suitability for marriage and motherhood but looks aren’t at the top. About this video in particular, I would like to make a constructive counterpoint. I don't believe is reasonable to take women's "spoken demands" seriously. In my personal and theorical experience, most women have no clue about what make them attracted. If was true that women, for example, want a guy with looks and money, it would be almost impossible to see a women chasing a guy that is not so good looking and rich as other guys she has available. And this happens a lot. I agree that the materialistic aspects of reality (i.g. looks and money) are important, but they are definitely not the most pertinent criteria to understand behavior, to describe or predict the raise and fluctuation of attraction.

I think this subject requires more nuance. When men say women only want attractive men, they're not talking about it in terms of relationships, they're talking about sex. I think you're saying that women won't necessarily stay with a guy who's just attractive for a long term relationship and I don't know how true that is but women will definitely have short term relationship and have sex with them which is the thing that the men talking about this mostly want and that's true.

For example: I have a cousin who ever since she was 8 she looked like a Disney Princess. I thought she would marry some really hot rich guy, but no! She married a pudgy shy guy; he is tall but with a belly and skinny arms. His only qualities were that he came from a well-off family, has a descent job and is loving to her. Why didn’t she want better?
Because she thought a hotter guy would treat her like crap, cheat on her and hurt her feelings. So she settled for what was more important. She is happy because she thinks that overall, her non-attractive husband is the best thing going for her.
When women thing “there is better fish for me out there than the guy I am with right now”, that’s when the Devil starts tempting them on their weak spots.

The most desirable man to a woman is a man who has a good balance of everything-- good hair, good face, good skin, masculine physical and mental features, tall enough, rich enough, sexual enough, good enough social status. Of course, this all differs between women, but their biology is hardwired to make their attraction be more than just looks-- which explains why women have always chased after older men over their better looking, younger male peers. The younger male peers lack in virtually all aspects when compared to the older man, except in looks of course, but yet the older man has much more success(and this isn't even anecdotal since the sexual peak of a man begins in his mid 30s).
However, having everything is near impossible unless you're a male celebrity like Brad Pitt, Henry Cavill, etc, so women will naturally go towards men with social status, resources and success because all of these things help her and her offspring. But if the man isn't well balanced in every category, and might look/act a little beta, when women get into heat, they'll definitely start seeking the alpha men she desires.
For a woman to be 100% attracted and in love with a man, you have to be that guy that can keep her attracted to you while she's in a rational state of mind with stable hormones AND for when she gets into that time of the month where she's in heat from all the rush of hormones she's experiencing(which studies have shown women change their preferences to more masculine, alpha traits/men). If you aren't this type of man, she is settling and rationalizing the relationship with you, with the potential of her dropping you at her whim when she comes across a man who sparks and manipulates the emotions in her.

When I’m looking at a woman I actively avoid focussing solely on looks. There are plenty of tests to validate a woman’s suitability for marriage and motherhood but looks aren’t at the top. At the top, or close to it, is the fact that I want a woman who can help me educate our children to the point they can walk through life’s basics and by the time they should be at university they’re already earning good money or learning a STEM field.

About this video in particular, I would like to make a constructive counterpoint. I don't believe is reasonable to take women's "spoken demands" seriously. In my personal and theorical experience, most women have no clue about what make them attracted. If was true that women, for example, want a guy with looks and money, it would be almost impossible to see a women chasing a guy that is not so good looking and rich as other guys she has available. And this happens a lot. I agree that the materialistic aspects of reality (i.g. looks and money) are important, but they are definitely not the most pertinent criteria to understand behavior, to describe or predict the raise and fluctuation of attraction.
It's not just one thing, it never is. There is also variability in preferences. For instance, there are sapiophiles that make up a significant minority of Women. They would prefer a Mensan of average height to a tall Man of average intelligence. The mechanism is the same, the priorities are different. They want to breed with good genes, and set up with a good provider. It is what it is.
Imagine people as Machines with cogs (priorities). Every person will have different sized cogs, but you can see certain cogs have still + - the same size. I think this subject requires more nuance. When men say women only want attractive men, they're not talking about it in terms of relationships, they're talking about sex. I think you're saying that women won't necessarily stay with a guy who's just attractive for a long term relationship and I don't know how true that is but women will definitely have short term relationship and have sex with them which is the thing that the men talking about this mostly want and that's true.

You can say this about all aspects of human behaviour. You can make all kinds of excuses for people who break the law for example but can easily argue their behaviour is within a 'normal' distribution of expected behaviours.
