      I really think they get the items, they research the item then film the bit to make them seem knowledgeable about everything. Rarely does something come in they have no idea about.

      @@rodbender8862 Its actually not staged. Its a real pawn shop. I stopped in when I went to Vegas. Its a lot smaller in person. I saw some of the items they bought on TV for sale so I'm assuming it's not staged. The funny dialog between the guys i.e Chum, Rick and Corey is probably scripted though.

    What gets me every time is that the people that bring in these items expect top dollar or more and fail to get the idea that Rick or any other pawn broker has to buy lower and sell higher and be able to pay the bills in between.

    I love it when people go into a Pawn shop and actually think that they’ll get the price that they are asking for. I was just in a Pawn shop the other day looking to get a cheap iPhone that I can use for a 2nd line. The guy I was waiting behind was offended that he was only offered 20 bucks for his used lawn mower. “But I paid $250 for it when I bought it?!”
    Like seriously dude a 3 year old lawn mower that’s been used, and wasn’t even cleaned, and you think that you’re getting even half of what you paid for it?! It’s a Pawn Shop!!!

    I'd like to see an episode where someone actually pawns something, then comes back a month later and pays their loan to get it back.
