Thank you for posting this video. I haven't seen a recent video on his bows, so this was awesome to find. I am thinking about putting a deposit on a Thunderchild Myself. Hopefully next month and then like the other person said, its going to be a long year.😅

I love his Thunderchilds! I am shooting a 56” that is right at 50# @29”! It’s about 6 years old, so it’s worth the wait. Shoot fast, consistent, and quiet! Hope yours turns out well my friend!

Put it at 81/2 and let it stretch. It will stretch quit a bit.

    Looks a nice bow!
I shoot traditional bows also, but my favourite always comes back to the samick sage, allways call it my friend!!
After shooting many carbon and fiberglass shafts ive just ordered a set of six custom made American red cedar. As i .i e in the UK, no hunting with arrows allowed. Envious of you guys in the states. Gun laws and even knives stricter than most countries.
Shame as an outdoors man ive access to private woodland where i hammock and camp.most mornings i wake up and red deer have been as close as 15yards away. But the law is tne law😢
Shooting field and 3D targets instead.
Enjoy your new bow ! 😊

We have a samick sage that we bowfish with, they are good bows. You should try out a black hunter bow I’ve heard that they are basically a smoother samick sage!

Phil 4: 6&7...thanks, I needed that reminder today.
I have a deposit down on a Thunderchild. Gonna be a long year!

Ok my bow date is soon, between the Monarch and the Thunder child which do you like best. I have been even thinking about the Buffalo bow too. Enjoy the videos

I learned to shoot with a Thunderchild so I love that little bow. The mountain monarch is really nice too thought. We had a 60” and a 54” both shot great. The bow in the video is a 54” and is the quietest bow I’ve ever heard! Never have shot a Buffalo. I think it will come down to your style! I like a shorter bow 56-58” because I have found it helps in hunting situations. You can’t make a bad choice!

I just saw this in recommended videos. I build the strings for BigJim. That was probably one of the strings I sent him a couple weeks ago. Good luck on your hunt in Kentucky. I live in Kentucky, so you may not be far from us.

We’ve probably been shooting with your string for a while now. I shoot a Thunderchild that is about 7 years old! Thanks for the comment!

I have 4 Mountain Monarchs...The Mountain Monarch, in my opinion, is easily Big Jim's finest,,,

Damn you made me nervous the way you attacked that new custom bow with that knife. Yikes.

Awesome bow. Is that a medium grip on that bow.

I think it is. Wish I would’ve gotten a bigger grip. Love the bow though!

I understand that man! They’re expensive but are worth it for sure. Have a ThunderChild too that is about 7 years old I believe and is still in almost perfect condition! Good luck to you and God bless you and your family!

I added a brown shark skin grip from Big Jim’s to it myself and now it really looks slick!

Is that a medium grip and is high, medium or low wrist. I like the look of it and that’s why I ask.

I’m not really sure. It’s not what Big Jim usually does though. A little thicker than usual so my dad could fit it to his hand better

This 56” Mountain Monarch is one of the quietest bows I’ve shot.
