Tekton is not magic immune.
Normal Void is actually the best ranged armor for dps with 0/6/0 slightly edging out over Masori.
NOTES:
Not mentioned throughout the video but I feel 1t weapons such as the blowpipe may be a huge trap. If you need to move you are halving your dps. Your dps would go from say, 25 to 12.5. Luckily this will mostly be the case in raids and raids already drop a tbow. Be advised.
I noticed I say 7.5 DPS sometimes, I meant 7.5 percent DPS.
Blowpipe and T3 Ranged play very nicely together but keep in mind darts and knives are 1t too.
I may overvalue Assembler as Max cape (and accumulators?) are now available everywhere.
I noticed I mention going Varlamore on a 5/5/0 route. The Melee T6 buffs the Sunlight spear more as the echo attacks will give you Sunlight stacks. So for a Sunlight Spear build, consider going 6/4 instead.
I mentioned 6/0/4 gives you a 3t Tumeken, it's 4t. More reasons not to like 6/0/4.
The Bellator Ring should not be disregarded when considering alternatives for Fremmy ring. I was playing around with the idea of skipping Fremennik and it looks like Bellator (Asgarnia) calcs higher than Ultor (Varlamore) on slash weapons (a lot of them are slash).
Welcome to my deepdive on echo items. I think I got a half-decent grasp on the combat masteries. I will provide some routes in this video but seeing that now all relics are known, they might change in the near future.
My echo-item video: • OSRS Leagues 5 - Echo ...
Feel free to check my other video but I fear it might be outdated: • OSRS Leagues 5 - Guide...
I feel like the meta right now is reinforced into Tirannwn+Frem but we do have some options. I kind of expect the meta to shift slightly because I am expecting more combat relics, who knows.

Not mentioned throughout the video but I feel 1t weapons such as the blowpipe may be a huge trap. If you need to move you are halving your dps. Your dps would go from say, 25 to 12.5. Luckily this will mostly be the case in raids and raids already drop a tbow. Be advised. There's some other small noted I added to the description.
My main use, as far as I've considered, for 1t bp is for Grotesque Guardians (Echo variant probably not) since I never move during Dawn, if get frozen I get frozen. I could use for more mundane stuff like certain slay tasks but unless I'm getting ranged xp on some weird meta we discover I probably won't give it any other use outside of maybe Ahrim and Karil.
Bringing a slower weapon like bofa or a crossbow for movement would mitigate the impact on your dps
This is the reason that I think crossbow builds are really underrated... with just Frem you are getting both dragon crossbow and dragon bolts (and crazy healing if using onyx bolts e), INSANE value for just one region. With dragon crossbow you are easily hitting something like 26dps, without as much fear of dps loss with darts/blowpipes since it is 2 tick. ZCB is ONLY good for the spec since range accuracy is useless, so the question is then is ZCB spec worth a region pick, which I would argue probably not. Intending to run wilderness instead for the fun pvm content + webweaver spec instead
@@rich9100 I agree. The DPS difference between ZCB and other crossbows when not speccing isn't high. ZCB only really starts shining with a relic like Weapon Master.
Soulreaper ax with crystal armour for range melee
Thank God you came in clutch, I didn't want to have to think for myself!
thanks for the vid. i like how you made considerations for the average player who want to enjoy pvm but might not be able to clear zuk or echo sol. many of the other content creators automatically assume everyone would be getting 10 points to spend but thats only for the minority of players.
This is a great break down. Honestly need more of this.
hey man you have made by far the most useful videos leading up to leagues so far great work. you give solid arguments for your positions and pretty thorough information in a time where every other video is a simple recap of the reveal.
These vids are so enjoyable, scratch the itch in just the right way!
I've been going through every combination and was eager for this to drop. Love your analysis.
I'm heavily leaning towards VMT & 640 for my melee route. I get that chasing DPS through Frem is dopamine, but i want to learn colosseum mechanics. You get amulet of rancour and ultor ring anyway which ultimately makes you only lose out on 6 strength bonus and some accuracy. That alone won't be noticable enough for me to justify NOT doing content I want to learn for the main game.
I'll also go range with TFZ on an alt to learn cox. I honestly feel min-maxing is really fun on paper while we hype ourselves up to Leagues, but not in practice. It's 8 weeks. So make sure to route your gameplan after content you find exciting, want to learn, or already enjoy doing in the main game. It's going to be a bad time if you pick things you don't see yourself enjoying or wanting to explore just because you want to chase a max hit or two. Let's have fun guys!^^
Asgarnia for 0/6/0 Ranged is insane for progression. Void can be unlocked Day 1, and amethyst darts will be the most friendly end-game ammo source to gather by far with T1 Mining. By day 2 you could get T6 ranged, Void, and a massive dart stack, which is enough DPS to do almost anything. Including all the reasons you gave it's on par with Fremmenik for me for Ranged.
Loving these vids a ton
don't quote me on this, but i do believe you'll need to unlock the desert to be able to smith the darts. i know you can fletch dropped dart tips though.
@@ilikewoodenclogs amethyst darts dont need tourist trap or smithing, it uses crafting
And fletching.
New combat relics make specs huge for slayer/inferno/col but don't see it changing anything on this list tbh
Sunlit braces with t4 range will almost certainly be 11hp per 5 ticks. Jagex favors additive % modifiers to multiplicative. So you're getting 220% healing (base + 100% + 20%) rather than 240% (2.0*1.2)
@@bengarrison6073 perhaps you are right. Husky did vaguely mention 12 hp so idk.
I've seen a lot of rangers excited about the potential of wearing tank armor and not sacrificing that much DPS, but something to keep in mind is that some metal armor tops like the Justiciar chestguard Interfere with an assembler. This makes a huge difference with ammo consumption even with the base 95% saving you get. Ammo saving becomes exponentially better the closer you get to 100%. Assuming you don't waste time picking up darts/arrows you will lose 84 darts per hour with a 1T BP and assembler. No assembler makes this 300 an hour. Most bows will shoot at 2T so they will lose half that per hour.
I would be conservative with dragon ammo and use amethyst or rune if you are learning content and wearing tank armor. The highest KC challenge for Vorkath was 300 last league, and that is only going to get you about 700 darts. Dragon ammo comes in slow and can be burned through quicker than you think.
The torva platebody is compatible with the assembler though funnily enough. Really good option for asgarina rangers learning inferno.
@@Human_Taxidermy this is a really interesting comment. One thing though with power miner apparently amethyst becomes mega fast so you could do that for your tier 1 relic
@@Velikan314 Yeah, amethyst ammo will be great, my comment was just mostly trying to emphasize that the dragon ammo you do get your hands on really should be used wisely since it is BIS and pretty limited.
I do think it is worth noting that rune darts have the same max hit as amethyst darts in many setups or just 1 lower, making them a great alternative for very reliable ammo if you don't want Asgarnia. This will require the Desert to get them in mass, but the Desert already contains 1 of the 2 BPs. Everyone has access to the TzHaar-Hur-Rin shop for reunite ore, so you won't be as restricted by relic choice for them either.
these are amazing videos. I really like the presentation, and I like your insights.
You remind me of that one POE guy... Great content in otherwords :)
Glad to see I'm not completely batshit for planning on Justiciar ranging. FAM seem's like a lot of fun.
26:20 i've been kinda leaning into dogsword spec and i think a neat point to bring up with this 4/6 split is by taking t6 ranged with the dogsword, you can just ranged in full torva with no consequence (as long as you don't have desert). Easy switches for big specs!
100% accruacy reduces the value of dogsword specs though
@@joshholmes1372 i mean the goal of dogsword specs isn't dps with a 4/6 split, but it's easy to optimize for it. Mass heal/freeze/offence reduction would be the use.
But remember that without melee T5 your Dogsword is only 4tick, instead of 3tick it could be with T5 melee
@johannesmanninen6416 I actually started after the echo reveals wanted to main melee with the dogsword, I just think t6 melee is a bit boring, and two t5 will just end up with me only using one style anyways. Still time to make fast dogsword interesting I guess
Would love to hear your thoughts on the combat relic tiers
Thank you for these videos. Keep up the good work :)
Velikan out here with another banger
You do not need blowpipe for ranged as a melee goer. Varlamore atlatl + eclipse set is 2t with the T3 range mastery. Drygore is higher dps on paper, but as a melee user you are mostly using ranged when doing content like Zuk or raids, and the second you are forced to move, drygore loses a huge chunk of dps, which atlatl does not. It also scales with strength gear, which is what you're maximising as a meleer obviously, and on top of that, the dps calcs with atlatl puts it at very high dps, but they do not calculate in the burn procs, so it is even higher than what is shown. Varlamore also drops Ultor ring which boosts it further.
what would you take instead? this sounds more my preference
@@BIGPILGRIM420I'm going varlamore, morty and tiranwynn
I’m excited to see how the khopesh builds turn out :) If there’s a spec relic that reduces all specials to 20% again, then I could see this weapon being extremely strong when paired with Total Recall 🙏
going VDM, leaning 6/3/1 but considering 5/5/0
I think a potential combat relic that could make sense to fix things like Dharoks, would be a relic that changes the masteries' healing to extra damage or defense, such as 5% chance to apply a bleed.
Range seems to be the most viable off-style. I think that's why the Drygore was designed. It overlaps with T6 for accuracy boost, but Drygore really shines when used at T3-T5 as an off-style weapon. [DF? -- 640] gives 30+ DPS in melee and range without relying at all on ultra-rare drops.
As noted, you do lose DPS by having a very fast attack speed, however in my own calculations and simulations 1 tick is about 10% less DPS than 2 tick (assuming target dummy DPS is equivalent you should always prefer longer attack time). 4 tick or 5 tick would be much better, but there are no weapons in that category.
As always, your videos are some of the most thoughtful league analysis on youtube. Looking forward to the next one.
we all traveled the world only to end up right back where we started
in the desert
@@currentcommerce4774 Desert is horrible if you're going range. You're wasting a region doing that. If it's because toa is the only raid you know, leagues is for learning new content.
I think even X/1/X benefits from the Drygore, it's still a 2t fang-like blowpipe after all. With a 30% mininum? Ooh baby.
@@iZaners Desert is horrible for range...? It gives masori, tbow, blowpipe, and the darts to use the blowpipe. Keep hitting that crack pipe bud.
@@TheReddaredevil223 tbow comes from every raid, you cant smith the two best darts you'll want to be using with a blowpipe so desert is irrelevant for that, and drygore blowpipe overlaps so much with range masteries that it becomes a throwaway pick if youre t6ing range. this is why desert is bad for range. literally only has masori as a true boon which is a lot less substantial than other regions are for main style dps like fremmy jewellery, zcb, or the toxic bp
Ranged void using the second best range prayer is nearly identical dps to Masori using the best range prayer. This means any Asgarnia range build doesn't really need Zeah or grimoire, and can enjoy a much slower prayer drain.
Added bonus is easily achievable early / mid. Last league I ended up burned out on a massive rev weapon, voidwaker, GWD and Raids grind to "finish" my build. This time around gonna focus on a strong mid game build instead and if I get a raids drops then yahoo if not ohwell
Doesn't that just mean that void with the best prayer is far and away better than masori? I see that as more of a reason to go grimoire than not
@@OGGangstaT sure but there is more to raids then just maxing out every possible numerical value of dps. Lot of the relics are huge time savers if your already doing solid DPS on top of it all. 2 months game mode. I learned my lesson last leagues DPS isn't everything
@OGGangstaT void gains less from prayer than masori because it gives the percentage boost you normally only get from prayer. Masori just gives more flat range strength and needs the higher percent boost from the better prayer. Void with the best prayer can kill Zuk like, 1 second faster than than with the second best.
Normal Void is actually the best ranged armor with 0/6/0.
That's good to know, let me add that to the notes.
@@Velikan314 its interesting bc since the drygore doesnt benefit from the t5 range relic and isn't as strong as the normal bp at t6, it almost makes me consider dropping desert entirely as a t6 ranger and replacing it with asgarnia. Vorkath drops d dart tips commonly anyway. The big downside being no raids access at that point since itll be ATF.
@@citrusmillie296 asgarnia is defo really good. could just drop Tirannwn and pick a raid region instead. it's not even that good for a t6 ranged build imo. BP is good but you can just rawdog dragon darts/knives until tbow. crystal blessing is amazing for 5/5 and 6/4 builds, but for t6 ranged i don't think it's worth spending all that time in CG for a weapon/set that isn't BIS
I'm here because a jmod gave you a shoutout
Dragon darts are also found in Frem, If you grab Zeah for your raid you could get a buckler along the way to tbow and darts with buckler is equal dps to the blowpipes.
Frem gives Dragonfire Ward already if you want a different region for -2 in shield slot.
Plus with Zeah for the raid region, you get your ranged prayer without needing to take Grimoire.
I like the looks of a 2/6/2 build. Mage will hit like a truck, if you swap to mage hit 90% of your max hit, it does an extra 90% damage. And melee will hit higher 25% of the time, and 10% of the time it will hit twice... range will be your bread and butter, you can swap to others when you need to with a healthy boost to all attack styles.
If you want to do that you'd be better off going 3 or 4 points into magic. Saving a tick is way better than the small dps boost you get from the melee points that you'll barely use anyway.
Also I think you (and many others) are imagining a far better version of the magic nuke than is actually written in the mastery description. It doesn't say "between your magic attacks" it says "between your attacks". I'm 99% sure you have to have not attacked with ANY style for 8 ticks to get the maximum 40% damage boost. Still has its uses, like an ice/blood barrage on nibblers at the start of a wave, but it's not something you can just weave into your ranged attacks for more dps.
Also, even a +40% 4t Tumeken hit in basically-max mage (minus kand which you won't pick with a primary ranged build) is still going to be lower dps than 1t BP or 2t tbow. IMO if you're going T6 ranged, you should not use any other styles for general dps, only for niche situations which can't be brute forced by your ranged dps. For example: if you're in desert, put 3-4 points in melee so you can DDS spec the core in TOA p2 wardens. Or spec into magic to barrage nibblers as previously mentioned (though if you take fremmy you could just use venny bow instead).
The wiki's dps calc puts the hespori salamander at roughly same dps as trident (with t5 mage). So assuming that echo boss isn't ridiculously difficult, probably reasonable progression & gets you your raids region at the same time.
Great write up, your suggestions for a mage route solidified my choices and i am gonna go for it. Everyone is hating on Kandarin but I still like it's very good for mage to pick. We want all the %dmg we can get. I think like you said, people are overvaluing 1t weapons because it's not like you can dodge mechanics/move and hit every tick unless you're woox of course 😆😆.
Love the PowerPoint! Simple. Effective.
zaf best damage combo for rangers assuming you grind a tbow with the damage boost from void being 11% higher dps than masori, and i dont mind losing a blowpipe hard to maximize dps anywhere that involves moving with a 1 tick weapon
I agree with you but what mob are you calcing against? I'm calcing masori vs void at around a 4% dps difference against Olm head.
@ olm head, I was having 45 vs 50.1
@ just reran it, forgot to check challenge mode. The bigger difference came from regular. I see the closer dps gap in challenge
Nah, gl running CM tekton at t6 ranger lol
@ it’s called t3 melee lil bro. It’s one room I’ll be fine
I think people are sleeping on how much the Zeah echo weapon helps with magic weapon progression. In basic gear, it's performing quite well, at about 30-50% higher DPS than ancients. It's no shadow, but it's well over double the DPS of fire waving things without elemental weakness, and should help with the gap until Tumeken's.
Personally always try to use the Leagues to push for content I have never done. My current goals are ToB, and Colosseum. That being said, last leagues I went range and it was fun, but I regretted not going for the fun meme build with the Door. That being said, I'll take the hit not going Frem because the Dogsword seems like too much fun. Asgarnia, Morytania, and Varlamore is my route most likely. Leaning towards a magic secondary just because of Nightmare/Occult/Ahrim. All this depends on spec attack relic though!
While the t6 mage might make you send several execute hits in he air which could waste some attacks, if they're gaurenteed max hits that means the t4 healing mastery will heal you multiple times
I think what he is saying is this: Let’s say an NPC is just outside execute threshold HP. You fire a spell that would have got them down to execute range, but they are 10 tiles away. You would need to fire two more spells before that spell got there and you could finally calculate an execution.
You could still keep firing at the corpse, like you do to heal in the inferno, but it’s not to actually get the kill, just heal.
asgarnia, fremmy is a solid pick if u want very easy to get T6 build for range (elite void, avas, monarchs, emperor, and pick any range wep, rune knives, blowpipe, rcb, acb, zcb, tbow u name it theyre all good with this setup) all are like 30+ dps, youll get access to amethyst as well
I think going asganina, valamore, fremennik. as a 4,6,0 going for max str gear and useing the eclipse atlatl. for a 2 tick never missing high damage range weapon, and you can still swap to a melee weapon with no gear swap. though a tbow would still hit harder
Still gonna go melee with morytania/fremennik/asgarnia. Probably 6-1-3 for masteries, potentially 6-3-1 with kbow.
Definitely planning ZF for a ?/?/6 Magic build, but my third region is still up in the air for me
It's gonna be between T or M (no ToB) though. I want to keep my offstyles in mind, but really not sure if I want to put the rest of my points into Melee or Ranged
My leagues endgame is honestly Baron pet farm, so I have that little bastard for all futures leagues, so I'm leaning 4(3 because Zuk)/0/6, but still not sure
Here's the cook for your mage progress, you do kandarin + Fremennik. And instead going to Desert you go Mory. You got the dart for healing from GG, you have nice progression of ahrim to nm staff to shadow. NM staff with surge shouldnt be behind too much from shadow.
thorough.
I feel more confident in going 6/4/0 now, even tho I dont think sup spear will ever be as good as it should be
T3 range tbow is just fine for zuk, plus you can use dragon darts until zuk
2tick karils with buffed set bonus might be the better off style range option for realistically keeping dps up, as 1tick isn't practical. Also worth mentioning that t3 speed buffs impact slower weapons more. Dogsword goes from 6tick to 4tick for example, making range focus asgarnia with melee backup decent.
Honestly thinking karils is going to be sleeper op.
The dps calcs I've seen put it about on par with 1t drygore blowpipe
So with full accuracy your dps is really high
Also at a 2t attack speed you can move between attacks without dropping dps if there are mechanics that need that like the falling rocks in toa etc.
I like Tirannwn + Frem + Mory for a ranged tank. Full Justiciar, echo jewellry, toxic BP, Ava's, guardian boots and regen bracelet giving 29.7 dps, only ~10% less than the max BP dps of 32.4 when using the same items but with void armour. With the T6 relic, zaryte crossbow is no better than a dragon crossbow, except for its spec, and we don't have a spec relic so far this league, and we can farm a DCB with just fremmy unlocked which is BiS for ranged. So these choices gives insane tank, twisted bow, toxic BP which is better than drygore, and DCB which is only a bit worse than ZCB.
I'm thinking about WTD. A raid region seems totally necessary given megarare vouchers and such. Wildy sword and shield sound awesome, and I've never tried wildy. Tirannwyn blessing with wildy sword will be super strong, I've never done tirannwyn, and I wanna do some gauntlet.
This way, I can go 6/4/0 or 6/3/1 with the drygore being very accurate with 3 or 4 points.
I miss out on frem jewelry, morytania and varla I like both and never done but gotta pick 3. May swap wildy for varla or mory, although two raid regions isn't likely smart.
I think 2 tick venator with 6-4-0 build fills the blowpipe/drygore need tbh. I plan on going Wildy, Frem, Mory with a 6-4-0 build.
I think something that needs to be mentioned is that if you are going 5/5 in 2 trees. You NEED to be able to beat all 3 echo bosses. Just something to keep in mind for anyone who also wants to take Varlamore and arent comfortable with Colo.
Drygore is also -10 ranged strength compared to BP. That is why its being trashed. It is objectively a worse BP accounting for ranged T6. On top of that with Ranged T6 BP provides only ranged strength (+20 regular, 10 Drygore) and bonus range. You are also not accounting mobs that have high magic level but also high ranged defence. Sol, Duke, Verzik etc
On the subject of ranged strength: Masori DOES NOT MATTER. Void range is simply superior (Yes, regular void) for DPS, about 7 dps with Tbow, 5 with plain darts (all calced with Verzik P2) even when we give Masori Zaryte vambraces. If you are looking for tankiness, then Justi will be there for you
From my calculations Void doesn't make that much of a difference over Masori, coming in at around a 1dps difference with either blowpipe at T6 against Verzik P2. The big 7-7.5dps differencemaker is the DKs jewelry, those increase your damage by a shitton. With that said I'd argue that Masori absolutely does matter cause you're getting it in the same region as one of the blowpipes. If you're sending T or D for a BP and A for a ZCB then yes absolutely void is a great bonus, but it's super significant to hang out in Masori either.
All that being said, looking at it from the perspective of taking T4 ranged instead of T6, the Drygore BP absolutely SMASHES the Toxic BP against high defence bosses. By as much as 6dps with the DKs jewelry against Verzik P2. Hell, the Toxic BP + DKs jewelry is only ~2.6dps better than the Drygore without that jewelry. That's not surprising, the Drygore is pretty obviously balanced around T4 ranged. The redundancy with the T6 relics is absolutely intentional and not an oversight, and I get people being disappointed that when maxing out the ranged masteries it gets outclassed by a main game option, but it has its place as a secondary combat style beast in my opinion
@@KokoPowderyvoid scales damage as a percentage. It would be strong with any +ranged strength, like the dks jewelery. And Fremmy is pretty important for range.
I think blowpipe builds will be extremely easy points on mid-game pvm. Like AFK GWD healing 6 health every 5 ticks with insane dps. Could equip bandos if needed for tank, otherwise void for best dps.
Even in raids the insane healing could let you stand still much more than normal, it would be novel gameplay.
Kourend is a pretty bad choice for farming megarare vouchers. Tbow from cox is a 1/34.5 drop whereas Scythe is a 1/19 from TOB and Shadow is a 1/24 from toa.
I am probably going varlamore, frem, desert. Although going full tank with justi is so funny that I'm considering doing that instead. The 8 range strength on masori, especially unfortified, doesn't do that much.
But there is this weird option for rangers where they go morytania and jut sit in full justi with sunlit bracers and a blowpipe/tbow. Ranged acc doesn't matter and not using masori "only" loses you 2 max ranged strength.
EDIT: nvm you mentioned it.
i plan on going M/T/F ?/6/?. early barrows, get that karil's set early, a tank set, and the echo item for the set bonuses, then tirannwn and fremmy for bowfa, blowpipe, and jewellery, eventually back to mory for TOB with full melee tank gear and a blowpipe. ez
Are you sure Kandarin is necessary to unlock surge spells? Fremenik both auto-completes DS2 and provides wrath runes.
Great video anyway, thanks for the in-depth analysis!
You don't need Kandarin for surge spells. You can get wrath runes from Vorkath or addy/rune dragons which is all Fremennik. You do lose out on Devil's element though, that's a fair point.
Going ZAF 6/3/1 because I like CoX and dogsword looks fun!
Might be more on the meme side, but 5 melee/5 mage actually isn't looking too terrible if you go WFM. Khopesh looks like it'll be real good with echo jewelry even if the armor is pretty mid. Mage also gets close to BiS and makes for a great way to deal with the mastery point locked behind Zuk. Also has the side benefit of helping with the Nightmare grind
I wouldn't be surprised if the math supports taking ranged more, but right now it definitely seems viable
I’m really liking asgarnia with t6 range. Void is actually better than masori when you have 100% accuracy, and the dogsword gives nice sustain (I’ll likely put 4 points into melee for this)
Don't have the source but I think Jagex confirmed 1 combat relic early on. If I had to guess, it'll be a big t8 relic choice.
Was wondering if you could weigh in on the choice of regions I'm considering? I'm kinda new to the game and your breakdowns have been super helpful. I'm thinking of going asgarnia, wilderness, fremminik since I'm not experienced enough to do raids I don't think. I plan for god wars dungeon to be my "big endgame content", specifically nex. The biggest thing I'm worried about is gear progression since I don't have a good feel for anything gear related given my lack of experience.
Tough question. Definitely go t6 melee or range so you can use melee armor as it will help you tank things (t6 range won't miss even in defensive armor). I'd say Asgarnia is great with melee armor and godswords, only downside is Asgarnia is a little bit grindy which is something you don't realize if you are new (perhaps having to do hundreds of bands kills for his armor) . I think a raid like toa (desert) may be learnable as it's really beginner friendly (you can set the difficulty) so you can still consider that. Downside here is you hurt your chances of a rare item at lower difficulties but maybe you'll get lucky. If you wanna go desert consider swapping it for the wilderness. One thing you should know is with a whip or a rune crossbow you're gonna smash a lot of content as it is so try to have fun either way!
@@Velikan314 That's really good advice, I'm definitely going to follow some of what you said. The ranged t6 isn't something I had considered and I think that's my new favorite strategy. Thank you for taking the time and effort to respond, it really means a lot.
The Desert is not that good for melee just because it has the fang. Wilderness is a great alternative with the echo weapon and if you really want to add some spice to the melee build, I would choose Kourend so you can attack with melee in a 7 tile range. It also provides you with some coverage for range and magic.
I am pretty settled on my choice. Wilderness > Tiranwaan > Kourend
If I am playing with friends this will definitely be my route. If they don't join me for leagues, I'll just switch out Wilderness with Freminik and really go melee heavy.
Another ranged advantage is how easy the builds are, no rares needed for huge dps.
I would like to go melee, but the main problem for me is inferno. I think I can do inferno with league buffs, but I would'nt want to learn it using an off-style.
I did melee inferno last leagues, got my cape 1st kc with no expérience. It's definitively doable.
I was thinking of going for a ZTF range build with the goal of learning solo CoX. Would 2-6-2 be okay for that goal? I’m unsure if I should speed up the attack style of mage or melee because I want to learn 4-1 olm methods. Maybe 4-6-0 or 3-6-1 is better though. Thoughts?
If you are dead set on learning 4:1 you may be better off going 4 melee as it has some (small) healing built into it which may allow you to mess up more. That said I think 6 range is gonna blast through CoX in a way where you won't be learning much.
Also one more thing, if you want to learn mage hand running for instance, make sure you don't end up with only 5t magic weapons. Made that mistake last year.
Im new to raids this year, and my main objective is to max, and learn some raids, i planned on taking desert and zeah- but you mentioned picking 2 raids not being ideal, am i missing something?
As someone that did leagues last year and chose two raid regions as a new player, you straight up do not have enough time to really LEARN both raids. You have to focus on one or the other to really get a grasp on the raid mechanics. Especially with a modular raid like CoX and ToA, you're probably only really going to be doing one, because unless you are playing 12 hours a day every day, it's a big time investment.
I wonder if the Hespori trumpet weapon will apply melee attack speed for it's melee stat, and also I wonder if I get tier 3 ranged, would that also get fast speed?
I would assume the 3 styles are effected separately by any attack speed increases from masteries.
5/5/0 seems like the bost FOMO route if you can only play 1 account
great great video dude, thanks for that!
So… how important is Fremenik for a range build, if the goal was to go AZV? Asgarnia has void armor and the ZCB, which gives decent damage, Zeah would be the raid region that gets you the prayer, buckler, and Tbow, and Varlemore has the bracers and quiver. Realistically what kind of damage percentage are we missing out on with range by skipping Fremenik?
My thought here is that with ZCB we really don’t need that high of damage necessarily if we get a good spec relic since bosses will melt anyway. Although I’m also kind a scrub at this game, so I could be missing something obvious here.
Taking 6-0-4 with ZFM - Using Natures Reprisal > Shadow for 4t Olm Mage Hand. Would you suggest anything else to help make CM Cox easier? 4-1 Olm Head with Crossbow/Reprisal>Tbow
Informative video, cheers!
Plate armor disables ava's. If you are going Justiciar ranged tank, just get an inferno cape instead.
T1 passive is already saving 95% of ammo so it's not a problem
Edit: Justiciar disables ava's. Wait I am an idiot.
Torva does not interfere.
I don't think the t6 passive prayer penetration is particularly good or relevant outside of toa. Its next best use case is *probably* gauntlet, but like... it seems a bit troll to just hit the thing 6 times at the start for normal damage, and then it switches its prayer and stays that way for the rest of the fight while you're limited to 60% damage the whole time. I feel like at that point, you might as well just switch weapons and fight the damn thing normally.
Of course, we still don't know anything about the echo bosses, so... it might be more relevant for them. But otherwise, if desert isn't in your plans, then t6 passive is just kind of completely useless.
TZM
4/6/0 or 4/3/4
crystal armor is going to be goated for a 1 weapon switch into range and melee and salamander is an easy echo wep right out the gate.
you get 2 raids, and pretty much bis for all attack styles.
frem is a trap for boring content and not that much of a dps increase.
varlamore is a trap cus colo is going to take forever to do.
Do we know how the Black Mask bonus works with Tumeken? Seems pretty easy to hit cap if it is considered basic magic dmg%, Mory+Frem alone is 34% between BMask(i), ring/ammy, and Virtus. Granted you're not killing many things on-task, but if going for like an Inferno speedrun build, could be quite interesting.
Unless I'm quite wrong, isn't Nature's Reprisal from Echo Hespori at least equivalent to Trident of the Seas?
Regardless, I want to play with the salamander and my plan is 0/3/6 zeah kandarin fremmy.
Im still very much considdering 5/5/0. Id be taking asgarnia and morytania, not set on the last one maybe varlamore...? Im scuffed af tho
Melee got a lot of attention in your builds but I'm wondering why the Thunder Khopesh didn't get any mention? Seems to be a crazy good build paired with the Crystal Blessing giving you a decent melee main/ranged offhand. Personally think I'm going WTM for a fun gradual build up then to finish off with raids and hopefully a Scythe.
It's 4t so it's inherently nerfed. Still really good, especially at corp
@joshholmes1372 It's still apart of the fastest weapon club at 2t after Tier5 though right? So that in combination with the 20% proc of another hit, plus the 20% chance of multiple other hit procs from the Echo mastery at T6 could show some serious potential. Or am I getting something wrong ? Hard to tell
@@xboxtoon12 Seems mid at best, barely beating zombie axe in dps.
DPS calc isn't showing the right numbers comparatively I don't think. The spec hits twice with two separate melee hits which each have a 20% chance to proc an Echo, which in turn can proc another echo.
Yeah you're right about the average DPS but Zombie axe doesn't have the spec which is critical to the build. Plus Khopesh seems pretty decent at training slayer and to obtain a Scythe@@Squatnation
@@xboxtoon12 It seems that the echoes scale to the size of the original hit, so breaking up one attack into many smaller hits is not actually better as far as echoes are concerned (except in terms of consistency). Frankly melee t6 is not worth building around anyway, it really does not add much damage on average. The Khopesh spec does go pretty hard, worth looking out for if there's a good spec relic. But if you get scythe, dps specs fall off hard as 2t scythe is close to their dps level with regular attacks lol. If I was going for a melee spec weapon I think dogsword is better as it gives you sustain and makes your scythe even more accurate.
F and D are so strong for ranged-focus tribrid that I am honestly very stuck on what I want for Third. I feel A might be overkill and I don't want to learn colo for V lol
Thumbs up and a comment but I will watch in entirety later 😉
I am looking at F/V/Z 6/3/1, I am not a stat cruncher by any means but I like the look of these regions. Is there anything you would chance mastery wise with those regions?
Would V/T/M be smart for 6/4/0 melee? I want to do echo sol but also do tob as I dont have much experience there and also dharoking at 1 hp, was gonna go A instead of T with total recall but with bosses being instanced its kinda silly
My current route is VDF 6/4/0. I'm hoping Drygore + Tbow and masori gives me a good shot at the inferno. Echo Sol is worrying me though since then I'm stuck committing to either 6/2/0 and doing echo sol or 5/3/0 and doing inferno.
What are the thoughts on dropping V altogether for A? Would make my route DAF 6/4/0.
I was really hoping there would be a mastery that would impose elemental weakness on every monster you hit and that would give a better reason to go Kandarin as well. Kind of disappointing that Magic again seems to be Shadow or bust
We patiently wait for all the relics to be released and then we'll decide :')
How do yall feel about Morytania, Varlamore and Asgarnia for melee & ranged (most likely 5/5/0)?
Any way you could comment on utilizing the magic tier 2 mastery with magic based spec weapons? This is my first Leagues but I've heard last league magic based specs counted as magic attacks.. I really love the range to mage swap strat 0-2-2. But, I've been trying to figure out if spec weapons like voidwaker/Atlatl/Dogsword would count as magic based and have their max hit boosted by up to 40%.
@@ramusvinicini unfortunately I can't help you there. If I had to guess I think atlatl and dogsword won't be buffed by it. Voidwaker maybe. Maybe the nightmare staves have something interesting.
If I'm going melee and I want to scythe down Echo Sol (to me there's no point going melee this league if you're not going to do colo) then the path is Varlamore/Mory/Tira. The Fremmy jewelry is really not THAT much better than Rancour+Ultor and the bonus from Crystal Armor more than makes up for it. 5/5/0 or 6/3/1.
This was my plan as well. Underrated choices imo.
I think you will regret not going 6/4/0
Do we know if Echos will give us Sunlight Stacks? Seems like that would make T6 pretty huge for SSpear meme build to pump out the crazy specs.
Soulreaper Axe seems really interesting as a healing option as well - Synergy with Sunlit Bracers, but also just nets you 20% more HP from T2 passive than it drains by using spec/stack decay.
I believe they said echos fo trigger sunlight spear
Jmods said echos do give sunspear stacks, so if that's the main point of your build then you def want melee t6
@@AnAnxiousExtrovert Thanks guys, that's sick! Can't wait
Looking back at the "get ready for leagues 5" video from 2months ago, one of the jmod mentions that areas will have one or two echo bosses at the 1min 20 sec mark. Not sure if this is a mistake or on purpose.
At this point it feels like a mistake. I cant imagine them witholding that kind of information after they have already revealed an echo boss for all pickable regions.
Also one of the jmods has said that "they have gives us enough information to form your opinions and routes for the league." So I dont think they are hiding any secret echo bosses, except maybe for misthalin and karamja (echo zuk anyone?)
As a Mage6/Range4 taking Kourend/Desert/Frem, do you think the Hespori Salamander will be good enough as a means of magic dmg progression? I figure I'll be able to kill normal Hespori with like, Fire Bolt, lmao
Do you have a discord server, Velikan? Would love to have somewhere to chat during the league!
I appreciate the gesture but I do not have one. I feel like I need to be a bigger channel before I should be making one.
@@Velikan314 Well, I'd definitely join if you had one, but otherwise I might hit you up in the leagues discord sometimes :)
I'm currently planning a VZM 5/5/0 build - doesn't min-max my DPS but 2-tick scythe + 2-tick tbow switch with all that end game content just sounds too appealing to me.
K echo offhand has 6% damage for gear progression, you dont NEED wrath runes to make it useful, toxic/trident are good mid game with the offhand
Cant you take fremmy and kill vorkath for wrath runes instead of going kandarin if you wanted surges for mage?
It makes me happy to be this early
Yes but have you thought about wildy varlamore mory for no other reason then becoming a dharockiing god of thunder the rains lightning from the skies while wearing a funny sunny mask?????? (Also I’m very annoyed ranged seems so op this league as I went range desert last league and just can’t be assed to go back there)
noob question: why is no one mentioning Tir being nice for ranged because it gives very good melee armor as alternative? Is it that irrelevant? You said you're not sure whether you can power through absolutely everything with ranged but for example, if you go Desert - Frem - Varla, melee as off-style is impossible no? Am I forced to put any remaining points in magic or what am I missing? Thanks!
V has sunspear, D has scythe
Where can you do the DPS calcs for Raging Echoes? I would like to know T6 ZCB compares to T4 Drygore and T6 Fang on Nex.
I like Gearscape.net but it takes some getting used to. You can also use the OSRS Wiki it has a dps calc too
i like Range D + F + V but there's no Tank armor ... :( i want to keep D + V so maybe D + V + M, but then i lose much dps from Echo items.
im going DMV & just accept that I dont want to do the content in fremmy as much as in mory.
I does hurt a lot not to get sun spear with the jewlery, but thats the game
What’s the consistent play for darts if going Varlamore-Tiranwn-Fremmy?
Edit: I’m forgetting if desert is required to fletch darts
desert allows you only to smith dart tips, you can still fletch the darts if u got the tips from somewhere else
@@xXzittlaXx ahh thanks fam
vorkath
Will black mask work on echo slayer bosses? If so thats a pretty solid increase in dps for echos.
@@Hunter77567 that's a really interesting question
how do you fletch dragon darts without the desert unlocked for blowpipe?
You only need Desert to smith dart tips. Adding feathers can be done without the quest.
