I've always HATED the "YOU PEOPLE" heel turn excuse. But for Melo, it makes perfect sense. The crowd LITERALLY started cheering Trick Williams MORE than him. You can continue it on Smackdown because when Trick came out to save Melo, the crowd WENT BALLISTIC for Trick.
Which is just him being jealous and a great delusional reason for him to turn
We have our Top 5(thus far) story on NXT right now! It's Hunter-Michaels all over again! Melo and Williams have become the biggest villain-face on the brand.

Words cannot describe how happy I am for NXT. 2.0 could have been the death of NXT, but those young bloods stepped up and stepped up big.
You also have to understand that Tennessee is not known for being a hot crowd. They were HOT

@@Undivided_X They have historically not been great for WWE specifically. They were really big in the territories and for WCW. But typically southern states were great for WWE over the years. That all changed, however, I. The years since WCW went out of business. Mostly because WWE has been the only big wrestling company for years until AEW popped up.

The way NXT, Shawn and the Performance Centre have used Bron, Tiffany, Rox C and Carmelo over the last two years should be a pretty good template for how to build there NIL kids going forward.
Tatum Paxley is not a heel and Trick isn't main roster ready yet but will be after a good run being the main man.
I thought Oba Femi looked fantastic. For someone this new, dude knows what he is doing. Quickly became one of my NXT favorites.
That main event was pure CINEMA and I absolutely loved it

Im sorry but who ever made this decision of mitb and contract holders inserting themselves in to a match is a good idea is a fool. For WrestleMania 31 it worked perfectly. Now days its stupid and makes the contract holders look stupid. Unless they can make it make sense (one of the competitors is really injured) then its stupid. Seth’s could of made more sense because it was Wrestlemania, and is the only thing that can make it excusable.

The mark of a good magician is when I KNOW The Prestige is coming & it STILL blows my mind. I seen this Melo heel turn coming FOR WEEKS. I knew Melo & Trick were gonna lose the Dusty Cup Finals & Melo was gonna blame Trick for being more focused on his title match later. But Melo's turn still sold me.
Ever thought of just making it a weekend wrap up show, so you could cover things from Collision and NXT or whatever else without going into detail if any of them weren’t particularly interesting

they said that they were going to do a combined smackdown and collision podcast but they did smackdown on saturday so im not sure if thats why they changed their mind or what
@@kevinamaya2221they specifically said in both this as well as the smackdown podcast that the smackdown review wasn’t planned and was only done last minute because of the huge story/controversy going on. That’s not something to be expected weekly.

Glad to see NXT PLE reviews continue. Fun show overall. Roxanne vs Lyra or Trick vs. Dragunov were MOTN for me. I knew the Melo turn was coming but I didn't want it to happen. I was really hoping for them to do a mutual split. Melo, Trick, Bron. Those are the big 3 for the future.
I am so intrigued by The Wolf Dogs. This is the most over Corbin has been since his 24 second wins. I think this could easily become the most over tag team in the entire WWE. My guess is Breakker is penciled in as the guy to take the IC title, but this team is over and can be on the main roster.
The Opening Match was a bit botchy. But still quite fun.
The Mixed Tag was good. Tony D. Looked badass and Rizzo looked good in her debut.
Roxanne vs. Lyra was very good. And Lola made it even better. She did not look out of place here. They did make her look quite dumb with the cash in here. And one of the issues with the Women’s Breakout Tournament especially is that 9 times out of 10 the women who win it are not ready to be champion yet. But whereas the men have the NA Title to go after instead, the women have only one belt.
Basically NXT should have a Women’s IC Title or something.
Oba vs. Dragon Lee was very good. Quite a statement win by the former.
Ilja vs. Trick was awesome. And Melo now has mega heel heat as well.
Great show overall.
One of my favorite parts about NXT is that, because every one is still learning, it makes sense that someone would "cash in" at the wrong time. If there was ever a time for a character to make a kayfabe mistake- NXT is the place to do it.

I think if you do a US title chamber or a US title ladder match at Mania, you could have Melo in a qualifying match on SmackDown, but have Trick come and cost him to further their story
Have Melo move to the roster and win the us title in a ladder match at Mania. Trick debuts Raw/Smackdown after Mania. Huge pop and where you can get the rest of your audiences eyes on this program.
I think the Thea/Riley bad acting is purposefully cringe bad
NXT continues its streak of good PLEs, the Trick Williams' through line was fantastic (with both matches being up there for my personal MOTY contender ship), Roxanne/Valkyria/Vice was a sleeper hit, the Chase U calendar segments were silly fun (as was Dijak/Gacy), and Oba Femi is SO BIG! Also there were loud boos when the press conference was shown and there were signs of 'Rock screwed Cody', so the We Want Cody movement is becoming massive.
The A-Hole section signs (the alternate name of the Wolf Dogs) got a massive laugh out of me
So thankful for the Vengence Day review! Hope to get one for all the PLE's!
The best part about Bron going to either Smackdown or RAW is that Baron Corbin is a "free agent" so he can go with his tag partner anywhere
I was there and Dan Is right as soon as Melo stood behind Trick we all went "No don't"
That show that make me go " hell yeah!!!!" Like Luke says at the start was No Mercy last year, genuinely think it's my third favourite show of 2023 after all in and wrestlemania!
Have to Melo was really swinging for the fences with those chair shots made it so much more impactful and real looking then the old I'll hold it above my head for a bit then slam it once
I was at Vengeance Day, and we DID see the graphic. On the big screen above the ring, we were getting the Peacock Feed (minus replays) but we did get the graphic and the fade to black.
I was sure Lyra valkyria woulkd win but when the cash-in happened I Had no clue after that point I thought it could be any of them
All just opinions at the end of the day, but I find it crazy how you couldn't love the Dijak match, I honestly think it was the close second best match of the night, it was fairly goofy but it was just so fun and the spots were sick

The “Simon Gotch shoots on Enzo Amore” video was very much recommended to everyone for awhile. I have the thumbnail burned into my brain. I had friends find out it was a wrestling thing (they hadn’t watched any wrestling before on UA-cam) and asked me. I don’t know how that hit the algorithm so hard.
storms kept knocking out power, so for the first time it wasn't Peacock's fault I missed some matches
When you go into an NXT show you have to go in realising that you are watching a developmental roster and that it ain't gonna be perfect.....
..... So in that respect Luke I don't think you're ever gonna watch NXT and get that "I need to watch" feeling ever.
Yes you get bad acting and green wrestlers and some shocking promos some weeks.... but a they are a mixture of a few seasoned wrestlers but a lot of very fresh learners. Watching whilst realising and accepting this (instead of attacking them for it) makes the shows far more enjoyable.
They try new and strange things because they need too see what these youngsters can do.

For the sort of nitpicky problems I have with current NXT (which sort of influences why I was so indifferent to most of this show) that main event was the first time in ages I thought “NXT is back”
Ilja has been one of my favorite wrestlers for several years now and I really hope he gets to keep having more matches like this as champ. While I do still look at Trick as a bit of the sidekick to Melo, he proved between this and Deadline that he is the real deal and I think him getting a big win over Melo at Stand & Deliver as the send off for Melo to go full time on the main roster is perfect for both guys in a way that NXT really should be. Even though I knew Melo was turning on Trick from the moment they announced Trick was pulling double duty, I still felt that moment when it happened and that’s a testament to how well this was handled and the skill of everyone involved.
🎉 I loved his heel turn!!! He whooped that trick 😂!!! Now team him with Ricochet as heels please 🙏🏽

I think the nxt PLE's are a great opportunity to pull new viewers in, they already have peacock if they follow the product. Nxt pulled me in when i randomly checked out a takeover with gargano vs andrade on it.
I say we get a Triple Threat @ S&D that could rival Styles-Joe-Daniels. At the end of tbe day, it all centers around the 3 of them and the NXT Title. Melo feels he should be the one to beat Ilja, Williams wants payback on Melo after Sunday AND he knows he had the title won. In a way, all 3 have a connection.
Melo has to go over clean on trick, he’s just that great already

great thing now is u can have a fight or split them and put on diffrent shows and let them build it up to do a carmelo mathc on main roster too up to them
I was there, the womens title match and the no dq match were super quiet. The arena was shaking with all the Whoop that Trick chants and hounds barking and no one really cheered the 6 person mixed tag match but almost all the people were doing the hand gestures for the family. Also, The Rock is the most hated man in this area right now, as hard as that is to believe.

Totally agree Dan. Separate the roster into A, B and C groups. A & C work 4 Months Then C and B Then, B & A, with all groups combining for wrestlemaina month, Plus "Surprise" entrants for rumble. Then Night after mania, you hold the draft, Which now means something, as you're not just drafting for which shows, but behind the scenes, you switch the groups each year.

I don't like the idea that someone is "dumb" for the way they cash in a MitB, or similar prize.
In real life all that matters is getting the belt because it pays more. It's not real life. It's wrestling. Why shouldn't people cash in like Lola did? It makes her look like she believes in herself. She wanted to win the title, she wanted to do it Sat and called her shot.
If you cash in the "smart" way then there's only one way to cash in; some version of a sucker punch on an unsuspecting opponent and the pinning of someone utterly defenseless. Yay. So no other method is acceptable and should never ever happen because you're "dumb" for cashing in any way that's not 100% guaranteed.
IMO the best ever MitB Cash in was the RVD one. Because it showed that he thought he'd win and all he needed was the opportunity. That's great. That's what Damian should do to get some of his fire back.
Cash in winners always look weak because it never comes across like they're strong champions. They just cheated with a really OP loophole and technically hold a belt they never actually wrestled anyone to win.

I think you are being way way WAAAY too harsh on OTM. I think they are future stars in the tag division.
They hit 3 CLEAN finisher worthy double teams in pretty short succession that made me pay attention quick.
The double running forearm to the jaw in the corner was great, then they hit their double fallaway finisher (interrupted pin) and then an alley-oop powerslam that all looked great.
Also I'm here for the "cartoony" vignettes and characters. Gimmie more promos like that. Gimmie more Dijak. Hell, I wanna see vigilante Dijak vs Anime-villain Nakamura. Yes please. All the cheesy story followed by a fantastic match in ring.
I didn't think of it at the time, but I DO see your point about the table spot being made null and void by him being in control so fast after.

I don’t get it, you guys don’t like “cartoon” characters wrestlers and preferred acrobats/fighter wrestler. But love orange cassidy and danhausen. Heck even the young bucks are cartoonish most of the time. Specially that steelcage with fenix. A match full of unnecessary spots. Heck pentagon is a “cartoon” character in a sense

You will never have the, " i need to watch every episode of nxt" feeling ever again, because its not the super indies anymore, just accept it as the developmental show that it is and enjoy it for that.
I dont think you can look at nxt as if it is the same as aew. These kids are trying to figure out how to get the wrestling thing down. Many of them will change characters just to see their range(or what works), just play along with it and move on. If you enjoy a match, you enjoy it if you dont then they need to improve.

I was just saying how funny it is that both Collision two women's match shows within the past 2 months haven't been reviewed by WT especially how they constantly want more women's wrestling on AEW programming.
It sucks that collision gets bumped every time, was a great show. Is there just no want or anything for collision pods? Pay me and a friend and we'll talk about them every week, its not hard to do a podcast from home. Its not work to talk about wrestling. A great Danielson match against Hichicero will go relatively unmentioned on WT now.
@@oggTemp in terms of its merit as a wrestling show I think that it has very good if not great wrestling on a weekly basis and also is better at highlighting the women performers as well. Personally I tune in to wrestling podcasts to hear about the good wrestling that happened rather than whether the product is cold. Furthermore, WT seemingly love to point out the negative aspects of AEW without focusing much on the highlights, Tony Khan tweeting is more noteworthy to them than how good a job Daniel Garcia has done recently for example which is just unfortunate to me. They’ll bend over backwards to include a daft thumbnail of TK looking silly in an irrelevant section of the news video but can’t be bothered to talk about a genuinely good wrestling show that has good wrestling on it.

Man, by this time in having a lifetime of watching WWE as a product and you still don't understand the difference between being a professional wrestler and a WWE superstar? 🤦🏻♂️ Okada can be a great professional wrestler but still need to be "developed" in being a WWE Superstar, so going to NXT wouldn't be a foolish move but a necessary one. IF that even happens. 🤣
