I think my favourite thing about this song is that even though they're both amazing drummers, Raya is also showing off by dancing, spinning sticks, and tossing them in the air to show that she's a better performer but she's also more intensely focused while Craig is doing it effortlessly.
It makes sense, she is younger and has the desire to prove herself, while Craig is more certain of his skills. Raya probably used things that would make her stand out to the voters. The big downside is a single slip up and she now is down a stick in the middle of the drum off, but that also shows how much skill she had that she could still do those tricks while having both stickers at the needed moment.
This is one of those songs I wish there was a DAT available for. I'd love to hear it clean from beginning to end without the show sounds/applause. As an added bonus the instrumental would be grand! Ah well this is still amazingly clear!
I think the people made the right choice voting for Raya. See how she closes her eyes for a split second and is still able to beat the drums in such a perfect rhythm? It was like she was more in tune with the music and knew the drums so well she didn't need to use her eyes, just listen and feel the music. This means she is a very talented and gifted drummer who beats with her heart. Something the Holograms are about
Jem & The Holograms Is Truly Outrageous . I know the words to every song & I love singing them when I'm just well ... Doing anything . Lol , I honestly though that it was gonna be really stupid & really girly when I first saw this show on Netflix . I watched it just as a joke at first (I'm a 16 year old male by the way lol) But I ended up loving it the first episode . Jem & The Holograms Got Me Through A Tough Time In My Life , So I'll Forever Be A Fanboy For Jem & The Holograms No Matter What Anyone Says .
An 80's cartoon that was more naturally inclusive than today's standards. This one has Whites, Blacks, Asians, Latin Americans and even had no issue including a male as a new band member.
Jetta was originally going to be black aswel, but the heads didn’t agree with making a “black villain”. Would’ve been cool to have diversity in The Misfits though. Love this cartoon.
Many today thing that diversity never existed until 2016 but you can go back decades and find it. Heck, one of the most popular shows of in the 1970's was Sanford and Son, with two black leads. One of biggest hits in the 1980's was the Cosby show. Sadly, the emphasis on "diversity" has made things more "ghettoized" in that shows with a mostly black cast is considered for blacks only, compare to the past where it was a just a great show to watch. Also, how many shows with mostly women in the lead would attract men today? Yet shows like Golden Girls, Charlie's Angels, and Designing Women were massive hits back in the day.
@@user-ey9uj6vp9s Jetta was the one foreigner in a group of originally all Americans. I thought migrants were included under the banner of "diversity."
The cartoon Jem was very diverse, the Holograms represented all races. In the new awful live action movie, the whole group was white. How many Gen X women my age think the movie bears no resemblance to the original cartoon?
@@BratzRockAngels Well, she said they were all white - not that it's super important, or anything, but yeah, the casting should have been better - I thought the girl who played Kimber was a good choice, and Hayley, but the rest were kind of ...eh. I wanted the movie to be more like the original, but I 'd buy it for a dollar or two if I saw it in a thrift store.
Amd I the only one who's noticed that the drum kits keep changing while Raya and Craig play? Especially Craig, because in the long shots, he has no drum pads, but up close, he's playing on them.

Also, she kept the secret and protected Jem.
One of my favorite Jem songs :-)
Oh my gosh, the baking is INCREDIBLE! Especially that synth part, or whatever it is. I also really like how Aja got a lot of spotlight in this scene

What are you talking about?!? Hayley Kiyoko isn't white.
@@ToyotaGuy1971 Yay, they managed to only have ONE girl, not be white, and completely change her character. 💜

Does anyone know what Jem is saying in the second line? I hear "Or are you just an also ran?" but that doesn't make any sense haha
Apparently its an expression for losing a competition. Like in a race you'd have a winner and also rans
@@bebecranney8740 ohhhhhh, thank you!
