  • Just when you thought the Turbo-can was the last word in spray paint innovation, Rust-Oleum one ups itself with an adjustable spray nozzle that lets you shoot just the right volume of paint into just the right position by clicking a dial built into the cap.

What I do is wipe the nozzle off then immediately swap it over to a can of brake clean and shoot that through for a second. Works every time but obviously this spray nozzle and some other brands have a nozzle that won’t work in this situation. Also (and I’ve never tried) I’ve heard it has to be the non chlorinated brake clean.

My first car was a 1973 Toyota Celica ST. Paid $1 for it. Running great with a terribly worn paint job. I bought 13 cans of Rust-Oleum black enamel, 6 cans of Rust-Oleum clear, 2 rolls of masking tape and a sleeve of assorted sandpaper. In 1985 total cost was around $35. I worked for 3 days sanding it and one day spraying 2 coats of black. then waited 2 days, wet sanded and as many clear coats as I could spray on with what I had, which was around 3 coats. I remember running out before I 100% finished the 3rd coat.
Anyways, the shade that people threw at it came as a compliment because several people said something like "That dosent look bad for a Maco job."
😏 And it did look amazing for a rattle can job. But for people to assume by looking that it was a Maco spray job, I took that as a compliment.
That's one of my cars that I thought was a sh*t box that I deeply wish I had today.
1973 Celicas are today as rare as hens teeth.
Anyways... There's my relatable story for the video.

I just finished the ultimate budget build on a BMW R100 motorcycle, wanted to see how cheap I could get a running motorcycle from a basket case. I have not tallied the price yet as I still have a few small things to be finished. Rust-Oleum, the chrome plated pannier racks had broken at some point, the PO had welded the racks, (good looking welds) and painted the welds with black spray paint. At the local big box store walking past the spray paints I noticed Rust-Oleum metalic chrome spray paint. Cheap enough so I grabbed a can. Wired brushed the old black paint off the racks, used some left-over spray primer, and painted the areas with the chrome spray paint. I was surprised how good they turned out. 10 feet away and the paint looks just like the 45-year-old factory chrome. Not going to win any shows, but I have a running motorcycle for under $800 with new tires and battery.

Two other times I have been excited about spray bombs.
First, steel it. Paint you can weld through. Second, the fine bed liner I sprayed my early Bronco with. Now this.
    Thanks Uncle Tony

The lack of product endorsement is why I love you and your channel✌️. You’re a true old-schooler to a T (see what I did there ? 😅 ).

In 1992 I replaced my hood.
    Krylon primer over bare metal.
Krylon red finish coats, almost perfect match to car.
Car sat outside 24/7 and the paint lasted 12 years. 👍
I've had 3 PPG $$$ clear coat jobs and all 3 died in 36 months.
I use acrylic enamel now, like UT did on that orange car. 😎😎

Rust-Oleum is great stuff, that's all I ever use too. I started using it when I had rusty metal to paint which works great, but then I liked it so much I use it for everything. The 5 nozzle can is cool, I'll have to see if they have it around here.

I'm a diesel mechanic and we have tons of trailers and stuff and we've been using the new cans and it's great when you can pick the spray it actually pretty good idea and I lived in I live in the Rust Belt so we're always touching up trucks and trailers I mean the turbo can is I mean what can I say about the turbo can it's great but these little cans where you can actually adjust the spray Works beautiful as well just for a little touch-ups here and there or when I'm doing engine work and I don't want to spray it all over everything and just want to do one particular little part and don't want to unbolt it from the engine you can get at it with these different nozzles that they have on here it's great

I picked a couple of cans the other day at the lower big box store. The girl at the cash register saw it and said what is going on with that. It was the first time I saw it and said it is for different spray patterns. She said you have something interesting there.

Ever since they have put primer and paint in the same can I have been using it with great results, I have had problems with some of there spray buttons but the paint was great and real durable. I also use the rust remover gel which also cleans aluminum.

I do some woodworking and always use Rust-Oleum enamel if I'm going to paint a project. That involves thinning to the proper viscosity for spraying and a lot of cleanup of my spray gun. Sometimes it takes longer to clean my gun then it took to spray my project. Will be sure to give this can a try next time I need to spray something. Also, I've had great luck keeping spray can tips clean by holding the can upside down. Since in most cases only one position is going to be used at a time you'd only have to clean the one position that was used.

I think the pressure differential is preventing you from opening the seal of the can. Try spraying it all out then puncturing the can. Once its dry it would be easy to see what's going on inside. Your enthusiasm is infectious sir

The turbo can is amazing. I made a large-ish tractor implement (box grader) and bought a couple of those and painted the thing in maybe 15 minutes--two coats (no concern about drips or anything).
