- Francia Raisa unfollows Selena Gomez over the comments she made while promoting her new documentary “My Mind & Me." She told Rolling Stone "My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift]." Many were quick to point out she did not mention Francia Raisa. In 2017, Raisa donated her kidney to Gomez due to her battle with lupus. Gomez reacted to the backlash by saying "Sorry I didn't mention every person I know."

Sorry, Selena, but when somebody donates an organ to you to save your life, you're forever indebted to them. We all have lapses of memory and it may have been a simple oversight, but the proper response is to apologize profusely, not to get defensive and blame the person you offended. Francia has every right to be upset.

Finally someone told the truth. I like Selena as an actress and singer. I'm not a fan but I've followed her since Disney and I know she has talent. But everyone covers up all her mistakes and treat her as if she were an immaculate saint. I know Francia isn't perfect, but I would also be upset if I were in her shoes.

For example in the current industry. Selena may have not considered relevant so Taylor swift came to mind. Now take out the word industry Selena could have very well said her name but just like that the other girl ended the friendship. It’s not that Selena can’t have a drink here and there. It was the fact that the doctors told Selena NOT to drink excessively right after this surgery, and the fact that drinking a lot can cause damage to the kidney. Francia doesn’t want to make judgements about Selena’s lifestyle, but she also feels that it was a slap in the face to be getting drunk af all the time and to be so unapologetic about it.

People saying Francia is overreacting or taking Selena's words out of context. No, she has every right to feel upset because she donated her kidney for a friend. She literally saved her life. Damn! I have Lupus and have a close friend that helped me through my low grade chemo infusion’s, it was absolute hell. She was there when so many weren’t… I’m still in awe of her selflessness and will continue to do whatever I can to prove my appreciation. Hopefully there’s more to this that we don’t know and really, don’t need to know.
I think you can see it in the vid different morals Selena at the end of the vid didn't expect that answer and most likely didn't agree she could understand her view but most likely two different of views for her to trust her completely to call her a true friend.

I used to work for American Airlines and there was a passenger coming from Dallas to Atlanta. And right when plane landed he went to me and wanted to buy a ticket going back to Dallas when i asked why as he literally just got off the plane from Dallas he said a woman who donated an organ to him was about to go to the hospital and I don’t know was it related to the organ transplant. But he said whatever that woman needed was hers as she saved his life. He was crying and said he would do anything for her. That’s gratitude!!!

Watch Francia talk about the process of giving her the kidney. It's so messed up. Selena didn't give her any time to process the situation. She made her go into surgery immediately. I don't think Francia would've said no, I just think it was absolutely disturbing how she didn't even have a chance to think about the decision fully.
Francia was too kind for her own good, but she made that mistake on her own. No one forced her and she could've said no.

I saw a clip of her documentary where he fans were saying her friend is mean to her.. i got confused because I saw different. I saw Selena complaining about her job(perfectly fine.. we all do it), but Selena took offense when she asked her friend if that's what she thought and the friend Raquel said yes. Selena then was clearly upset saying she wasn't complaining and Raquel tried to end it by saying "okay", BUT Selena kept going and put words in Raquel mouth saying "so you think I'm ungrateful". Being an only child, having social anxiety disorder from about 5 until I was 25, and too many sour relationships early on really set me on the path of solitude. I already lost my respect for Selena when I heard she didn't stop drinking after receiving her new kidney. That shows how much she doesn't really value and deserve the sacrifice of her friend. Anyways, I always trust karma to do it's work.

It happened to me this year....I was sick and very sick in hospital....my two cllosest friends never showed up. Yet, I had done so much for them. I don't bother with them anymore. Guilt is killing them, blowing my phone with calls and texts. Actually I ended up being friends with people I never thought would be a part of my life. So her unfollowing her star friend, I understand. She's justified to be hurt and disappointed.

Can’t believe how unappreciative she is. Francia probably can’t have children of her own now after donating her kidney. After three years of dialysis, my body is starting to turn against me. Brittle bones, overworked heart, severe anemia... not to mention maintaining a diet which excludes all the food I like and no more travelling. How I wish I was as lucky as her to have a Francia in my life 😭 I would be happy to sweep and clean my donor’s house for the rest of my life if I can just get a few years of normality.

I know how that feels, people suck. Moral of the story is, never ever put yourself in great detriment to help someone else because you're putting your hopes in them appreciating your efforts, and they won't because they suck.

no longer a fan of Selena, I always found it fishy that she didn’t talk about Francia that much and also continued drinking excessively after she gave her KIDNEY to her, everyone says Selena is this humble, incredibly kind person but in all honesty, she’s not. The way she’s treated the person who literally saves her life says enough about her for me. I honestly have more respect for Justin at this point.

I think selena's friend didn't understand the context, selena said "my only friend in the industry really is Taylor", selena's friend is not in the same industry as selena, i don't understand why she's so upset with that statement.

Donating one of your organs is not like giving away a piece of clothing, a purse or earrings, etc. Now Raisa only has one kidney, if it fails she could lose her own life. Selena likes to remind everyone that she’s friends with Taylor whereas I see Taylor seeing her as one of her many friends. Taylor seems closer with friends that aren’t famous and known since childhood. Selena makes herself look desperate.

This is old news, there was also an issue between them a few months or a year (I think? Can't remember clearly because it was a few years ago) after having that kidney transplant. Selena is the worst friend Francia could ever get.
Worst part is, after the transplant, Francia was still having a hard time recovering because her body lost something it didn't need to lose while selena recovered much faster because she needed a kidney. Selena was out drinking and partying with the new liver while Francia could barely preform everyday tasks by herself like using the bathroom. Everyone can lose touch and end friendships but not even mentioning Francia once in a documentary about her health and struggle with lupus. You'd think to the person who saved your life and went through a life threatening surgery LITERALLY GAVE YOU AN ORGAN, she'd be a little more grateful...

Maybe Selena doesn't consider Francia "the industry", which means she doesn't take her career seriously, or on the same level as herself. I think their relationship is very tense and Francia is bitter every time Selena fails to acknowledge her, invite her, or help her out with her life... They're in a lifelong commitment.
Reminded me of a video of a grandpa celebrating 2 years (I think) after an operation and when someone asked him who the donor was he proudly say his donor's full name, for me that's how you show proper gratitude for someone who saved your life, you should never forget them. Not a fan of Selena's but I have to admit that she was part of my childhood, this is just disappointing, especially with how she got defensive over it instead of acknowledging her mistake(if it is) and apologizing for it.

Maybe she was meaning only friend in music industry....she said one time Francia Raisa is more than a friend she is my sister...I think Francia shouldn't react that way is a very sensitive time for Selina she should stay on her side ....after all no one knows what's going on between them...the negativity is taking over ..,hope people will think before reacting, relationships needs a lot of positivity to survive.

First of all Francia was the one that went on to social media first instead of reaching out to Selena directly. Secondly, Selena has thanked Francia NUMEROUS times about the kidney transplant and they did an interview together. Lastly, Selena's documentary was SOLELY based on her journey/struggle with mental illness. I do think Francia has a reason to be upset, however I think both of them handled the situation poorly and both should have handled it privately instead of going on social medial.

You were blessed 🙌 and yes you should be thankful to God but you should also be thankful to your FRIEND that was able to help you, give her organ to you, without hesitation and it worked!
You may not have seen it as 100% offensive but what she did & could, she deserves an apology. And, just like you thank God for everything, don't forget to thank her, without both of them, who knows what would be!?
