Today, I will compare the sound of the two smallest JBL speakers: the JBL Go 2 and the JBL Clip 3.
Both are quite new model and from the two the Go 2 is the smaller and cheaper device.
However, under the hood, both have the same sized 3 watts driver.
So let’s see how they sound, I will play some songs on the speakers and tell my personal opinion at the end of the video.

Just got my clip 3 and the sound quality is AMAZING for its size. At full volume it does not distort and the highs remain crisp and sharp the lows are deep and powerful. Vocals do not fade over ambient add libs. If you didn't look you would swear you were listening to the JBL Charge series. Paid $30 brand new. What a steal!!!

The clip 3 is slightly bigger cause it has a bigger amplafier, that's also why it's slightly louder.

Clip 3 is better. But for that price you could get a Sony XB10. (I only have a JBL Go 2 so far)

All up now I’ve owned 1 x Sony XB10 and 2 x JBL GO 2.
The Sony is such a beautiful looking device. It reminds me of something out of “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex”. The Sony logo also looks amazing on it. Really nice design to me.
I gave the Sony away as it was a little too bassy for me. I compared the JBL & Sony switching multiple times in a track and could hear different things. If you love a big bass, the Sony is great. Depeche Mode sounded especially good and rich with the Sony. I just personally prefer clearer mids. The Sony seemed good at bass & highs.
I find the JBL perfect for me. The JBL eventually needed to be plugged in during use after about 2 years. (Internal battery went) I think the warranty is 1 year from memory. So bought another. Blue to Black.
Apparently JBL is known for clarity/mids. Not sure. Sony known for bass. I’m sure if you go up higher in each range, you’ll find a sweet spot. I wanted to love the Sony more. JBL branding seems a little daggy to me. So my decision is based on sound preference.
But without a comparison speaker, the JBL is very loud and bassy enough to my minds ear, without that real physical air moving bass I dislike.
I listen to a lot of music at home and have protected my ears at occasional clubs/gigs. So my hearing is pretty sensitive.
I think if you are one of those people into big bass in your car and are on a tight budget for home then the SONY is a good starting speaker. It’s a powerful little thing. It can even fall off table if not positioned right it’s so powerful for its size. If, like me, you like to listen to all genres of music as well as lots of UA-cam videos in a bedroom without feeling your ears and have it as loud as you’d ever need in that kinda space at top volumes (but normally listening waaay less than top) then the JBL GO 2 is just perfect. It’s also a nice simple rectangle. Easy to move from shelf to table to other room in pocket etc.
I never went with the second speaker in this vid (Clip). It looks good for outdoorsy stuff/shower. I don’t put my speakers or phone near water despite any water proofing. It just feels unnatural to me. Lol. Plus a speaker in a shower is too close. I rather it fill the room away from me.
This is a great video. But I’d also say, that in real life in your house, the GO 2 sounds waaay better than you’d think from watching any UA-cam vid. But comparison vids are very handy. Just know it sounds fantastic at home.
I’ll buy another GO 2 for another part of house, so I don’t have to carry it to another room.
But if I go bigger, Ill go up in size with JBL. So far they just seem to fit my ear/mind better. And a larger JBL will have bigger bass but hopefully without that sonic boom I dislike. Lol.
So if you don’t seek physically felt bass, you won’t miss anything with the GO 2. For me it’s a perfect all rounder in a room.

EDIT: Plus used for Movies/Streaming. I can watch a film on a less than ideal 4 inch phone screen and with the JBL/Audio the experience feels big. 😀👍

Nicholas Oas - Yeah, it’s more expensive compared to the GO 2 here as well. That’s also why I think the GO 2 is a perfect starter unless you’re a real bass head.

Speaker Fanatic I'd like to share with you a tought and hear your opinion as well. I have listened to many bluetooth speakers over the past years, but for me, no other sounded as good as the Bose soundlink mini. Mine is 5 years old and still going strong. I'm aware that many JBL even play louder, but I think the soundlink has the most accurate sound signature. I've just watched a Bose soundlink micro video and I loved how it sounded, I know it's pricey but maybe I'll grab one as my go-everywhere to replace my JBL micro wireless. What do you think? Hi, To be honest, I am not a big fan of the sound of the SoundLink Mini or to be more precise the Mini 2, since I haven't heard the Mini yet. For me, it is too bass heavy and a bit muddy. However, I like the sound of the Micro. In its size category, I think it is the best sounding speaker. Of course, it will not have so powerful sound as the larger speakers or as much bass as the Mini. The only con of the Micro is its price and its battery life, which is not so strong. Hi. I reviewed Jbl Go 2 and Jbl clip 3 and its true that clip 3 is louder and has better bass. The full volume of Go 2 is like 65 % or 75% of the clip 3 so for me its like 25% louder.
I also compared Jbl wind and Clip 3, the wind has distortions when its full volume. Clip 3 is really intact and has better sound.
It give me a relief regarding sound quality

Clip3 for sure but $59 US is a bit steep for this speaker. Could you get a Anker mini 2 to do a comparison with the clip3.
Yes, it's not the cheapest one. Currently, I have only the original Anker mini but I plan to obtain the Mini 2, so yes maybe later I will do a sound comparison.

jbl clip 3 is water resistance. i have one. my niece have the go 2. i dont know if its watee resistance my niece never mention about it but when i tried it both i thought it has the same loudness but since the atmosphere that time was noisy i didnt notice thay my speaker was better than hers and 50% more prize i guess is not worth if im just at home i would prefer go 2 and has a leser price but if portability and design i would pick my clip 3 since mine has a camo design btw i dont know their battery life and if both is water restistant or if just mine
So I recently just bought the clip 3 because I like the idea of just hooking it on to my bag when I go out for hikes. I notice the go 2 has more bass, but not as loud. The clip 3 is louder, but lacks the bass.

I swear the Go 2 is better (my opinion, remember?) I have expensive speakers at home and I'm listening to this in a Sennheiser PXC 500 so this isn't a broke's opinion lol but the Go 2 isn't as "harsh" and has an enjoyable sound to it "in the simplest terms".
This is what I thought too! I'm looking right now on amazon at these exact 2, I'm I'm glad people have reviewed the exact ones against another. The go 2 sounds more clear, not as "tin" sounding. The clip is louder, but for metal music I think the 2 is going to sound nicer. At least I hope I'm making a good decision!
I use to buy a JBL GO but we found JBL CLIP 3 so we went to the shop we tried the JBL CLIP 3 and my dad said: not good bass so we tried the JBL FLIP 3 very nice bass so we buyed the JBL FLIP 3

For replacing my Laptop speakers I went with the JBL Go 2 and I just dont like the JBL Clip 3 round look and I did got the JBL Go 2 on sale so that beats the JBL Clip 3 since 50 dollars is still too expensive for a small speaker

I have ordered the Clip3 in green color because longer battery life and for better sound, it will replace Sony SRS-XB10. I owned sometimes the first version JBL GO, but sound was little bit muffed. So how abbout the Clip3?
Hm, I don't think they are muffled, they rather tend to be too harsh.

Both have a nice sound, but the bigger clip 3 loudspeaker give It a more deep sound than Go 2
