A teahouse located at the Iraq-Iran border serves tea to costumers from both countries.
The water stream that marks the border attracts many visitors from both Iraq and Iran.
    STORY-LINE:
A teahouse built at the border between Iraq and Iran is catering to people from both countries.
The spot is located just by a water stream that marks the borderline between Iraq and Iran in Biyara area in Halabja.
It attracts people from the towns of Biyara in Iraq and Hani Garmaleh in Iran.
"The distance between my teahouse and the Iranian territory is half a metre. If you take a step forward you would be in Iran, and this side is Iraq," says Darvish Affan, an Iraqi Kurd from Biyara.
He decided to build the teahouse after losing his fruit and vegetables farms due to the lack of rain this year.
Affan says he would have gone crazy if he had not build this teahouse. He built the seats, tables and furniture himself.
The venue has become a business spot for vendors from both sides of the border like Ghafour Mohammed who sells berries by the teahouse.
People from each country pay for tea with their own currency.
"Hani Garmaleh and Biyara have an affinity to one another. So, we are mixed together and we are family," says one man.

People walk around on both sides of the border in this area, but officials and government employees don't cross from one side to the other, according to Affan.
Iraq's late dictator Saddam Hussein ordered the invasion of Iran in 1980 and fought an eight-year war with Iraq's neighbor.
By 1988, 1 million people had been killed in a conflict that featured trench warfare, Iranian human-wave attacks and chemical weapons assaults launched by Iraq.
