We've played Horrified a lot & love teaching it to others. This new version looks great with new puzzles to keep it fresh. Thanks for the playthrough!
So glad you enjoyed joining us (and liked what you saw in this new version!)
These playthroughs are always the reason I purchase a game. Thank you!
Thank you, Henri!! We are so happy to hear you enjoy them!
I'm so happy that you got this and have already played! I just bought it at Target TODAY and I'm looking forward to playing it! I love your channel, by the way, I'm a bit obsessed and love watching your playthroughs! Much Love!
Have a great time playing - and glad you're enjoying the videos!
Thank you so much!
Have been interested in this game and watching this is helpful. Thanks for putting this together! 😊
Thanks for joining us on this monster hunt!
I just bought this game and I am so excited to play it! I plan on buying the other three as well the Greek, Classic monsters, and cuthulu! I am so glad this video is here to show me how to play.
Have a great time playing!
Thank you for playing the game for us to see. It made it a lot easier to understand during our first playthrough.
Very nice to know it was helpful!
Gus, Cindy and Melvin, the true MVPs😭
The unsung heroes!
That was a fun playthrough! I'm really enjoying your videos. Many thanks.
Thank you Jon!
Love playing the original Horrified, and it was great to see how the monsters played in this version. Great playthrough as always! 😀
Thanks so much Emma!
My son and I just bought this game and are loving it! Great video. Confirms we understand the huge booklet of instructions. Haha!
So glad this was helpful, have a great time playing!
Really enjoyed the playthrough. We just got this yesterday, only 1 play so far, but hope to play again soon. Also, very nice to include Bigfoot in your game, alot of confusion on BGG as to how he works. Catch ya in the next one 👍
So glad you enjoyed Philip!
First Horrified was my first board game other than ur typicals like Risk or Monopoly. I'm obsessed. Got my fiancee into it as well. I loved it so much that I grabbed this from Target this week along with Alien. So far I've played against Chupacabra, Banshee, and Ozark. Lot of fun.
So nice to hear that you've been enjoying - welcome to the hobby!
I just saw this on my feed and I clicked it so fast. Me and my kids play the universals monster game a lot to the point I got a 7 year old playing the game with all monsters on the board. When they find out that this is a thing there going to freak out
Fun Halloween surprise perhaps? :)
@@WatchItPlayed picking it up tomorrow lol
Monique and Naveen are gold!
Very lovely of you to say (and I agree, I'm biased, but I agree :) ).
I actually really enjoyed the original! Can't wait to grab this :)! Also can't wait to watch this on my lunch break aha xD!
Hope you have a good break (and watch!)
Thanks @@WatchItPlayed it was! Loved the gameplay, looking forward game when it comes out ☺️!
Another fun playthrough... GUS was the real star of the show! Yay GUS! RIP you are a hero! XD
A real trooper, that Gus!
LOL! Gus!!! What a true hero
I have not played this game but the American monsters looks right up my alley!!!! I would like for them to release a DLC or add on and add more monsters!!!
Glad you enjoyed Luke!
I wish in the original Horrified they could have added The Phantom of the Opera as well
I love Horrified because it is a fairly simple game mechanically but requires some decent strategy and has such variable difficulty (from impossible to lose if you use 1 or 2 of the easiest monsters up to impossible to win if you play all of the monsters at once) but it is also weird because it starts at the most difficult and gets easier as the game goes on as you defeat monsters as there is less activating and threatening stuff.
Great game though.
That's where the timer off the deck comes in though. We played 2p vs the Jersey Devil, Mothman, and Bigfoot and barely won due to the Jersey Devil pulling all of the citizen cards out of the deck and you having to choose to introduce them. I think we won with only 2 cards left in the deck.
Glad this is one you've enjoyed!
You can also use tokens to slide the bigfoot picture pieces instead of swapping
Yep, you sure can!
I'm glad y'all made this video. I like the idea of Horrified but I'm not a fan of the old school Universal Monsters, so this one seems more my speed.
Nice to know this version is more up your alley!
Wow that 3rd player co-op idea is an awesome idea!
I wonder why the Bigfoot Frenzy order in the guide was 3 but in the Monster Mat it's 6
Not sure - possibly a typo.
Wait, why isn't Monique playing with purple if the game has this color available? Could it be that she has abandoned the purple clan?
LOL! You noticed! Monique really liked the special ability of the character she chose. She will never abandon the purple clan!!
@@BeforeYouPlay It takes one to know one! BTW, awesome job you two, as usual!
For the cave in, could you have moved the moth man into a trap?
Hi Mark! Yes, absolutely lol. I think we had a few missed opportunities with the traps, especially toward the end there.
@@BeforeYouPlay haha too many things to keep track of. Thanks for the great playthrough! Love your content!!
If Bigfoot ends up becoming the frenzied monster you’re in trouble. We played for the first time a few days ago and I think I like this better than the original horrified. It’s more challenging.
Hey, glad you've been enjoying this one!
This one looks exciting! It's sitting on my shelf. Taunting me. Can't wait for this one to hit the table.
Will Watch It Played be doing a video covering the monsters and how they work?
No plans for a separate tutorial for this game specifically, but you'll get a good sense of 3 of the monsters from this video.
@@WatchItPlayed I read through the rulebook, they seem pretty easy to understand, I just want to watch more Watch It Played videos! Haha
We just bought the game and played at once. We could not figure out what to do with the bigfoot feet. We read to put them next to the monster mat. But then the monster card said to take them off the board and they weren't on the board. So where do they go when you start the game? Thanks in advance.
Hey Donna, I don't have a copy of the game myself, and only did a tutorial for the original version, so I'm not sure.
Show game play!!!! Congrats my board gamers friends!!!
Has this video come out out of order? I can't find the tutorial videos' "link below" and I can't remember seeing it in my subs updates
Rats - forgot to add the link! Added.
Would love to see a video of how the Jersey Devil plays. I know it’s a “difficult” monster, but feel that I might have done a few things wrong. For starters, you are removing like 13 monster cards from the deck, which is a lot (there’s only 30 total). Saved three villagers, determined who was the 13th child, but couldn’t get the JD back to the one space I needed it to before running out of cards. You only work the unused villagers back in after defeating the JD, right? I had like 8 leftover, but they just ended up sitting there.
No plans to do a second play through currently, but hope you can find answers to your questions!
What do people feel on the original vs American monsters? Any preference? One better than the other?
I've only played the first one so far! -Rodney
I think in rules said that you need to end your “move” and then activate a trap. Does it Means you can’t move after it’s armed?
I don't have that rule book in front of me right now, but I believe the wording is saying that if you end your move in the space, you can then activate the trap, but it doesn't mean you can't move again afterwards.
I tried playing against Bigfoot and Ozark as a solo player (with solo rules) and got super unlucky with my roles and lost the game in record time.
At least you set a record :)
Sacrificial Sidney 😂
The world thanks you Sidney!
Someone said there are errors on the board that make bigfoot unplayable is this true?
I didn't cover that one in a tutorial (just the original), so I haven't looked into that. -Rodney
@@WatchItPlayed Thanks for the response! I guess I'll find out when it arrives in the mail.
Instead of "Monster Phase", I thought you were saying "Monster Face" 😀
You should always feel free to make a monster face while playing this game!
Check out horrified Greek monsters and Lord of the rings adventure to mount doom
Can you only deflect monster hits with yellow items?
Unless it has a special rule that says otherwise, you an use any colored item.
I hope this game gets a UK release
Fingers crossed for you!
Thanks. It would also be nice if they can do a movie themed one with Freddy, Jason etc
Gus KNEW!
Klingo subtitles? What about other existing languages than english first?
The Klingon subtitles are used just to show any corrections on screen if necessary.
i appreciate the use of neutral pronouns for the cryptids. as a nonbinary person who uses they/them pronouns, it was...oddly affirming?
Isn't it more fun to keep it a mystery? ;)
