Oh my God yes! Rance Allen is just so powerful with his voice! When he did, "Trust In Him" with Twinkie song, he tore that song up! And just learned the song, he was reading off a piece of paper!
I think you left out one of the most soulful!! Creative innovative male singers of all time Mr.. Donny Hathaway.. He is the architect of those riffs.. He started them in the 60s.. Along with Mr. Stevie Wonder.. Those guys was doing that before most of these singers where even born..
@@bobcrane812 Nobody like Donny Hathaway, these dudes could never. His live rendition of yesterday is a vocal masterpiece, dude was only 25 and his voice was so well developed, he remains one of my favorite male vocalist till this very day.
soo many tenors jeez and their approach doesn’t linger far from scaling up and down consecutively on the staff.. some light arpeggio work here and there. aside from some minor chord changes and cool pentatonic stuff.. my ears are a little desensitized because the musicality has become so common place. All these guys are proper beasts though. Every single one of these cats are gifted!! I enjoyed this so much!! Peter Collins made my ears quirk up with those exotic double harmonic (Phrygian) riffs, though.. u don’t hear a lot of that in western music! He’s sickkkk👏🏽
The Walls brothers both killed ,Peter Collins is phenomenal, Marvin Sapp yes, Luther is amazing , Jonathan McReynolds is smooth, Kentontae Gavin strong vocals. heck all of these brothers are the bomb!
Some of these guys sound so good. Others I can't identify with musically. But you included some legends, Johnny, Luther, J.Moss, Marvin, Bryan, James, ! Rance is the realness!
Everybody got they OWN UNIQUE sounds some vocal abilities will only let them hit notes that they can reach!! Of course some runs an riffs will sound the same but in actuality they are not the same because because of the person vocal abilities but I LOVE a man that can sing an especially when’s he passionate about his craft as well
Peter Collins is a brilliant gift from above with a very beautifully humble spirit. Mind-blowing experience to witness his God-given gift in person. Absolutely loved his performance. It felt more like just hanging out at a family reunion or church cookout. My soul felt full with so much joy, love, and peace. All gentlemen mentioned in this video are tremendous blessings among us. Thank you for sharing. ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
The 3rd part better just be solely of the G.O.A.T = WANYA MORRIS or ima bout ta slap sumbody🤣... He like the Mike Tyson of the Male Voices - Period. 💚 Auckland NZ
This video really just showed me just how underrated and underappreciated masculine artistry is to not only music listeners, but to many male artists themselves. All of these men are incredible in their own rights, but I gotta give a special shout out to the men who sounded like men! It's super refreshing to hear.
I don't think he meant it in the way you guys going with it! There is an obvious difference between the way these guys sing and Donnie Mcclurkin, Darell Coley etc... I think (hope) he means that he would love to hear them sing in their natural voices. In that context, it would be a totally different sound from a musical stand point. All women out, even Mariah Carey sings deeper than what these guys always display. So im sure he wouldn't say she was masculine. No matter how we fight for masculine or feminine stances, the choir is still divided by natural voices when placing vocal arrangements. Females make up the bulk of true soprano and alto sections, while men mostly make up tenor and base. Come on. Stop being so sensitive. Yall know what this man trying to say! Lmaooooo. Or just ask him what he meant before accusing him of being a jerk! Best wishes!
Chicanery 2U your comment proved what we just said. Again, naturally a male can have a higher tessitura than a female. Example; Laylah Hathaway compared to Mitch grass From Pentatonix. Yes females usually have higher voices but it’s not uncommon for males to have higher placed voices and to assume that they aren’t singing with their natural voice is ignorant
Van someone please explain what masculinity has to do with anyone's ability to sing notes? Are instruments masculine or feminine. A note on a scale is just that and it will still sound different, yet the same, no matter what instrument it comes from. Every women isnt a soprano just like every man isn't a bass. Smh. Ppl crazy
I truly can’t wait till male singers realize there is a technique called belting. I’ve always wondered why no male singer just flat out sings && the first go to is the typical upward falsetto run. Are most men not able to belt notes? I’m honestly asking... Luther, Johnny Gill, and the young boys at the end were like one of the only singers that actually have a belting range🤨😐🤨
Wise One Son falsetto is literally a specialty of men it’s like the strongest aspect in their singing. That wasn’t coming from an oblivious standpoint😐. A lot of male singers especially within the most recent years, for whatever reason men have blended into the same ole technique, the only thing that sets them apart is tonality differences. From this compilation it confirmed in my opinion why there’s no mainstream male vocalist, well a mainstream black male vocalist at that.
@@truuff belting requires way more control and training.Without proper diaphragm support, pitch, and musical knowledge you arent belting. Youre screaming.... Runs are as simple as making a pop tart. Why do you think theres more male singers relying on frivolous runs and riffs instead of standing flat footed and singing. Its simple. They cant. Theres a reason why greats like luther daryl donny rance sam otis jackie etc are considered legends. They have style they have musical knowledge and they can do more than run all over the place
@@sir3958 hes not worth even trying to explain too. He's the same person that just said running and riffs are more difficult than belting and requires more breathe😂😂😂
Roosevelt Nickelberry an un trained ear or one not versed in tine, richness, saturation, pitch and so forth would think so. I mean surface level we would all think that but these are snippets from performances, including Luther, Marvin, J Moss and Rance who are ICONS along with Durand, Peter, Brandon and other up and coming powerhouses
I have a trained ear... and he's right. MOST of these guys have the same sound and run style 🤷♀️. If there is some versatility that we're missing that's not captured in the clips I guess maybe they should have chosen different clips. And I'm only half way through the video as I type.

Luther and Rance with their signature legendary runs. Masters.
Yes Lord 🙌

It just means that what he does is so good that the only reaction you can summon up is to laugh.
BISHOP RANCE ALLEN!! WAS SO ORIGINAL, UNIQUE ANNOITED WAY AHEAD OF HIS TIME!! I WILL TRULY MISS HIM!!
Me, too!! Rance was one of my favorite singers. I miss him along with Lashun Pace and Daryl Coley.
All are soo great but Rance and Luther are another level, legendary runs
Luther was effortless and smooth! ❤️
Marvin Winans!, Dietrick Haddon!, John P. Kee!, and Men of Standard?!! Definitely have to do a part 3 with these gentlemen!

Then backed it up by saying "who's gonna do it l!!!! Yikes
Rance Allen is untouchable. Never heard anything like him
Peter Collins is bad (in a great way)
Range Allen’s glasses, hands, fine hair, suit- everything about that man can sing!!!!
All these dudes could sing but Rance and Luther took it to a whole nother dimension that these young guys will probably never really reach.
Because the actually sing like themselves instead of being influenced by someone else
rance allen is crazy with it. DARYL. COLEY. shoulda been in here too. john p kee as well.
Metasota All in my head with this post!!! How do you leave these men out!!!

The Goat ,Rev.Rance Allen and Jonathan McReynolds🙌

Charleston's own Kelontae Gavin♥️🤧
Kelontae ain't no joke! The boy is naturally anointed.
Gary "lil G" Jenkins (Silk), Brian McKnight, and Stokley
