- Twinkie Clark is an American gospel single which is best known as the lead singer of the Gospel Group The Clark Sisters. She wrote the biggest hits for the group and is an excellent Vocalist. Her younger year vocals sound like a mixture of the best of Dorinda and Karen in one. There's a rasp in there along with power plus her crazy range, she's awesome!

🤔... but who introduced karen to those runs? In my opinion, each sister has a piece of twinkie's gift and they took it (from her) and made it their own OR she instructed them to do so. Karen runs, dorinda scats, jackie is smoothe, and denise has a distinct tone-- twinkie possesses all of these traits, in addition to that nasty growl that nobody can mimic, her bass/lower register that the other sisters do not (or cannot) access, and lets not forget her being the queen of the B3. she had a better voice back then, than Karen, but Karen wasn't but fourteen and fifteen then, Twinkie is much older now, and Karen's voice of course has super matured, it was actually ready then but she was scared, and, Karen watch Twinkie, Twinkie with Karen's favorite singer, and she studied Twinkie, but now I'm that her sister is older, she has to help Twinkie with the bigger notes, and of course is the leader of the group, for decades now, but my thing is that, their the biggest gospel group in the world, why can't that just be enough, like, why are we putting them against each other, like that's just dumb, and of the devil, to come to conquer, come between, & separate families from one another, and divide,by saying this one is better than that one, and so on, they're all great, period, so stop it.

Mother Mattie Clark did a wonderful job teaching her girls, but Twinkie is what wrote, arrange, played, and worked with her Sisters. Let’s be real Twinkie put the Clark Sisters on the map. They all are so very Blessed with talent.

I was 16 years old when Dr Clark and The Clark Sisters came over to London for a concert with the COGIC Mass Choir (UK) and I remember sitting like 2 meters away from her on the Hammond organ. The first song that she led that night was 'Just When I Need Him Most'... Let me tell you... that moment changed my life forever!!! I broke my curfew that night by staying til the very end of the concert ('Hallelujah' went on for like half hour! 🔥)..... I got into the most trouble with my parents that night! 😂 But I was prepared to take whatever punishment I was dealt with AND I would do it again! LOL! ♥️

I’ve noticed that Twinkie goes from a rough growl all the way to a very clear tone like a bell ringing. The only other sister with that kind of bright, clean and soft tone is Denise. Twinkie is just able to execute both ends of the spectrum.
Well Denise and Twinkie sing very alike. Out of all the sisters they have the most similar tones especially when they were younger.
