I want to say this about mike . he could take advantage of alot of people. But he is fair honest and completely forthright

I always liked this show before they found the van, but being a HUUUGE Aerosmith fan, and being from Massachusetts, there is a much more special place in my soul for Mike and Frank!

My first concert ever Hampton Virginia 19 years old right up front awesome still a musician today because of that experience covering Aerosmith songs thank you guys keep on rocking

My favorite band of all time! Sure I love MANY bands but the life events and circumstances surrounded Aerosmith. Only seenem 4 times. My bucket list includes having a pic taken with the band👍

So very very sad to hear about Frank’s passing. I just found out. He died sept 30th. He was my favorite on that show. I watched it for many years.
Aerosmith needs to come back out with a new song and use that logo on their new album on the side of the van
They need a song to go with it called, "getting back to the root of things"
Yeah, maybe even a good album and song this time.
Or a picture of the side of the van on the cover
Have the side of the van for the album cover, and maybe have the album name "Keep On Rockin'" as a play off of the "Keep on truckin'" pose. Then maybe on the back cover, have new art of the band members in the same style and in the same pose as on the truck.
And of course the album would have to be released on vinyl in addition to CD.
just use the pic of the van as their album cover picture. Ohhhsome

With the popularity of the band, it’s hard to believe nobody knew about this years ago. It’s a cool piece and would look great in bar or a center piece in the Hard Rock Cafe. I agree the logo and coloring on that looks almost too new and wonder if it’s been touched up and redone. If it’s been outside for 45 years, not sure how the color has held up so well. Unless a lead based paint or whatever they used 50 years ago still looks so vibrant with color
How did that van partly rust away,but the colours of the painting on the side of it didnt fade? Never ever seen that happen.And i did a lot of outdoor paintwork over the years..Very unique,i would say.🤨
Lead based paint, it's been banned in the US since 1977 due to its toxicity, but the stuff lasts forever

How awesome. I think it would be even better if Steven, Joe, Joey, Brad and Tom were able to get a hold of Mike and Frank and get a few updated pictures of themselves with this van.
This needs to be restored
I think the band wanted to keep it in original form. But you could put benches or bunks in the back, etc. and still not a full restore.
I watched this episode, they kept saying they're not going to restore it, whilst restoring it, so the only original thing left was the art on the side. Absolute travesty what they did to that van! 100% Triggers Broom at the end
Hey man Steven, Joey, Brad, and Joe love it, and frankly that’s about the only opinion about the van that matters for this. They preserved it as much as they could. Not restore, preserve. Any original part that survived, made it.

restoring would have had them get it right back to brand new ,no imperfections ., preserving means making it look like it did with all the rust and imperfections
That's cool. Ray is heavily mentioned in all the biographies, he actually seems pretty with it his memories are clear. Some people's minds didn't make it out of the 70s.

Yes his memory seems pretty good and so he probably actually remembers attempted murder against Steve's pregnant girlfriend .
The whole thing is really horrific and it's on a number of channels .
I believe every word of what she says and it blows my mind that obviously Ray was probably never investigated by the police .
Probably the best video about this is on the DEEP-DIVE channel..
Tragic , horrific , and sickening ... especially if you have any young daughters .

well it was probably covered by a tarp for years. also if he was a artist, he knew enough to at least use oil base paint. that stuff last forever. its the best paint to use durability wise besides lead paint, which they dont make anymore .

The painter did a self portrait of himself. Although it does look like the Keep on Trucking mudflaps.

I've been a body man for 40+ years. It's not unusual at all.
Even non-lead based enamel would last fine.
I met that guy MARK ,,,and a guy named Jerry ,,,in 1970,,,the van was abandoned at the Chesterfield Gorge

Logo looks pretty fresh
Yeah. Amazingly so. The rest of the van is roached but the logo is pristine. I like the show but I think they did some touch ups before the show.

Hate to be this guy, but doesn;t it occur to anybody that the paint is so fresh? And the fact Ray Tabano didnt really confirm it was the same van until they made comparisons of the interior with an old photo on his phone? I think this is a typically manufactured American Pickers moment.

@@Xianpaul0523 it was same as you will see on here. No big deal. Dude had it for sale for many years, nobody wanted it. Nobody believed it. Pickers got the lead, they went to check it out. They made several phone calls, got verification, then bought it.

If I was buying I’d do that. If I was the seller, part of me would want to just ask tabano if he wanted it. Free of charge just give it to him. It means more to him and his friends than it does to me
